Editting Joomla Templates in Dreamweaver
I got my site and everything set up in Dreamweaver to my local server, I can view it in live view via index.php and when I go into live code to look at the code for stuff I want to change, then when I go to turn live code off to edit any changes, it brings me right back to the index.php code. I'd like to be able to easily find the files and code I need to edit at any given time since I don't know where most things are located.
This is the template I have

How to edit a templates HTML stucture?
Created a page with the standard "two level tab and sidebar" template and found it to have the users name in the lower left corner $APP_USER.
A search for the origin of this name lead me into the flow_020200 schema where I found the wwv_flow_templates table to have a CLOB column "footer_template" that contained the HTML I was looking for.
Question: How to edit the templates HTML structure from the application builder?

How to edit "Solution Template"
Hi @ all,
is the any way to edit the solution template in NDS? I'm able to edit the existing email templates like "Article Information" or "Group Information".
If I solve an incident ticket the user become an notification ticket with the SOLUTION field and the "Incident Information" in it.
And therefore I want to know how to edit the "Solution" in the closed incident email notification.
thx
AlexThe Solution template is called CloseRequest and can be edited in the Setup > Email > Templates section. You need to ensure the menu option "Full Email Templates" is selected though.

How to edit lasso files in Dreamweaver
I have to edit some pages with minor changes in Dreamweaver, I'm not a programer, I'm a designer and I understand html files, I can code a little bit but I mostly work on design view.
The pages that I need to edit have the extension of .lasso files and when I tried to open them in Dreamweaver I'm not getting anything in design view and very little code in code view.
How can I edit these pages? is this just a programing language? if so, do I need a programer to edit them?
ThanksHi,
there are several ways to open *.lasso files, respectively to change or add file extensions to Dreamweaver. Among other links look here:

How do I create templates in Dreamweaver?
My url is www.investix.co.uk How do I create a general
template that I can use for all of the pages within the site? I'm
using the lastest version of Dreamweaver. If you already have a layout that you're happy with, you have
to establish your editable regions then save the file as a template

Editing Blogger Template in Dreamweaver
Ok, so I recently signed up to blogger.com.
I found a template I kinda like, but I want to edit it quite substantially. So I noticed the customization option, I clicked on layout, and then clicked "edit html". I downloaded the xml file. I opened it in dreamweaver, and when I look it over, the code all appears to make sense. But when I preview the code in firefox, it doesn't work.
For a second I thought this might have been because I had to run the file through WAMP, but that didn't fix it either.
Can anyone here help me with this?Just what I was looking for, got an old blogger template that needs a lot of work.
Is there a better adobe product to use for this than dreamweaver?

How to put Photoshop templates into Dreamweaver
After purchasing templates and downloading, I discovered the
page layouts for the templates were Photoshop files. I made the
changes I wanted to make in Photoshop and now need to put in
Dreamweaver. There is a Flash file that is giving me error messages
when I open the index page. When I try to insert an image (the
page) it comes in a new window. I'm definitely not doing this
correctly.
Can anyone tell me how to insert them into
Dreamweaver?Actually, I had forgotten about SiteGrinder. Its code is not
bad, to tell
you the truth. They have taken alot of trouble to make things
more stable
than a slap-dash, layer-based layout, but it is, to be sure
still strongly
rooted in absolute positioning. It might be an expedient way
to go, but
there is no substitute for some good HTML/CSS knowledge.

How to edit a template gallery with not xml files?
i bought a template and have edited too my satisfaction,
however i am unable to add more pics to the gallery,
i can add frames and pics in the pics/thumbs timeline, but they do not show,
i can change the 12 pics in the original timeline without difficulty, but cannot find anyway to add more pics or thumbs.
i have been trying to sort this for a week with no joy, i would really appreciate any help that i can get on this, any at all.
i did post the .FLV file on the adobe server Case #0181222772 ,
i now realise that was in the wrong place to request help with issue,
however if you can see that, maybe you can find whatever it is i am missing???? please help before i go insane ;-).Thanks for that,Webqaflash however thats my problem, after searching through the files for a week many hours of frustration later i find i cannot find anyway to find or edit that restriction, it may be because i am an absolute noob, or that the template seems to be very scruffy, i picked up the template and flash and a week or two later had everything sorted except the gallery, im sure some flash expert can point me in the right direction, and that may be all i need, in the FLV file symbol 10,11,12 and 13 seem to be associated with the gallery, nothing else appears to be, but i just cant find the way to edit it. noobs what can we do but ask for help.....;-)

Do you have to upload all new pages if you edited the template file?
I've edited a template in Dreamweaver and applied all changes to pages that use this template.
Previously, I had been uploading the templates onto my server, but after realizing that uploading the edited template to the web the pages didn't change.
When you edit the template in Dreamweaver shouldn't it automatically pull from the new template when you look at the pages online? OR do you have to upload each new page to your server that used that template?
or in other words..
Does the webpage pull the information from the template in Dreamweaver or from the server?
Thank you.Any pages that have been updated after the template has been updated will need to be uploaded to the server. The pages do not automatically "connect" to the template and reflect it's rendering while on the server - that would require Server Side Includes or a dynamic server-side language (like PHP or ASP .NET) .

I am embarking on a new project to create a joomla template. I need your ideas on how to use Dreamweaver to create the template. TQ
It's pretty much the same procedure with all your open source CMSs (WordPress, Drupal, Joomla!...)

Edit First line in dreamweaver templates
Hello,
When I create a page from a Dreamweaver template, a
dreamweaver comment similar to the one below will be inserted:
<!-- #BeginTemplate "/Templates/test.dwt" -->
Each time I edit a page to add php code in the very first
line, it is removed with every template update and the source code
again starts with the dreamweaver comment. I need to add to all my
pages a php code in the very first line like this one:
<? $ob_start; $session_start; ?>
How can I do that without removing the code from my pages
with each template update. Another problem is that I can't insert a
placeholder in the very first line of a dreamweaver template. Above
that the first line is locked in dreamweaver, so that I can't
change it manually. Is there any workaround available?
Thanks,

Put the code ABOVE the <html> tag.
Which DW are you using? It looks like DW4 or earlier....
