How to easily mute iPhone at night or while I sleep?

Hello,
I was wondering if there is an easy way to mute my iPhone 3G at night when I sleep? I usually dock it on the night stand next to my bed so it can charge. I also use it as my alarm clock so I need alarms to still work and to still hear phone calls in case of an emergency and work. I guess I need something that mutes all the other sounds such as email and sms. It keeps waking me up at night mostly with email that is not an emergency.
I have been turning off all the sounds in settings>sounds but that is getting old and I forget sometimes to turn them back on. I also can mute it because calls will be muted too.
Any suggestions?

I got the Silent Night in the mail yesterday afternoon (super fast shipping) and it works great! Definitely worth the money. I'm very happy with it and it's super small. I got several emails last night and not one woke me up. This thing is great. It does exactly what it says and looks awesome in my dock (can't even tell it's there). Thumbs up and recommended if you don't want notifications waking you up at night. When you undock it, all the notifications work again....very convenient for those of us that forget to turn them back on after turning them off in the settings.

OK, for some of you that may have the same problem or question as me. I have been testing my MAC Book Pro for ways to continue to power the usb while laptop in standby or off. I have found the following thing to work or not work.
1. The laptop doesn't send any power to your USB's when it is powered off reguardless if it is plugged in or not.
2. If laptop is put in standby no power is sent to USB's unless the power cord is plugged in on the laptop. So once again if you plug your laptop in and then put it in standby it does still send power to the USB's when requested.
So the bottom line is, On my last laptop (toshiba) I was given an option to go into system preference and make a change that allowed my laptop to continue to send power to USB's when requested while in standby or powered off. I was hoping I could do the same thing with my new smokin Mac Book Pro but I haven't found that kind of option in the MAC.

How can i have a second function running while Threat.sleep is active?

I am not that familiar with the Threat.sleep class, and here is my question:
Is it possible that you can execute something else while Threat.sleep is pausing a function, if so, how is it possible?
If not is there an another way how i can let a function wait for a specifi amount of time dou it makes it move and douring this period, is it possible that an other function executes?

How to easily mute all sounds but still use phone?

For the life of me, why doesn't the volume control on the side of the iPhone go down all the way to mute like the iPad does. There is no one convenient place to go to turn off sounds while in a meeting but yet still use the phone without turning it off. Turning it off is not an option for a lot of people.

Iphone 4 battery draining while in sleep mode

I have noticed over the past few days that after putting my iphone 4 into *sleep mode* and not using it for several hours that the battery percentage is significantly lower after powering it back up. I first became aware of this after waking up to find my battery was at 50% (8 hours before I went to sleep it was 90%). Just today I was using my phone and the battery was at exactly 85%, I turn it off and an hour later I check the battery at its at 77%!!! I then go for a 45min run (leaving the phone at the house) and coming back I see that it is at 73%.
I don't know if this is a battery issue or a problem with the wifi/3g working when the phone is in sleep mode. My parents both have the 3GS and they do not experience this with their phones.
I have had this phone for 2 weeks and I don't want to have to send it back so please tell me this is a software/settings problem and not with the hardware!!
I haven't changed any settings or downloaded any apps since I got the phone (Except for the free case app). I did however sync my email address with the phone so it may be a problem with that I don't know.
I am also on the original firmware that came with the iPhone 4 I have not updated that yet.

That could be the issue. Your phone is only getting 1 signal or no service, and is trying to work hard trying to find good service in your basement. Try setting the phone on the first floor where you get good signal and see if that fixes your battery issue,.

I don't know where you read that but on the app description page - this is what it states.

That doesn't make it sound like you can use the phone keyboard to edit documents on the iPad. Maybe I missed it somewhere. It just makes it sound like the keyboard now rotates to landscape on the phone and the touch.

I started a icloud backup of my iphone last night before I went to bed as I was told at the apple store yesterday that it could take up to 3 hours to backup. When I woke up this morning it was still going and said 15 hours remaining. After an additional hour or so the screen still read 15 hours remaining. I need to understand how I am suppose to backup the device to icloud without having to take this long as I cannot be without my phone for an entire day or longer due to work requirements.

If you're in recovery mode, all data is ALREADY lost. You've no choice but to restore.

It's pretty easy. Google "ehow iPhone ringtones" to learn how to make them on a PC. There are also website that will create ringtones for the iPhone. I believe audiko and iringer are two but I've never used either.

Hold down the mute button on the steering wheel until you hear,"Ready" and then say "Voice". That will bring up Siri.

HT4859 how to find my iphone if it is offline

Hi! I lost my iphone Friday night and have been unable to 'find my iphone' because it is offline. I clicked on lost and track phone and put in an alternative number for whomever has it to call, but it's still offline.
I can't figure out on itunes or icloud how to see when my last back-up was.
If you have any information about how to turn the phone online or help with what I can do towards my situation PLEASE contact me.

It can't be tracked if it's offline, and you can't force it online remotely. If it shows on the device list in Find My iPhone, you can issue a lost mode command (see http://help.apple.com/icloud/#mmfc0f0165), which will be executed if it ever does go online. If it does, you will be informed via email.

Replying to my own post - heh. I downloaded iExplorer (http://www.macroplant.com/iexplorer/) which allowed me access to the files on the phone and there was the phantom movie in the DCIM folder. Deleted it, and all is well - although I still have 0.65gb of Other in iTunes.....

Did you purchase this device from Apple or an authorized reseller? It sounds as if you had a device that was jailbroken/hacked to operate on your carrier. Upon updating the iOS, it is now locked back to the original carrier the device was locked to.
Only the carrier the device is locked to can authorize an unlock. You will need to make contact with that carrier and see if they provide unlocking services, and if they do, if you qualify for an unlock. Otherwise, you are out of luck. One that carrier can take care of the unlocking.
