How to edit CLASSPATH in TOMCAT?

Hello...
How can I access my classes in my JSP file if I use Tomcat?
I have put classes12.zip in my classpath (my java console
application recognized the classes). But my JSP (through
TOMCAT) cannot recognized the classes.
Please help.
Thank you.

Tomcat generally ignores the CLASSPATH environment variable. Typically shared classes are copied to TOMCATHOME/lib (ZIPs and JARs)
I've heard from many peer developers not to use zip but to rename them to JAR. Not sure why though; I've had success using both.

  • How to edit classpath for Domain Admin Server?

    Hi!
    Please, explain me how can I edit the classpath settings for Domain Admin Server of Sun java Application Server 8.2?
    I need to remove some classpath made by application installer in order to make the application work.
    It is said in documentation that I have to login to DAS first, but I can't see how can I make it through Server's web-interface :(

    Hi Rengasamy,
    If you want to set the CLASSPATH for all the managed Servers available in your Domain then "$DOMAIN_HOME/bin/setDomainEnv.sh" has an Environment variable with name "PRE_CLASSPATH" which is usually preferred for Patches or any JAR which we want to override from the WebLogic's existing classpath.
    But if you don;t want to override WebLogic's default CLASSPATH rather include your Jars in it then please add your JAR filenem including absolute path inside the "POST_CLASSPATH" variable inside "$DOMAIN_HOME/bin/setDomainEnv.sh"
    Apart from this another option will be putting your Jars inside the "$DOMAIN_HOME/lib" directory because The jars located in this directory will be picked up and added dynamically to the end of the server classpath at server startup. The jars will be ordered lexically in the classpath. The domain library directory is one mechanism that can be used for adding application libraries to the server classpath. It is possible to override the $DOMAIN_DIR/lib directory using the -Dweblogic.ext.dirs system property during startup. This property specifies a list of directories to pick up jars from and dynamically append to the end of the server classpath using java.io.File.pathSeparator as the delimiter between path entries.
    If you are starting your Managed Servers using NodeManager then please refer to the following Article.:

  • Configuring classpath in Tomcat 4.1.12

    Hi,
    I have an existing system which consists of JSP files and jars running on Tomcat 3.2.1 on Linux 6.1 platform. I have to upgrade it to Tomcat 4.1.12 on Red Hat Linux 8.0. However, now I am having problems in loading the jar files. Before the jars were under a different location than the Tomcat location as also the JSP files. and i used to simply run a script to load the jars on to the classpath, after i start the Tomcat server. However, now in the new system I am not being able to load the jars in the classpath. Tomcat simply won't find the jar files. How do I point Tomcat to the jar location? I would also like to mention here that I am being able to load the JSP files. In the context path, under server.xml, i am pointing the docbase to my application path. Is there any option to point to my classes also here?
    I am using a similar context path as below:
    <Host name="myapplication.com">
    <Context path=""
    debug="0"
    docbase="/home/opt/myapplication/myfiles"
    crossContext="true"
    reloadable="true"
    trusted="false"
    >
    Also I am not using WARs
    If somebody can suggest any solution it will surely be a great help.
    Thanking you in advance,
    Regards,

    coz, i tried this option by editing the catalina.sh file. But I got the following exception: "Servlet.service() for servlet jsp threw exception
    org.apache.jasper.JasperException"
    malcolmmc did u mean this?...or is there any other way where i put a link to my jar files in common/lib...?

  • In UNIX how to set classpath

    I know nothing about UNIX. pls kindly give me some instruction on how to set classpath in UNIX, thanks!

    best way is to set in your .profile (name differs between different shells, but whatever the OS/Shell is, it should starts with . and has a 'profile' string in the name). Try ls -a to find the file, edit it, insert lines like this:
    CLASSPATH=xxxx
    export CLASSPATH
    Use : to seperate different path/files.
    then every time when you log in, the classpath is setted.
    if you already logged in, use the above lines in command line, but it only set class path of the current shell/console.
    anyway, you should learn Unix before you do anything, or you'll have more trouble. do a search in yahoo or google to find on line tuturials, and SUN's Java tuturial has some basic instructions on how to use Java in Unix.

  • Setting classpath in Tomcat on AIX

    Refer to the Tomcat's documentation regarding classpaths and classloading. The underlying operating system doesn't really matter.

  • How to edit a PDF in Photoshop CS4

    Hi there,
    I'm having some real trouble trying to figure out how to edit a PDF in photoshop cs4. So i need to edit/change text, move things around, that type of thing.
    I work in Windows.
    Could someone give me a bit a low down on how this is done?
    Much appreciated,
    Victoria

    You can open them but you will totally rasterize everything.
    PDFs are not intended to be edited. They are a final format but as
    mentioned you can use Acrobat for some minor text edits or use it to
    extract the images to Photoshop for further editing.

  • How to edit JVC/Panasonic/Canon .mod video in Windows Movie Maker then upload to YouTube for sharing

    Quick View:
    Part 1: How to import .mod video to Windows Movie Maker
    Part 2: How to edit the video with Windows Movie Maker
    Part 3: How to upload your video to YouTube
    Know More:
    1. Which Camcorders record video in .MOD type?
    2. What file types are supported by Windows Movie Maker?
    3. What file types are supported by YouTube?
    Part 1: How to import .mod video to Windows Movie Maker
    Step 1: Load files
    First copy the MOD file from your video camera to your hard drive, then download, install and run MOD Converter, click the "Add Files" button to browse your computer hard disc and load the MOD/TOD video files you want to convert to the program.
    Step 2: Output Setting
    In the bottom of the main interface, select an output format supported by Windows Movie Maker for each video file and specify a directory on your computer to save the output files.
    Step 3: Start convert
    Click "Start" button on right bottom of the main interface, you are allowed to start conversion.
    Step 4: Import converted video to Windows Movie Maker
    Click on "File". Then click on "Import". A window will appear. In the window, navigate to the video clip you converted just now. Then double click on the file. You'll see the icon for the file in your Windows Movie Maker "Collections".
    Part 2: How to edit the video with Windows Movie Maker
    Step 1: Add transitions and special effects
    In the Movie Tasks pane, under Edit Movie, click View video transitions.
     Preview transitions by double-clicking them and watching the Preview Monitor. Once you've found a transition you like, drag it from the Video Transitions pane, under Edit Movie pane to the box between two of your clips. This inserts the transition between the two clips.
    Step 2: Add titles and credits
    If you want to add a title before, after, or on top of a clip, click the clip on the storyboard or timeline.
    In the Movie Tasks pane, under Edit Movie, click Make titles or credits.
    Step 3: Add Music
    In the Movie Tasks pane in Movie Maker, under Capture Video, click Import audio or music.
     In the Import File dialog box, click the name of the song you want to use in the background. Then click Import. This adds your song to your collection but does not add it to your video. Drag the song from the collection to the video clip where you want the music to start playing.
    Step 4: Add narration
    If you have a desktop computer, connect a microphone. Microphones are available from most electronics stores. If you have a portable computer, you can use the built-in microphone. However, you will get a better-quality recording if you connect an external microphone. In Movie Maker, click the Tools menu, and then click Narrate Timeline. On the timeline, click the clip you want to narrate. You can narrate clips one at a time, or you can narrate the entire movie all at once. If you narrate individual clips, you can rearrange them later and keep your narration synchronized. If the narration is too loud or too soft in comparison to the movie, right-click the narration on your timeline, and then click Volume.
    Step 5: To save your movie to your computer
    In the Movie Tasks pane, under Finish Movie, click Save to my computer.
     The Save Movie Wizard appears. On the Save Movie File page, type a name for your movie. You can also choose a folder to save it in by clicking the Browse button, but My Videos (the default) is usually the best place to save your movie. Then click Next. On the Movie Setting page, click Next to accept the default setting of Best quality for playback on my computer.
    Movie Maker saves your movie, which might take several minutes. On the Completing the Save Movie Wizard page, click Finish. If Play movie when I click Finish was selected (it is selected by default), the movie will automatically play in Windows Media Player. Now you can watch your videos anytime by opening your My Videos folder and double-clicking your movie.
    Part 3: How to upload my video to YouTube
    A video file should meet the following requirements so that it can be uploaded to YouTube site.
    1. In an acceptable format: WMV, MPEG4, MOV, AVI and MPEG.
    2. Video length is shorter 10 minutes.
    3. File size is smaller than 1GB.
    Step 1: Sign up a YouTube account or Gmail account, then click the Upload button on any YouTube web page. See the figure below:
    Step 2: Type in the information of your video file, including Title, Description, Category and tags. To increase the chances that your video can be easily found, you should put as much information as possible.
    Step 3: Set this video to be public or private.
    Step 4: Click the "Upload a video" button. When you see the next window, click the "Browse" button to select the video file you want to upload. Then click the "Upload Video" button to upload it. After the upload is finished, you will see the completion page. See the figure below:
    Step 5: Click "My Videos" and you will see the video.
    Know More:
    1. Which Camcorders record video in .MOD type?
    MOD is the video file type used on many digital camcorders, such as the JVC Everio, the Canon FS100 and the Panasonic D-Snap SD-card camcorders. Accompanying the MOD video file, there exists MOI file that stands for the index file for MOD.
    2. What file types are supported by Windows Movie Maker?
    You can import files with the following file name extensions into Windows Movie Maker to use in your project:
    Video files: .avi, .wmv, .mpeg, .mpg., .asf, m1v, .mp2, .mp2v, .mpe, , .mpv2, and .wm.
    Audio files: .mp3, .wav, wma, .mp2, .aiff, .aif, .aifc,.asf, .au,.mpa, and .snd.
    Picture files:.jpeg, .jpg, .jpe, .png, .bmp, .dib, .emf, .gif, .jfif,.tif, .tiff, and .wmf
    3. What file types are supported by YouTube?
    YouTube accepts a wide range of video file formats.The video files below are all accepted by YouTube. Some video formats work best and are most compatible with certain computers, software or devices. Windows Media Video (.WMV)
    .3GP (cell phones)
    .AVI (windows)
    .MOV (mac)
    .MP4 (ipod/psp)
    .MPEG
    .FLV (adobe flash)
    .SWF (shockwave flash)v

  • How to edit a file

    Ok I probably realise that I've missed something in the literature on installing arch somewhere along the way, but I've spent the last 3 hours trying to find how get past this stage to no avail.
    I've managed to realise I have a dhcp connection.
    For DHCP IP
    For this option, you need the dhcpcd package (already available on most installations). To make use of it, edit /etc/rc.conf like this:
    eth0="dhcp"
    INTERFACES=(eth0)
    ROUTES=(!gateway)
    but when i type "edit /etc/rc.conf" I get a colon
    I presume I'm in some kind of editor, but I can't see what I'm supposed to change and what commands to use inside the editor.
    Any help gratefully received

    bzzzz Arch is for competent Linux users - not knowing how to edit a file suggests that you do not fall into this category. If you wish to persevere and use Arch as a learning tool, then you need to be aware that you will be required to do most of the work yourself.

    HI
    If you have less number records in this request(which you extracted now), delete that request from all the targets and reload again with option Valid records update, reporting not possible.
    this is the option which is recommended.
    follow the below 2 docs as well.

  • How to edit multiple regions in one Piano Roll window

    I edit multiple regions in one Piano Roll window at the same time. (It is very handy way of editing especially in huge orchestra projects.)
    I can see midi contents of all selected regions in Piano Roll at the same time.
    1) But how to choose certain one region of many selected to edit it?
    2) And how to edit all at once?
    Hope the questions are clear enough.
    Thanks.
    Dmitriy.
    iMac (27-inch, Mid 2011) 2,7 GHz Intel Core i5. 16 GB 1333 MHz DDR3.
    OS X 10.10.2

    First of all, the Piano Roll has two mechansim, of what it is displaying.
    Selected Track: This displays all the Regions that you select in the Tracks Window
    One Track: Selecting one Region in the Track Area displays all the Regions of tha tTrack in the Piano Roll. If you select multiple Regions in the Tracks Window, then the last selected Regions counts.
    Whatever Regions are now displayed in the Piano Roll Editor can be edited. Select the MIDI Events and apply the command.
    You can also apply edits directly to the selected Regions in the Tracks Window.
    I explain all those little details in my graphically enhanced manuals ("Logic Pro X - How it Works")
    One thing to be clear about:
    Tracks Window: Any edit is applied to the selected Regions
    Piano Roll Editor: Ay edit is applied to the selected Events
    Hope that helps
