How to eject this?
My brother and i have macbooks. I was unable to reach my leopard install cd so I borrowed my brother's to re-install leopard. I didn't know that it wouldn't work on other laptops. So now, my HD is backed up but completely erased. and I'm stuck seeing the "Mac OS X cannot be installed on this computer."
How do I eject that CD? And can I use someone else's retail cd to re-install leopard?
An installer DVD that is bought separately should work on any type of Mac that can run Leopard. Maybe your Mac doesn't meet those requirements. Check this site:

Again, legally you must purchase a copy of Leopard for every Mac that you install it on.
If you have trouble getting the disc to eject, hold down the mouse (or trackpad) button when it boots up.

My ipod is recognized in windows but not in itunes. It shows up in devices and gives me the ok to eject prompt, so I know that the connection is good. I ran the troubleshooter and did all the recommended fixes. Hours and hours later, I still have the same problem. I uninstalled itunes and all its folders, restarted the apple device services and changed the drive letter. Checked my security settings and everything else I can think of. Does anyone know how to fix this?
Did you remove all Apple related software including QuickTime, Safari, Software Update utility for Windows, etc using the exact instructions in this Apple support document?

Are you plugging the iPod into a high powered USB 2.0 port and not a USB or similar? Have you tried different cables to help rule out a faulty or damaged cable?

Hi, my Ipod Schuffle (4 gen) dissapears from windows vista right after I execute Itunes, I've change the drive letter, erase temps in App data file, verified USB drivers, etc... Can someone guide on how to solve this?
If you want the shuffle to be always visible in Windows (outside of iTunes), you need to Enable disk use.
Select the shuffle in the iTunes sidebar, under DEVICES. Over to the right, select the Summary tab. You should see a checkbox that says Enable disk use. Check it and click Apply.
NOTE: If disk use is enabled, you have to Eject the shuffle in iTunes, BEFORE you physically disconnect it. If disk use is NOT enabled, you can disconnect the shuffle at any time, as long as iTunes is not doing something with it at that moment (such as syncing); the shuffle's light will then be blinking (to indicate DO NOT DISCONNECT).
So, unless you want to use the shuffle like a USB flash drive (carry random files on it), you may want to NOT Enable disk use. -
We have a DVD in the super drive on our Macbook Pro that will not eject. The DVD does not show up on the desktop. Have tried the keyboard eject button, and also restarting the computer. Any ideas on how to eject it?

I've downloade bootcamp 5 to run windows 7 but i can't get the wireless internet to work. It does not seem to recognise it. Without the use of the internet the software that i want to install i.e sage instant accounts will be useless. Can anyone help please? i also have a problem of ejecting the cd disc. i press the normal eject button and nothing happens. The only way i could eject the windows 7 disc was to toggle to the mac side of the computer and it would eject from there. Does anyone know how to do this from the windows side?
You have not installed the Boot Camp drivers.
Start up in OS X and download the Windows support software from this site > http://support.apple.com/kb/dl1638 Follow the steps of the link except the ones to install Windows.

BenziIf you press the Menu button of the Apple Remote, a Screen should come up with one of the choices being DVD. Use the Remote's "wheel" to choose DVD and then press the center button. The next window has a choice to Eject the DVD.
Music CDs work the same way, except substitute the word CD for DVD in the previous paragraph. The Eject option will be the last option at the bottom of the album list.

Please remember that you can only use standard size DVDs and CDs. Don't insert any of the smaller 80mm ones. -
I have a USB drive that doesn't want to eject. It get the error that it is in use and can't be ejected. Yet, nothing is using it.

Funny how Apple tech support can never solve anything. After an hour, they'll finally say, force quit everything, restart then restore to factory defaults. That's the common workflow. Get out the big hammer. -

When you open the drive, it should appear as an icon on your desktop.
When you want to eject the drive, right click the drive icon on your desktop and then select "Eject xxxxx". Or, if you prefer you can simply drag the icon to the trash. -

I bought a USB 3.0 splitter on eBay and took it to the test. I put in four devices but only three of them showed up. I have tried to search a bit but I couldn't find any solution. As far as I know, the hard drive isn't mounted but it is running.
I have had this problem some time ago but I think I just pulled the drive out that time. I don't want to risk damaging the hard drive because it contains important data. This didn't happen before I (unfortunately) upgraded to Yosemite and have had some other faults too.
Does anyone of you know how to eject the hard disk properly?If it’s not mounted, it can just be unplugged. To double-check, choose Utilities from the Finder’s Go menu; if all the volumes on a drive appear in gray in the sidebar, it can be safely unplugged. If the drive doesn’t appear at all, the computer doesn’t recognize that it’s connected, and it can be safely unplugged.

Hi,
Due to my brother locking me out of my ipod touch I had to wait an hour to log in again. Unfortunately when I did this, I, again put in the wrong password twice more, each time locking me out for a further 60 minutes. On my 3rd attempt to log in the wrong password was entered again. This time though instead of logging me out for another 60mins it now tells me to "connect to itunes" but I have no idea how to do this and I am now unable to use my ipod.
