How to edit drop down menus in Contribute?

When I get to a page on my site with drop down (or jump) menus, there doesn't seem to be any way of editing these in Contribute. Anyone know how to do this?

Hi,
If you have used Spry widgets (like Menu bar widget), then, you can edit the menus within Contribute CS5 itself. But if you are using any other way like a script based or 'form action' then, within Contribute you cannot edit such menus. You can choose to edit such web pages in an external application (like Dreamweaver, Textpad, or Notepad) by clicking Ctrl+Shift+E, and the web page will be opened in that editor. You can make changes there, save it, and publish the web page in Contribute.
Hope this helps.

  • Editing Drop Down Menus in Contribute

I have a client who is using contribute and wants to edit
drop down menus. These drop down menus link to individual pdfs and
she changes the names of the pdfs on a regular basis and wants to
update these links in the drop down menus. The site was created in
Dreamweaver. In role preferences of Contribute I turned on the
allow unrestricted editiing which allows form elements to be
edited. However I cannot figure out how to change the drop down
menus. Is there any way to edit the drop down menus fields in
    Contribute?

Create a SSI (with PHP f.i.), best in de root of the site,
considering the way Contribute is handling linking.
Call the file something like menu.inc.php.
Provide your client with the url to menu.inc.php in the
Bookmarks or explain the Choose-button in Contribute to open the
    file menu.inc.php.
Keep the file simple (ul/li or p) .

  • How to change Drop-down Menus position?

Is it possible to change the position of side Drop-down
    Menus?
Captivate default setting is limit to Left/Middle/Right
    only....
and It's just not fit my background design......
it's really ridiculous....Now I force to change background
design just to suit the Menus title...
Do I miss something in setting a Menus??
    Thanks¬¬
    PS:
How did the captivate overview demo do a Menus in such a
    complicated way???
    http://www.adobe.com/products/captivate/overview/

    Lulu,
Captivate does indeed restrict where you can place the menu
(Top Left, Top Center, or Top Right). Perhaps someone else has
figured a way around this, but I am afraid I have no options to
    offer.
As for the menus you are seeing on the presentation for the
Captivate Overview, this bit of magic is done using Adobe Presenter
and not Captivate itself. Adobe Presenter is a tool geared
specifically for turning PowerPoint presentations into something
much more. The info on Presenter can be found at:

  • How to edit drop-down contacts menu in apple mail?

I would appreciate if someone could tell me where I can edit the drop-down contacts menu in apple mail? I'm talking about which email address suggestions appear when you start to type a name of a contact. I've done it in the past but have unfortunately forgotten where to access this list.

If you are asking about addresses that are not in your Address Book, they are listed in Windows > Previous Recipients.

  • Drop down menus/layout tables

    Hi,
I'm trying to redesign a church website that I built last
year. I used Frontpage mostly using layers. I made the page for 800
resolution screens, so the content sits to the left of the page
with blank spots to the right using higher resolutions.
I want to center the page with colored margins. I know I can
use layout tables to do that, but I havent figured out how to make
drop down menus without using layers. I've gotten this far
    http://www.216west3rd.org/GraySite/index.htm
and it is exactly what I want it to look like, just cant figure out
    the dropdown menu thing.
I have Dreamweaver 8 and would upgrade to Dreamweaver CS3 if
    it could do that task.
www.statesman.com (our local Austin newspaper) is an example
of what I want to do. Content centered with drop down or cascading
    menus.
I'm not a codewriter, I only use design modes. Can anyone
    help me with this?
    Thanks in advance,
    David

  • Drop Down Menus on different browsers

Hi. I am a teacher and I'm making a website for my school. I just learned how to create drop down menus using html code. I checked the website on Firefox, Safari, and even Opera. Everything looks great, except for Internet Explorer. The menu at the top looks totally funky! It's in the wrong direction, the pictures are missing, etc. In addition, other things look messed up as well. Please check it out...
    http://nestleweb.com
Why is this happening? I know that many people use IE, so it has to look right on this browser. Any suggestions?

I did the same thing. I provided links on the homepage so users would not use IE. But the problem is... once a user goes to IE and sees the menus and the page all messed up, he/she might just give up and not even scroll to the bottom to see the browser recommendations. I just received an email telling me that the website was messed up for a visitor.
Just venting...I am a teacher that's making the school website. Now, in my own classroom, I can tell and train my students and parents to use FF, but it's out of my control for the rest of the school and any other visitors. I'm just frustrated with the situation because everything takes so much time to make and then it looks horrible on IE! Thanks for your post. It helps to know I'm not the only one!
