How to edit general podcast description?

How do I edit the general description of my podcasts that appears before each individual podcast (at the top of the iTunes page)? The information that is displayed is shorter than the description that is on my podcast feed page at libsyn. In other words, iTunes is *not* publishing what's in the feed, so there must be some other place where I can edit the description.

Would you please ask this in the Producing Podcasts forum, and please include the URLs of both your feed and the Store page - this latter can be found by control-clicking on the podcast image (or where it should be) - and choosing 'Copy link'.  Please include the http:// in both cases to make the links clickable. Without this information it's not possible to comment.

  • How to look at podcast description without changing episode to "played"?

    Hi!
Some podcasts set their "Podcast" field to be something non-descriptive ("NPR: 03-07-2011 Fresh Air"), and in order to see the show's description I have to middle-click a bunch of times on the show's main screen. This marks the podcast as played, which is really annoying. I know I can run a script to change the "Podcast" field to be the "Description" field, but I'd rather just figure out how to do this on my iPod.
    Thanks in advance!

  • How can I Edit Podcast Description?

How can I Edit Podcast Description?
    Please help.

You don't say how you are making your podcast feed. I would tend to think from your question that you are not writing the feed yourself, but using either a program or one of the online services to do this. If this is tha case, you will need to look at their instructions: they should give you a place to enter the details.
If you are writing the feed by hand, then this page gives an example of how a feed should look:

  • How can I Edit My Podcast? And why doesn't my new uploads show in iTunes?

My Rss feed is through soundcloud and I uploaded new files and they haven't appeared on my link in iTunes. Also, how can I edit my podcast page?

In fact your files do force a download - paste the URL into Safari's address bar and hit return - they will download rather than play inside the browser as they should. However they do play in the Store, so perhaps they've now instituted a workaround for that.
    Your feed is at http://feeds.soundcloud.com/users/soundcloud:users:127918759/sounds.rss
There are four episodes, the latest being 25 February; all four appear in the Store and when subscribing.
If you want to amend the contents of the 'Description' column and the text you see when you click the 'i' next to it you need to amend the 'itunes:subtitle' and 'itunes:summary' tags respectively. The overall 'Description' which appears in the Store page above the episodes is carried in the 'itunes:summary' tag in the top section of the feed. If you want to amend these you will need to do so wherever you constructed the feed, presumably in Soundcloud. You cannot do so in iTunes itself, it simply reads what's in the feed.

  • Trying to find out how to edit artwork, keywords, titles, and descriptions

Trying to find out how to edit artwork, keywords, titles, and descriptions for my own video podcast that I have created for the iTunes store. My podcast shows on the first page in the itunes store (podcasts) for "forex" "forex training" and "forex education" under the name "fastpips", however I can't seem to find out how to change the title, for each podcast, the description, and keywords. I also want to add artwork to my podcast. I know how to do it under options for my own iTunes on my personal computer, but don't know how to edit it for others to see in the store itself. Thanks so much for any advice. By the way, I upload all my video podcasts to iTunes via ScreenCast.com I'm not sure if this will help, but here is the domain for the screencast files: http://www.screencast.com/users/ForexProFund/folders/FastPips.com%20Forex%20Trad ing%20and%20Forex%20Education

I have a similar question, I would like to edit the artwork for EACH episode in the podcast, as well as have one artwork for the entire podcast series. Any suggestions? This is a podcast that I've created -- I did the same thing for a TV Show where I was able to do custom artwork for each episode, but not one single artwork for the entire series. Does anyone have suggestions of how i should proceed?
    Recap:
One image for entire Podcast Series (or TV show)
Different Set of Images for each episode in Podcast. (Understand how to do this in TV show)
    Thanks!

  • How to edit/change my podcast iTunes page?

I submitted my podcast and everything went well. But on the 'author' line I left it blank. Now it says 'unknown' which doesn't look real great. So...how do I go back and change that?
In fact, how do I change anything on the page that presents on iTunes?

Did you use some podcast-generation software to create the necessary files for iTunes? If that's the case then you might not be aware of the xml file.
The xml file contains the podcast description data, podcast image location, podcast location plus other data that iTunes uses to display your podcast page within iTunes. You would have posted this file on your server (or if you are using podcast software this may have been done automatically).
You need to edit this file to include the Author data. Check out the technical specifications page at http://www.apple.com/uk/itunes/store/podcaststechspecs.html for an example xml feed (in the Example Feed section). You can edit the xml file in a text editor.

  • How do I edite my collection description after it's already exported (in HTML)?

    Hello,
I've been using Photoshop and Lightroom for a while not. Both are amazing, and I'm even now using Dreamweaver. Anyway...now, I'll get to my question:
How do I edited my collection description after already having exported my Lightroom Gallery? For one, I noticed a spelling error in the title, and I also want to edit the description a little bit more without having to re-export it from LR again and having to Re-publish all again. (I manage to use the file codes to change a few other things using DW, but for the life in me I cannot figure out how to change the Description).
I guess this is actually a coding question, not a question about LR itself, but I'm hoping some people who've used and tweaked LR galleries will understand my plight and help me. I would appreciate it very much.
Oh, and if it makes any difference, I'm using The Turning Gate free gallery because it's HTML5. I wasn't sure if any of the other LR5 CC ones were HTML5, that's why.

    Two options.
Export the gallery again but to your desktop. Find the Index page with the description on it and edit to the way you want. Dreamweaver will work fine but a text editor will suffice. Save the page and upload that page only- replacing the one online.
    Discard the exported gallery.
Second option, download the offending page via FTP, edit it and replace on your site.

  • How to edit podcast title page?

I'm not seeing how to edit the title line on the podcast page here
    www.jimsavage.net
it's acting like a hyperlink that's set to white text (so you cant see it, yellow scrollover.
Also is there supposed to be a "read more" option at end of text on this page like on the blog title page?
    Thanks

Just make the changes in the feed an reupload it. It will normally take 1-2 days - sometimes longer - for new episodes and other information changes to appear.
If you want to change the picture you should give the new picture a new filename and change the feed accordingly: iTunes caches the image and if you change the picture without changing the filename it's unlikely iTunes will realise it's changed. If you're using an online service to make your podcast, as seems to be the case, you may not be able to change the filename so all you can do it wait and hope the change is picked up eventually.

  • How to see podcast description on ios7

  • How To Edit Description???

I have searched for this, and cannot find the answer, so I am hoping a post will help! When you have a TV Show or a Movie, there is a description that shows in the main library window, but I cannot find it anywhere to edit when I go to the info of the file.
Is there any way to edit what the description is? I use iTunes 7 for Windows. Thank you!

There is no built-in way to modify the Description field. You would need to write or find a program that uses the iTunes SDK to do it.

  • Lyrics on iPod Photo, via podcast description

    Hi everyone!
I love my iPod photo, except for the fact that it doesn't display the lyrics of songs, like the later models do. However, I was recently listening to an MP3, and by pressing the middle button to cycle through the different screens, I came across what looked like a lyrics screen with a vertical scrollbar! Total surprise! After investigating, I discovered that it wasn't a lyrics screen, but the contents of the "Podcast Description" field of the ID3 tag (the tag field code is TDS).
I suddenly realised that I could put song lyrics into this "Podcast Description" field, and they would be displayed on my iPod exactly like the lyrics screen on the newer iPods! Yay! The only slight problem is that I don't know how to add this ID3 field to my songs. iTunes doesn't allow you to edit this field (or any podcast fields), nor do any of the ID3 editors I've tried (ID3 Editor, Media Rage, etc).
So, my question is: Does anyone know how I can create and edit "Podcast Description" fields (TDS) in my MP3s? Maybe something in GarageBand?? Maybe something useful at http://www.apple.com/itunes/podcasts/techspecs.html ?
    Many thanks in advance!

You can view lyrics on your iPod, but not in the way that you wish to do so. Here is the alternative way. It may be of some help, but it is far from perfect for your purpose.

  • Can't update my Podcast Description - Help plz

Kia ora all - I sure hope I'm posting in the right section, I've also recently uploaded our podcast and am trying to get the main "podcast description" updated (the one you see when you click on one of the many possible podcasts).
I'm using "FeedForAll" but can also edit it in DreamWeaver. I just can't figure out where it's getting the old description from (when I look in the xml file I can't even find the one that is on iTunes. I've pinged it to update and it has just not correctly.
DOH! Any help would be great appreciated

Using FeedBurner can sometimes confuse things, but usually it's worth the hassle, because it so fun to see your stats (It is also great for making your XML code render nicely in a browser.) Be sure to read their terms of use before you burn your feed, though, because you want to first make sure that you are comfortable with the rights they may gain over your content.
I hand-code my feeds and use Burner, and have never run into an issue (I only have SmartFeed and BrowserFriendly activated); some people do have problems though. One thing you need to keep in mind is that signing up for FeedBurner will give your feed an additional URL, one that iTunes won't know about unless you jump through some hoops. This new URL is the one that has to be subscribed to in order to count subscribers/downloads. (That's a confusion factor right there - and it is the biggest problem you will have if you want to use your FeedBurner feed in iTunes.)
One method to fix that problem: If you have access to your server and understand the contents of the following, this is the method I use to keep my feeds under my control. Make sure you know what each of these steps mean and how to implement them before you make any real changes. This method has the added bonus of not needing you to make any changes in regards to iTunes, because they are also automatically redirected.
However, there are other ways to skin that cat, and they can be found here in the Technical Spec (look at the section on <itunes:new-feed-url>). If you are new to podcasting and iTunes, I would recommend reading through all of the Spec, so you have a basic working knowledge of how their system functions (or is supposed to function, anyway).
Otherwise, you can burn your feed and not mess around with telling iTunes about it, but the stats you get won't count your iTunes subscribers. Who you want to count is obviously up to you.
This post got sorta long and wandery, and I can't tell if it makes sense anymore, so if you want me to make any clarifications please ask.

  • How to edit JVC/Panasonic/Canon .mod video in Windows Movie Maker then upload to YouTube for sharing

    Quick View:
Part 1: How to import .mod video to Windows Movie Maker
Part 2: How to edit the video with Windows Movie Maker
Part 3: How to upload your video to YouTube
    Know More:
    1. Which Camcorders record video in .MOD type?
    2. What file types are supported by Windows Movie Maker?
    3. What file types are supported by YouTube?
Part 1: How to import .mod video to Windows Movie Maker
    Step 1: Load files
First copy the MOD file from your video camera to your hard drive, then download, install and run MOD Converter, click the "Add Files" button to browse your computer hard disc and load the MOD/TOD video files you want to convert to the program.
    Step 2: Output Setting
In the bottom of the main interface, select an output format supported by Windows Movie Maker for each video file and specify a directory on your computer to save the output files.
    Step 3: Start convert
Click "Start" button on right bottom of the main interface, you are allowed to start conversion.
Step 4: Import converted video to Windows Movie Maker
Click on "File". Then click on "Import". A window will appear. In the window, navigate to the video clip you converted just now. Then double click on the file. You'll see the icon for the file in your Windows Movie Maker "Collections".
Part 2: How to edit the video with Windows Movie Maker
Step 1: Add transitions and special effects
In the Movie Tasks pane, under Edit Movie, click View video transitions.
Preview transitions by double-clicking them and watching the Preview Monitor. Once you've found a transition you like, drag it from the Video Transitions pane, under Edit Movie pane to the box between two of your clips. This inserts the transition between the two clips.
Step 2: Add titles and credits
If you want to add a title before, after, or on top of a clip, click the clip on the storyboard or timeline.
In the Movie Tasks pane, under Edit Movie, click Make titles or credits.
    Step 3: Add Music
In the Movie Tasks pane in Movie Maker, under Capture Video, click Import audio or music.
In the Import File dialog box, click the name of the song you want to use in the background. Then click Import. This adds your song to your collection but does not add it to your video. Drag the song from the collection to the video clip where you want the music to start playing.
    Step 4: Add narration
If you have a desktop computer, connect a microphone. Microphones are available from most electronics stores. If you have a portable computer, you can use the built-in microphone. However, you will get a better-quality recording if you connect an external microphone. In Movie Maker, click the Tools menu, and then click Narrate Timeline. On the timeline, click the clip you want to narrate. You can narrate clips one at a time, or you can narrate the entire movie all at once. If you narrate individual clips, you can rearrange them later and keep your narration synchronized. If the narration is too loud or too soft in comparison to the movie, right-click the narration on your timeline, and then click Volume.
Step 5: To save your movie to your computer
In the Movie Tasks pane, under Finish Movie, click Save to my computer.
The Save Movie Wizard appears. On the Save Movie File page, type a name for your movie. You can also choose a folder to save it in by clicking the Browse button, but My Videos (the default) is usually the best place to save your movie. Then click Next. On the Movie Setting page, click Next to accept the default setting of Best quality for playback on my computer.
Movie Maker saves your movie, which might take several minutes. On the Completing the Save Movie Wizard page, click Finish. If Play movie when I click Finish was selected (it is selected by default), the movie will automatically play in Windows Media Player. Now you can watch your videos anytime by opening your My Videos folder and double-clicking your movie.
Part 3: How to upload my video to YouTube
A video file should meet the following requirements so that it can be uploaded to YouTube site.
    1. In an acceptable format: WMV, MPEG4, MOV, AVI and MPEG.
    2. Video length is shorter 10 minutes.
    3. File size is smaller than 1GB.
Step 1: Sign up a YouTube account or Gmail account, then click the Upload button on any YouTube web page. See the figure below:
Step 2: Type in the information of your video file, including Title, Description, Category and tags. To increase the chances that your video can be easily found, you should put as much information as possible.
Step 3: Set this video to be public or private.
Step 4: Click the "Upload a video" button. When you see the next window, click the "Browse" button to select the video file you want to upload. Then click the "Upload Video" button to upload it. After the upload is finished, you will see the completion page. See the figure below:
Step 5: Click "My Videos" and you will see the video.
    Know More:
    1. Which Camcorders record video in .MOD type?
MOD is the video file type used on many digital camcorders, such as the JVC Everio, the Canon FS100 and the Panasonic D-Snap SD-card camcorders. Accompanying the MOD video file, there exists MOI file that stands for the index file for MOD.
    2. What file types are supported by Windows Movie Maker?
You can import files with the following file name extensions into Windows Movie Maker to use in your project:
Video files: .avi, .wmv, .mpeg, .mpg., .asf, m1v, .mp2, .mp2v, .mpe, , .mpv2, and .wm.

Picture files:.jpeg, .jpg, .jpe, .png, .bmp, .dib, .emf, .gif, .jfif,.tif, .tiff, and .wmf
    3. What file types are supported by YouTube?
