How to Drill Through from Hyperion Reporting to Oracle - GL by using FDM?

HI
I am new to FDM.
I already Installed and Configured FDM.
I need to provide Drill through functionality on Hyperion Planning Workspace (Hyperion Reports built using Hyperion Financial Reporting Studio and Data Forms) to Oracle Financials(GL) by using FDM.
I think 1st i need to develop Application in FDM Workbench to Push data from Oracle Financials to Hyperion Essbase.
than i need to enable "Drill" on Hyperion Finaical Reports.
Can you please share link , guide or any thing.
Its urgent please.

Hi,
Data loaded in HFM 11.1.2.1 using FDM 11.1.2.1 and it has been replaced by ERP integrator 11.1.2.1.501. When we perform drill through from Financial reporting report it is navigating to the FDM landing page instead of ERP integrator landing page. In FDM landing page, showing the ERROR:
"Error: Error Retrieving recordset"
Anyone please help me to solve this issue.

Hi ,
My guess is that , when you loaded the data from ERPi the drill regions created by FDM have been over written. Hence you are not able to drill down to the FDM page. This happens in most of the scenarios , where if the data is loaded across an intersection using FDM and then again the data is loaded in the same intersection using some other way like Flat Files or ERPi the Drill Regions or Drill POVs get compromised.
To confirm whether your FDM drill back is working or not , create a simple form using any of the intersections from your dimensionS ( not the same ones used above ) and load a single line of data using FDM across those intersections in the form. Try drilling back to the FDM Landing Page and check. Same way , create a report for the same intersections and check drill back to FDM. Remember to check the :Drill - Through" check box in the property grid in the Grid Properties for that report.

Physical layer:
- Create a complex join between the Essbase generation and your detail table. E.g.: Gen6,Market = ATTRIBS.CNTRY
BMM layer:
- Go to the logical table "Market" (for example) and drag the ATTRIBS.CNTRY column on to the Gen6,Market column.
- Now pull over the other attributes from your Oracle table into the Market logical table...this will result in a second LTS within the sources.
- Drag and drop the logical columns you just got from Oracle on the lowest level of the Market dimension hierarchy. In this example, onto Gen6,Market.
- Alternatively, create levels below Gen6.
- Make sure your LTS have the correct content levels set
Presentation layer:
- Pull your chagnes through to your presentation catalog(s).
Should be all.

What are approaches ?
Weather it is possible by using FDM? or ERPi adapter ?
Or it requires all Tools (FDM, ODI, ERPi ) ?

FDM/ODI/ERPI, but note it is feasible to load data using ERPi without FDM (but still need ODI installed) in which case it should drill back via the ERPi landing stage.
Before going any further i think you need to decide on your data flows and whether you use ERPi or ERPi / FDM to load data, and perhaps search the internet and read some documentation to understand the system, or, get some consultancy.

Error drill-through from Hyperion to Oracle GL with ERPI

I am using ERPI to load data from Oracle GL 11.5 to Hyperion PLanning 11.1.2.1.
The data are well loaded. Tje drill-through from Hyperion Planning to FDM is ok.
But whe I try to execute the drill-through from FDM to Oracle eBS, I have the following error message :
Invalid ERPI URL
Return value from erpi web service : java.lang.exception: Invalid DataKey (33487765): No record found.
ERPI Data Key value: 33487765
I have another application with the same source and the same target and the drill-through is ok.

Are you modifying the source value in any way before import into FDM? Using an import format in FDM for example?

Pre-requisites for Drill-Down from Hyperion Planning to Oracle GL

I am using Hyperion Planning 11.1.2 for maintaining budgets. I do comparison of actual vs budget in Hyperion. I export actual results from Oracle General Ledger (11.5.10) in flat file and upload to Hyperion planning using FDM. I maintain mapping in FDM for flat file and the Hyperion members.
Q1) Is it possible to drill down actual numbers from Hyperion planning to Oracle General Ledger via FDM?
Q2) If yes, what are prerequisites for using drill-down functionality?
Can anyone please answer and refer some link/material that may help me in setting this up?

Drill through from Hyperion Financial Report (Data Source as Essbase)

Hi All,
I would like to create a Report in Financial Reporting studio by connecting to a Essbase application. Once i open the Report, if i click on Metadata, can it take in to Relational Database tables (Drill through capability) ? Is this option available in FR Studio ? Pls. help

How to drill down from summary report to detail report using RRI?

Dear all:
A problem about RRI. Please help me!
1.I create a BEx query 'Q1' to show summary data.
2.I create a BEx query 'Q2' to show detail data.
3.In Q1, all the products are shown each row.
       The 1st coulmn is 'Balance in the begin', it shows how many customer claim cases are opened before this week.
       The 2nd coulmn is 'New', it shows how many customer claim cases are initalized in this week.
       The 3rd coulmn is 'Close', it shows how many customer claim cases are closed in this week.
       The 4th coulmn is 'Balance', it shows how many customer claim cases are still opened now. And this column is calculated by this fomula as follow:
         'Balance in the begin' + 'New' - 'Close'
   4.In Q2, it lists each customer claim case. Include ClaimNo, Sold-To Party, ProductNo...
   5. I set Q1 as sender, Q2 as receiver.
   6. If I focus on the value of 'New' or 'Close' and then go to 'Q2', the correspond detail calim information in 'Q2'. But it is fail if I focus on the value 'Balance'.
   Why?

I don't know if you can use the hyperlink to call a subreport but the following has worked for me in Crystal 10:
1. In your main report create a group on the field you want to pass to the subreport.
2. In the Group Footer, use the "Insert Section below" menu command so that you have a Group Footer 1a and a Group Footer 1b.
3. Put your table fields in the Group Footer 1b section (this would be similar to your Details data).
4. Put the sub report in the Group Footer 1a section. Set up the links to the subreport from a table field in your main report.
5. Right-click on the sub-report, select "Format Sub-report". Click on the "x-2" button to the right of the Suppress option and enter "DrillDownGroupLevel = 0" in the "Formula Workshop-Formula Format Editor-Suppress" window and save it.
When you double-click on your data field (i.e. the field in Group footer 1b) it should drill-down and run your subreport.

Drill through from Reports to Analyzer

Is it possible to have drill through from Hyperion Reports to Analyzer? Do we need to perform an extra installation procedure for doing this?<BR>Thanks<BR>Arun

Has anyone replied to you regarding this topic? I'm trying to find out as well. I want to drill from Financial Reports, with Essbase as the data source to Relational Data, similar to Web Analysis. I understand that this is not likely, but would like some confirmation with a technical explanation. Perhaps Financial Reports does not use the same API or adm process that the Excel Add-In and Web Analysis uses? From my understanding, the relational mapping goes through Essbase. If the main data source for Reports is Essbase, why can't it read the mappings see the relationship with AIS? Any help is appreciated.<BR>

ERPI: how to set up drill through from Planning to EBS

I encountered the following message when I tried to drill :

I think I didn't set up the drill through functionality properly.

Can you check the log file for any errors? Also, check if the drill regions are created in the application. You can navigate to process details in ERPI and select the show log link for the corresponding process id. That should indicate if the drill regions were created on the target.

Incidentally we had been trying to use Essbase studio as an option.But there are 2 oints that we are trying to investigate.
1) Can we bypass deployment of data and metadata everytime through Essbase studio after the initial outline is delpoyed? In the system architecture the relational tables are populated using ODI. We would like to load the data and metadata through ODI into the cube. Eeven then can we implement drill thru bypassing deployment through Essbase Studio?
2) If Essbase studio is imperative for drill through then what are the batch automation options for deployment through Essbase studio? Ideally the option should be after the relational tables are populated through ODI then the Essbase deployment should be invoked and batch script should load the data and metadata through Essbase Studio.
Please advise.

Drill-through from Workspace not possible?

Hello everybody,
I am working on Hyperion System 9.3.1
I have a cube with some drill-through reports.
I can drill-through from Add-In Excel and WebAnalysis reports but not from Workspace.
Example: For the same WebAnalysis report
- when opened with WA Studio allows drill-through at double click in the cell;
- when opened from Workspace, at double-click in the cell the Related Content windows opens up but I can't see my drill reports. Is that normal?

In version 11.1 they added support for cube drill-through. In 9.3.1 you'll have to do it manually. Here are some ideas
- Create queries for your cube and relational data.
- Limit the result of your relational data with very specific filters to avoid enormous number of rows.
- Create your table or pivot for your cube data and add a script for cell double click.
- Set your limit based on the intersections, set the filters for your relational query and do a database process.
- Now show your relational table.

Drill through from smartview to FDM gives HTTP 400 BAD Request

Hi All,
I've loaded data using FDM 11.1.1.3 to HPCM (Essbase)
I retrieved the data in Smartview and when moving my mouse over the cell i see the Drill through tekst balloon.
But when drilling through via Hyperion->Drill-Through-Reports it goes to the url :
http://<EAS SERVER>:13080/HyperionFDM/AuthorizedPages/IntersectionSummaryByLocation.aspx
instead of
http://<FDMSERVER>/HyperionFDM/AuthorizedPages/IntersectionSummaryByLocation.aspx
The first URL is in the Smartview settings but if i change that Smartview doesn't work anymore.
Has anyone a clue how to solve this?

How to exctract data from a report to use it in a process

Hi! I would like to know how to exctract data from a report to use it in a process. Let's say that I have a report which have following fields: id_person, name_person. And then, I want to make a process which introduce the id_person (from report) into an associative tabel. How can I reffer to the fields from my report?
I was thinking about something like that( this should be the code from my process)
insert into associative_table(id_person)
values(id_person) or
insert into associative_table(id_person)
values(Report_name.id_person) but it doesn't work....

Another option, use collections.
Create an on load process that loads all the rows you would have in your report into a collection:

Then, instead of your report selecting from the table, have it select from the collection, this way your display will match what's in the collection:

Then you can have a button on the form that steps through the collection, one element at a time and does whatever you want it to.
