How to draw doodle style in photoshop

Hi guys. I'm a good drawer BUT very new at photoshop. I would like to draw doodle style artwork for android and iphone games.
I can draw them on paper but how would I draw them in photoshop. I MEAN - what brushes would I use - is there a special BALLPOINT pen brush etc...

To any admin/mod: If selling things is not allowed, please remove this post; I made an honest attempt to check if selling items on the forum was permitted or not, but could not find anything.
Hey CodeBeastAdobe - As others have indicated, a tablet is GREAT for being able to doodle  in Photoshop, and PS has great support for Wacom brand tablets.
I'm looking into buying a Cintiq tablet, and as such am selling my Intuos3 6"x11" for 200.00USD.  It's a widescreen tablet (not sure if your monitor is widescreen or not), but it works perfectly and could be a good opportunity to be able to draw in PS in a more traditional manner.
I have to budget for the Cintiq, which is also by Wacom, but that actually lets you draw ON SCREEN!  To me, that's the perfect mix of traditional art and digital art (but wow, are they expensive!)
If you are interested, let me know.  Wacom sells a myriad of different pens, most with replaceable nibs.  PS does a good job of letting you change the brush dynamics so that you can emulate brush types.  If you're using CS5, you gotta check out the mixer brush.  That thing is really cool.

    Hi.
    Yeah sorry.
    Cut the rope is a popular game app available on the app store or google play. That's why I left the link.
    The menu is made up of boxes. Each box has a pattern.
    With the following link you can see the texture even more closely. It is the green rectangle image at the top with green circles etc...

  • How to draw using photoshop?

    Hi
    I am an iphone developer and I need to develop some images for my iphone application. Images like a background with gradient, icons, etc.
    I am absolutely new to drawing and photoshop and was hoping if someone can guide me in the right direction.
    First, is Photoshop the right tool for this kind of stuff? There are so many products and I do not know which one is right for me.
    Can someone give me a link to a book or document where I can learn the basics of drawing using photoshop? Many books that i saw, all talked about working with photographs. But all i am interested in is drawing icons for iPhone applications.
    Thanks

    Hi Anvano,
    You don't actually have to draw the live features to be able to access the attributes. You can just call getLiveFeatureAttrs(x, y, tolerance) on your MapViewer instance to get hold of the attributes, you can use this in getToolTipText() of your component to show the attributes in a pop-up. No drawLiveFeatures needed! This way you still have to add a theme twice (once for drawing, once for the attributes) but it only gets drawn once, just in the nice style.

  • Can I use photoshop text styles and photoshop actions with creative cloud photography?

    I'm really confused by this subscription pricing. If I purchase the $9.99/month, do I get the full desktop app of Photoshop and Lightroom? But I see on this page Products they list something called Photoshop CC that costs twice as much. How is that different from the Creative Cloud Photography?
    My main question is whether I can use photoshop text styles and photoshop actions with Creative Cloud Photography, since I just purchased a bundle that includes these and I want to be able to use them. But I'd also like to understand what comes with all of the various products and how they are different.
    My other question is how is Lightroom different from Photoshop? I have a sense of what you can do in Photoshop but I don't know much about Lightroom at all.
    One more question: the free trial -- is it limited in any way besides the time length? If I do that, will I get a clear idea of all that I will be able to do once I subscribe, or are the functions limited in the trial?
    I tried to just send an email to Adobe to ask these questions but apparently they are not interested in responding to emails from people who are not yet paying customers, so I was directed here. Thanks very much for your help!

    I always like to trot this bit about Bridge once in a while or in the voice of the "Two Bobs" from Office Space,
    "Can you tell us exactly what it is you do around here?"
    What Adobe Bridge does:
    Bridge is the coordinating hub of the Creative Suite. Synchronizing color management settings for all suite programs is done from Bridge, and can only be done from Bridge, to take one important use.
    Bridge displays actual thumbnails of many more file types than Finder or Explorer. It also allows instant play of sound or video files more readily than the native OS file managers.
    Bridge allows direct access to file metadata, to embed copyright information  and keywords where appropriate (e.g., for corporate logo vector and raster files). It also displays the fonts used in an InDesign file, the swatches in an INDD or AI and the output plates (including spot color plates) they use.
    When managing the assets for a design project, Bridge allows quick and simple sorting, rating and custom labeling (with color flash indications) of assets. I can rate images according to whether they are rejects, possibles, for review by client, or approved. The filters built into Bridge allow instant isolation of only the approved images or designs in a folder, only the rejects (for deletion) or only files with certain ratings, no matter how many files it contains. It recognizes aspect ratios, so if I only need a landscape or a 16:9 image in a folder of hundreds of images, I turn off the aspect ratios I don't need.
    Once filtered, the remaining visible files can be selected and copied, moved, or deleted without affecting the rest of the contents of a folder.
    Collections are a massively useful feature. One of my clients is a performing arts center, and in a season we turn out dozens of ads, flyers, brochures, web banners, playbills, billboards and other collateral using the same assets over and over. These assets are organized by artist and/or show on disk, but I set up each season's repeating assets as a Collection in Bridge, so that I just have to open the collection and drag and drop these assets into new INDD, AI, PSD, HTML (in Dreamweaver), FLA or AE projects without having to navigate from folder to folder picking up individual files.
    Bridge's Favorites is another place I stack frequently-accessed folders, such as stock photography, backgrounds, and top-level folders for active projects.
    Assets can be divided into subfolders, but a quick toggle of "Show items from subfolders" exposes all of the assets in a single view while maintaining their organization. I will typically keep AIs, PSDs, EPSs, stock photography and client images in separate subfolders within a project. When I'm ready to start pulling assets into an InDesign layout, I toggle this on and simply drag what I need into the layout.
    Bridge comes with Adobe Camera Raw built in, which is many times faster than using Photoshop to adjust jpegs or tiffs for things like tonal range, white balance, cropping, spotting and sharpening, and is non-destructive.
    One tremendously useful Bridge function for InDesign CS5+ users is the "Show linked files" feature, which opens all the linked files in a layout into a single view, regardless of where they are physically located. I often use this when doing alternative layouts from a client-approved mockup for a campaign, to be certain the same assets are used in each piece, or when creating a motion graphic or interactive piece for the campaign in After Effects or Flash.
    The batch and image processing scripts built into Bridge automate things like creating web-ready small jpegs from multiple images, renaming large numbers of files in place or by copying to an alternative location, creating sets of PSD, png, jpeg or other file types from an assortment of image files, and so on.
    Bridge is so much a part of my daily workflow that on my main workstation I have one monitor dedicated to it almost 100%. Bridge just sits open 24/7, ready for use. I would run at half speed without it, no question.

  • How to define different styles to different levels of hierarchical titles?

    With difficulty, I found how to define a style for hierarchical titles, i.e.:
    1. First level
    1.1. Second level
    1.1.1. Third level
    etc.
    But all levels will have the same character parameters (font, size, etc).
    What I would like is, e.g.:
    1. First level
    1.1. Second level
    1.1.1. Third level
    In MS Word, it is easy: you define a different style for each level. In Pages, I found no way to do this, and no clue in the user's manual.
    Is it possible (I guess it should be), and if so, how?
    Thanks
    Éric

    You need to use the Styles Drawer. Go to: View > Show Styles Drawer. To define a Style, highlight the formatted text then click the plus sign at the bottom of the styles drawer. To delete a style, secondary click on the style and choose Delete Style.

  • How to draw a perfect circle and how to make sure it is perfectly centered inside a square

    How to draw a perfect circle and how to make sure it is perfectly centered inside a square in Photoshop elements using the Ellipse option.

    1. Create a square canvas.
    2. With the Elipse tool, hold down Shift (Shift forces a circle). Draw the circle anywhere on the canvas (Shape 1 in this example).
    3. Simplify the circle layer
    4. Ctrl-click the layer to select the circle.
    5. Copy the selection to the clipboard (Edit > Copy).
    6. Deselect the selection.
    7. Paste from the clipboard (Edit > Paste). The pasted circle (Layer 1) will be centered.
    8. Delete the original circle layer.
    NOTE: Step 6 is the key. This guarantees that the pasted circle will be centered.
    If you want a circle completely within a square you can simply draw and simplify a circle on any shape canvas. Ctlrl-click the circle to to select it and copy to the clipboard.
    Then do File > New from Clipboard. This creates the circle cropped to a square on transparent background.

  • How to draw and modify double lines with Adobe Illustrator?

    I need tot draw roadmaps. This should be easy using the pen tool, but my problem is that I cannot find a way to draw double lines with this tool. I have seen many fancy border styles and patterns. Some do have double or even quadruple lines, but the problem is than that they have an offset from the vector line and the space in between the two lines (the edges of the road) cannot be filled. Somewere I also found some pens called 'Double line 1.1' to 'Double line 1.6' but they also had an offset from the vector and I could not chance the size of the lines and the interval in between them independently.
    What I am looking for is a way to draw two lines in parallel and have the option tot fill the space in between with a color or even a pattern.
    The color and size of the lines should be changeable to make a distinction between several types of road.
    Is there an existing set of pencils for this purpose? It would be nice to be able to draw not only roads, but also railways and rivers!
    I am surely not the first person who needs to do this?
    I use AI version 6

    Jacob,
    Thanks for the answer. I have been searching for a solutions for a long
    time, but today I found the solution on a forum (not on this one). That
    solution is exactly as you described below, i.e. using a coloured line and a
    narrower white line on top of the first one. My problem was that I did not
    know how to create a custom brush based on the two lines. Now I know how to
    do that. However, I still have the problem. I can now draw double lines and
    I can change the color of the background line (the coloured one) but I
    cannot change the white colour of the narrower line. I assume that I have to
    completely redefine a new brush when I need to change that colour too.

  • How to draw a line using JSP?

    Does anyone know how to draw a line using a JSP? Any help is much appreciated.
    Regards,
    Navin Pathuru.

    Graphics classes are useless in JSP files; you can only output HTML tags to the client browser.
    You should be able to give just about any presentation look that you need with HTML and CSS. Have you played with styles? Here's a simple example that works in IE 5+ and Netscape 4.7:
    <HTML>
    <HEAD>
    <STYLE>
    .box {
    border-style:solid;
    border-color:black;
    border-right-width: 1px;
    border-top-width: 1px;
    border-left-width: 1px;
    border-bottom-width: 1px;
    .line {
    border-right-width: 1px;
    border-top-width: 0px;
    border-left-width: 0px;
    border-bottom-width: 0px;
    border-style: solid;
    border-color: red;
    width:1pt;
    height:100%;
    </STYLE>
    </HEAD>
    <BODY>
    <TABLE CELLPADDING=1 CELLSPACING=0 WIDTH=100>
    <TR><TD ALIGN=CENTER><SPAN CLASS="box">Field One</SPAN></TD></TR>
    <TR HEIGHT=50><TD ALIGN=CENTER><SPAN CLASS="line"></SPAN></TD></TR>
    <TR><TD ALIGN=CENTER><SPAN CLASS="box">Field Two</SPAN></TD></TR>
    <TR HEIGHT=50><TD ALIGN=CENTER WIDTH=50%><SPAN CLASS="line"></SPAN></TD></TR>
    <TR><TD ALIGN=CENTER><SPAN CLASS="box">Field Three</SPAN></TD></TR>
    </TABLE>
    </BODY>
    </HTML>
    Have fun!

  • How to draw a line???

    I am a long time Photoshop user, but new to "Elements". I cannot figure out how to draw a line??? The Help says "To draw a line or arrow...... 1. In the Editor, select the Line tool." Ummm.....WHERE??? HOW??? If I knew how to select the Line tool I wouldn't have gone to the Help file.
    Where is the "Editor"?? All I see at the top in the "Rectangular Marquee Tool" and the "Elliptical Marquee Tool" .....I see no Line tool on the left (where it used to be in PhotoShop) or on the top.
    Jeff

    Jeff,
    I use PEv.3. The line tool is accessed via the shape selection tool.
    Click U. Hold the shift key as you drag and you will have a straight line.
    Editor refers to the component of Elements utilized for enhancement and manipulation. Organizer in the Win version deals with storage and structured organization, as well as special projects.

  • How to draw a smile similar to the SOCL logo?

    Hi,
    How to draw a smile similar to the SOCL logo? Please send me .PSD file, I want to know!
    I have seen the SOCL Logo, a smile exists there, and I've tried making similar but failed
    several times, I wish somebody could send me a .PSD with the logo and layers etc.
    This is the logo btw: http://www.indiesunlimited.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/12/socl-logo.jpg
    Thanks in advanced....

    This forum is meant to help you learn how to use Photoshop, not for asking us to do things for you.
    If you want to replicate the smile exactly and don't want to use the Pen Tool, here are a few steps on how to do so:
    1. Grab the Magic Wand Tool and select the smile.
    2. Go to Select > Refine Edge... to fine-tune your selection.
    3. Go to Layer > New > Layer Via Copy to add your selection to a new layer.
    You should now have the smile portion of the logo on its own so that you can edit it freely.
    Cheers,
    Kendall

  • Drawing/Doodle function for Skype

    Hi there,
    I'm currently studying and occasionally need to ask my friends for help.
    What I need to ask them is too hard to explain in voice or write down in text (via chat)
    Most of the time I need to show them.
    Usually I have to draw an image on paper, and then send them the image file (or hold it to the camera - long enough that they can view it and understand what I'm trying to tell them)
    It would be so idea if there was a live drawing/doodle function on skype (for mobile tablet or even PC touch screens) where I could chat to my friends, and draw things at the same time.
    While a seperate app could be created, it would be great if this could be incorporated with Skype (so that I didnt have to use two seperate programs).
    What do you think? Please let me know! I really need this function!
