How to edit audio settings in CS3

I don't want to use Adobe Media Encoder. I'm using classic Export>Movie tab. I need to edit audio bitrate, but I can only edit Sample rate which is in Hz.
I need it to be 128kbps
Additional settings cannot be clicked, since I have a small number of encoders.

Lossless means that no visual information is lost during the compression stage. The entire visual image can be exactly reconstructed. Uncompressed is one such method of achieving this.
I do not use the Xvid codec, so I can't comment on the quality of external encoders. VideoHelp.com is a very good resource for this kind of thing, however. I'd do some research over there.

How to edit PPD List Illustrator CS3?

Hi all,
Recently updated a printer driver, which has resulted in a really long PPD list through which I have to scroll when I send something  to print. I know in Quark there's a way that one can edit the list by turning off unwanted PPDs. Is this possible in Illustrator? a nd how might I do it?

You will have to teach your user how to edit the source in an
external application.
Make it possible:
1. Edit, Administer websites
2. Users and Roles, pick the proper role, Edit Role Settings
3. go to Editing and check 'Allow users to edit source in
external application'
To adjust which application:
1. Edit, Preferences
2. File editors
3. pick Web page Source
4. adjust the setting as you like with the program you
want

How to edit audio without disturbing video

Hi:
I have working with FCP 6 on another office Mac and got 7 for my iMac. On the other machine, I could edit audio (cutting, trimming, deleting, etc) without disturbing the video clip tied to it. However, now I cannot. If I highlight the audio track, I also highlight the video track. Any cutting or trimming I doto audio results in a trim or cut of the video.
How do I make it a default that these two tracks should be treated separately?
Any help would be really great.

This looks like it will work. However, is there anything in settings to, by default, only select the one audio or video track that I want to edit rather than selecting the audio or video tied to it too?

unfortunately i have to use 1.4 which makes this a bit more tricky.
my other idea was to use system.setProperties to set the 2 proxy fields and then afterwards set them back to what they were -- however in the case they were null I get an NPE when I try and set them back, so I'd need a workaround for that as well.

Apple: How to Save Audio Settings in QTP 7 ???

Searching through the forums here and see that I'm apparently chasing my tail here trying to save Audio settings on a QT movie that I need to boost the audio on.
Is it true that we can't save our modified audio settings with Pro??? If so, WHAT are we supposed to do in order to be able to accomplish this? Sheesh, I would NOT have upgraded if I'd know this - removing features without notice doesn't seem to be the way to play nice. I've got to believe that this is a DEFECT that someone within Apple is aware of and is fixing.
Someone at Apple care to comment? I see that I'm not the only one unhappy with the change.
Please advise and I also welcome suggestions for another option out there.

I use MPEG Streamclip to adjust brightness, contrast, saturation, and/or volume settings. However, I normally do this in conjunstion with recompression to an iPod compatible format.

Since QT 7 is supposedly based on an all new framework, possibly there was no choice in the matter for one reason or another. I agree with your frustration. Have you used Apple's QT feedback to request these features be interegrated/reintegrated in future upgrades. If enough people make their wishes known, perhaps Apple will eventually take heed.

How to edit audio file in iTunes, rename file

I finally figured out how to join mulitple tracks I'd ripped from a CD into one file, but now there's space between each track as it plays. Is there a way for me to edit the spaces out?
Where do I find the file for the new track? I need to upload it to a website.
Also, I want to change the name of the now-combined track, which iTunes automatically named "Audio CD." Is there a way for me to do that? Can't find an option for that.

Removing dead space once you've made a contiguous file is going to mean chopping it up again, and possibly a loss of quality as you re-encode the audio.
Try again from the beginning using either MPEG Audio Scissors or Audacity.

Hi, I have a problem in editing a recorded audio. Can anyone please help me with this one? The scenario is this...
I get my audio data by reading right from the line using targetdataline read method. Then I store the data in byte arrays. I tried to edit the values of each byte (in the byte array) by converting it to its short value, then alter its value before storing the new value to the source byte address.. Am I doing the right thing in the conversion and editing process?
My audio configuration is this:

sample rate = 8000
sample size in bits = 8
channels = mono

My simple VOIP works well without the encryption process. My real problem here is how can I open/edit the data that is stored in the byte array. Simple conversion of each byte to its short value doesn't seem to solve my problem. My RSA works well on data structures integer, string, double, float, hex, biginteger and etc. I have read some articles that says that audio samples are stored depending on the size of the sample bits used, and in my case its 8 bits (-128 to 127). My perception here is that if each sample is stored in a byte, then there would be a corresponding hexadecimal value for that byte. Am I right?(Can anyone enlighten me with this one???) My plan here is to encrypt and decrypt the audio data byte per byte so I need to get the audio sample data of a recorded audio.

How to Edit Audio Properly

Hi, I am trying to figure out how to trim /fade my sounds in Flash CS5 but it is a nightmare. So at frame 800 I want to start to fade the sound from 100% to 0% on frame 850, but whatever I try it just get's mucked up. Those little handles just keep duplicating when I try and drag them. Is there any way to delete the points and how do I get the left and right to be identical.
Also, how do I fade the sound? I mean what is the best way to fade the sound so at frame 800 the sound starts to fade from 100% to 0% on frame 850?

Instead of beating yourself up trying to edit the sound in Flash, why not use a real audio editor like Audacity:

using your Flash doc frame rate and the time of the audio file, you could determine exactly where to start and end the fade using time in Audacity instead of frames in Flash.

How to edit audio files recorded on Ipod

I'm new at this! I'm recording long interviews on my Ipod, which get downloaded as Voice Memos into Itunes. I need to edit those files, and thought Garage Band would be just the program to do it with. Now I'm not sure it will work. The original files are in.wav format, but I figured out how to translate them into .mp3 format, too. Regardless, Garage Band won't recognize them. What is the best way to edit those interviews? Is there a way to do it with Garage Band? If I have to look to some other app, what do you recommend? Thanks for any light you can shed!

If they are in itunes, you should be able to just drag them from the itunes sidebar area in garageband to edit them.
If not and mp3 isnt working try converting it into aiff although wav works fine on garageband too.

To make sure I understand, if you go to Settings > Networks and Connections > Mobile Network, do you see a APN option along the bottom of your screen?
If you do not, turn off your device, remove the SIM card, restart the device and you should see the APN screen which will allow you enter these details (APN, Username, Password & Authentication Type). After entering these details, insert your SIM and test. Thanks!

How to send FCP edited audio clips for processing in Soundtrack?

How do I send just the edited audio clips from hour long files to be processed in Soundtrack from Final Cut?
I need help as I'm trying to adjust some edited audio clips in Soundtrack Pro but when I send them from FCP to Soundtrack - it opens the whole original audio file and then any adjustments I apply in Soundtrack are being processed over the whole audio file not just the short edited audio clip that I want to adjust.
Normally I don't mind as my scenes are usually short and Soundtrack analysis over the whole scenes audio is usually desirable, but this projects files have been transfered from tapes as hour long AVI files (all the tapes clips transfered into one hour long files) and every FCP edited audio clip I send is being treated as an hour long audio file in Soundtrack.
I'm sure there's a simple answer for settings but I haven't been able to find it. Any advice appreciated.

Thanks Javi, my sequence is an hour and half duration so what I'm trying to do is save processing time in Soundtrack by just processing adjustments on the few audio clips that need processing.
I have set Soundtrack to open referenced audio only and with 5 sec in and out handles, but it still imports the whole original audio file into Soundtrack timeline upto the selected clip, I then double click in Soundtrack on the clip in brackets, and it then selects just the audio clip I want to adjust, then Soundtrack will just process on the edited clip but when I 'render to action' it seems to apply changes to whole original audio file - taking longer than I want.... frustrating
Also the sound always sounds very different in FCP than Soundtrack even after 'rendering to action' and rendering in FCP... this is not the easy workflow I expect from such expensive software programs, I understood that they work together in a fully integrated way, what's the problem! This is wasting my precious time and preventing me from editing not helping me, this is a common problem and yet I can find no help in the user manual - I'm not impressed!

How do I edit audio memos?

I need to review, edit, and evaluate composing and arranging sessions on my iPhone5. I can load audio files into audio memos pro on my phone, and, following the Imesart manual, set and name markers. I don't understand what to do next, how to edit using markers, how to change the lengths of sections, nor how to use tags.
