How to Download the report from the workitem?

Hi,
I have one typical requirement that is to download the report from the Workitem by the manager?
Would any body please give the solution and procedure?
If you have any sample code for that give it tome?

If it is an ALV report you don't have to do any coding. You don't say which report it is.
If it is a report that uses write statements you can also export to a spreadsheet, but of course the cell matching is not quite as for ALV reports since the report creator decides the alignment. Use the menu item "System" => "List" => "Save" (the menu item names may be a little different since I have translated them from Norwegian).

Why do you need to do it by a curesor loop? Can't you put the query in the datamodel of the report and simply pass the parameter to restrict the query?

BIP not able to open the reports from the catalog

Hi everyone,
I am trying to open the existing reports from the catalog. When i try to expand the folders am getting all the subfolders and evrything and when i am trying to open a particular report am unable to open it, am not getting the data. For all the reports in the catalog am getting the same pbm. What might b the pbm for that, Could anyone pls ans my question bcoz i am having requirement on BIP which am new to it.,,,,

I am trying to open the reports from the shared folders. But am unable to expand the content of that folders and reports. I am using the database as TERADATA. Do we need any security changes for that to acess all the content from the shared folders from BIP side. I am working with the administrator role.,

but the question here how could i to generate the report directly to the printer without showing it on the screen???
I search on the net and I find that I should change this line :-
SET_REPORT_OBJECT_PROPERTY(report_id,REPORT_DESTYPE, cache);
to this
SET_REPORT_OBJECT_PROPERTY(report_id,REPORT_DESTYPE, printer);
but it is not working with me :-(
is there any suggest ?!

Ok, I was able to figure out the functions that were confusing me. For my own record and for those that do not know, I will list how to create the objects necessary to add a new report to a menu.
1-Write JSP (should be written just how Oracle writes theirs)
2-Creat function for the new JSP page as System Administrator responsibility
3-Use Sys Admin to add the function to a menu somewhere
4-Using AK Developer responsibility, create an attribute with the label of the attribute being the name of your function you created. Oracle's convention is the name of the attribute has FS in it.
5-Using AK Developer, lookup the ASF_FUNC_SEC_REG region
6-Drill down into that regions attributes
7-Add a your newly created attribute to this region

I am getting the following error while executing a report from the form, and the destination format is excel

im having same problem when i use long report file names. like when i use report name my_very_long_long_report_name.rep this problem occurs..
i reduced this to my_short_report_name.rep it never occurs, it happend in lot of reports.

Hi Chow,
The workitem displaying the report must be part of some method of your BOR. This method must be either a ABAP program or function module depending on your requirement. In the same function module or ABAP program, you can have the code for downloading the data in excel.
Kindly find the following code for doing so. Here the file will be created on the desktop of your manager and the data will be downloaded into this excel as the program/function module gets executed in workitem. Here pass the output internal table to DATA_TAB.
