How to drag a song on same page in music to another location on same page

I used to drag a song to up or down to another location but now I cannot do so .....It will not work ! How do I get it to work again?

Hi,
The easiest way to do this would be to open a new document, making it the size you want the finished product. Drag each photo onto the new document (having done any editing to the photos before doing so), sizing them as needed.
Hope this is what you have in mind.
Thanks

  • How can we move the 'application data\apple computers' folder to another location

We use roaming profiles and the Application Data folder is stored on a network drive with restricted space (500MB).  This has not been a problem in the past but since we've been rolling out iPad's & iPhones, this restriction is becoming a problem as iTunes download's ios updates and stores device backups in 'application data\apple computers' folder (and not in the media library).
Does anyone know how we can move this 'application data\apple computers' folder to another location or force iTunes to store the downloads/updates in the media library (which can be moved)?
Thanks very much in advance for any help.

Move the iTunes Library elsewhere, launch iTunes with the Shift key held down, and point it there.

  • Organization problems with 2011 updates so all these hints I'm getting from 2006 aren't going to help because I knew how to drag my songs to playlists last week.

Organization problems with this months update!
I was the neighborhood Itunes "expert" till the recent update.  I have read and read the help and I cannot drag my songs to from music playllist to "marathon" playlist.
AND what is that annoying blue selector bar doing????
I need to run at 5 a.m. .... why why why did they make such big changes.  I have a 100+ songs I  bought tongiht.  Now I'm stuck.
I'm 40. and I don't have time to social network on Itunes.  The children may have time but I'm the one with the money so I decide where they purchase their songs and what brand of phone we will select.
Forgive me.  I am really upset because I have been using this program for years and now I have a chance for 4 hours of sleep and Itunes is trying to be Facebook.  I don't want to ping.  Social networking is a saturated field.  Apple missed the boat.  They need to move on.  I social network a lot but NOT where I am spending my money.
    Uggggg

I'm not sure I actually spotted a question above. Ah got it now.
The usual playlist mistake is to try and drop tracks onto a smart playlist, but I assume you're aware of that one.
Can't say I've noticed any problems making playlists but the 10.2.2.12 build does have some issues with the physical organising of files. Perhaps there are some other quirks that have yet to gain attention. Either way you may benefit from downloading the latest build - iTunes 10.2.2.14 - but you need to download it manually from http://www.apple.com/itunes/download/ (scroll down for 64-bit links if relevant)
For reasons beyond our ken the Apple download site, and it seems Apple Software Update, ignore the minor revision number. If you check for updates when running 10.2.2.12 you will be told that 10.2.2 is the latest version of iTunes, and so won't be offered an update.
Once you've updated disabling and then enabling the "Keep iTunes Media folder organised" option will tidy up any files that are still in your download folder.

When I copy a cd I have purchased to iTunes to load on my ipod touch, sometimes it might select one song on the cd and make it another album, with just that one sone.
Also if i have 2 cds that are entitled Collection from two different artists, it loads fine in itunes as separate artists, but on my ipod it mixed the two albums together.

You can use your iPod as a hard drive and move the ITunes folder:
How to use your iPod to move your music to a new computer
There is a manual method of accessing the iPod's hard drive and copying songs but not playlists back to iTunes on Windows posted in this thread: MacMuse - iPod to iTunes
If you prefer something more automated then there are a number of third party utilities that you can use to retrieve the music files and playlists from your iPod, this is just a selection. Have a look at the web pages and documentation for these, they are generally quite straightforward.

    YamiPod Mac and Windows Versions

For iTunes purchases, you can transfer them back to iTunes by plugging  your iPod into her iTunes library and choosing File -> Transfer Purchases.
See this older post from another forum member Zevoneer covering the different methods and software available to assist you with the task of copying non=iTunes purchased content from your iPod back to your PC and into iTunes.

  • How do I remove song files from my iTunes Music Folder that are deleted?

    Hi,
When I deleted unwanted songs from my iTunes Library I selected the option to Keep Files instead of Moving Song to the Recycle Bin. As a result I've now got a load of unwanted music files clogging up my music folders.
So how can I identify music files that are in my iTunes Music Folders but have been deleted from the iTunes Library and then remove them from my hard drive?
    Cheers,
    Andy.
    Sony laptop   Windows XP Pro

Here's a thought, have you added any new items to your library recently?
If you add your iTunes music folder to your library, anything not already in your library will be added.
Now go to your library view and make sure you have the date added column visible. (Right click in the header row to get a list of columns that can be selcted).
Now sort by date added and everying you just added will be together and can be easily identified for deletion.
Note this only applies if files are in the iTunes Music folder, files in other places have to be deleted in Windows Explorer.
PS iT is usually a good idea to make a copy of iTunes Library.itl before experimenting. Copy it from your iTunes folder to somewhere else.

  • How do I delete songs off ipod that got accidentally put on it ?

Today my computer was very stupid and i some how have 200 more songs off wal-mart.com music that were randomly put on my ipod and i cannot get them off i need HELP please . Any comments are very appreciated.
P.S. srry about the grammar i'm in a hurry

How you delete content from your iPod depends how you have it set to update:
If you are updating automatically (syncing) all songs and playlists then delete the files from the iTunes library. In the iTunes Library highlight the file and press the delete key on your keyboard. If you're updating the iPod from a selected playlist delete the song from the playlist and it will remain in the library. Next time you connect they will deleted automatically from your iPod.
If you are updating manually, connect your iPod and when it shows in the iTunes source list click on the chevron (the little triangle) to the left of the iPod icon This will display the various icons for the iPod itself, Music, Movies, TV Shows and Playlists. Click on Music and you'll see the usual song list. Find the files on your iPod that you want to remove, highlight them and delete directly as above by pressing the delete key on your keyboard.
To select multiple items such as all the songs in an album, click on the first track in the list hold down the shift key and click on the last track to highlight the selection. Then press the delete key.
To summarise, you start by highlighting the song/video/selection in either the iTunes library or on the iPod song list as displayed in iTunes then press the delete key on your keyboard: Deleting songs or playlists from your iPod

  • How do you transfer songs to second iTunes user account; same computer

How do I transfer songs from one user account to another user account on the same computer?
I've given my son his own account on our second computer. Prior to this, he shared his sister's iTunes account, using a playlist to populate his ipod. Now that he has his own account, he wants to transfer his music to his own account. Is it possible to do this quickly? I've been able to copy some actual song files from the first iTunes library and physically move them to the new account using a flash drive, but this is cumbersome. Any better options? Thanks.

Sounds like a good plan. What folder/files do I move...the entire 'iTunes Media' folder?  ...and how do I point to it...through the advanced preferenced feature?
It would be the folder you have selected as your Library folder. Usually Mac HD/Users/[User]/Music/iTunes/iTunes Media
    See below:
Select Mac HD/Users/Shared/Music - CREATE IT if need be
Move your iTunes folder to the new Music folder. You'll probably have to "re import" the Library in iTunes. (Clear the old library first)
But ionce it;s in the Shared Music folder, EVERY account on the comp can access those files for their own library (whichever songs THEY want) and you onle need ONE copy of everything.
Each user can only access or modify THEIR OWN library while logged on so it prevents someone erasing another's library, because the iTunes Library file is in a locked folder when others are logged in.

    Vera,
Use View > View Options, and set 'Sort By" to "Manual Order."
Then you will be able to drag-n-drop songs up and down the list.
