    Hi,
    In tcode SE80, select BSP Application and put SWN_MESSAGE1 in text field. So, you can see plain_indiv and plain_multi HTML. If you click-on this you can see the layout and the standard horizontal line.
    If you want to change it, you have to copy this BSP and create a Z one and change the layout. Now, in tcode SWNCONFIG, go to Message Template and change BSP-URL.

  • How do I share my printer between my two Windows 7 systems?

    Some users find that they have a non-networked printer that worked fine in a mixed Windows environment, but found their two Windows 7 printers (one host and one client) are not able to share the printer.
    Windows 7 handles networking differently than previous versions of Windows.
    The easiest way to get started with sharing printers between multiple Windows 7 computers is to setup a HomeGroup.  A HomeGroup is a way to authorize different Windows 7 computers to talk to each other and share resources.  Microsoft has a good article about HomeGroups that has links to various guides.
    Once the HomeGroup is setup, the next step is to setup a host for the USB printer.
    This article from Microsoft details how to enable file and printer sharing, sharing the printer, and the basic steps of adding the printer.
    The first two sections are fine as they are, but I would like to expand on adding a shared printer to the other Windows 7 computers.
    This process tends to have the greatest success with sharing printers in Windows 7.  Most USB only printers do have a driver available in Windows.
    1.  Go to Start>Devices and Printers.
    2.  Click on Add a printer at the top.
    3.  While it is a networked printer, it is not the current network standard printer.  Select Add a local printer.
    4.  Select Create a new port with a local port for type.
    5.  Enter \\<host computer name>\<printer name> without the < > symbols.  The host computer name is the name of the computer that has the printer attached to it.  If you do not know that name, go to the host computer and go to Start>Right-click Computer>Properties.  The computer name will be listed here.  The printer's share name was selected in a previous step in the Microsoft article.
    6.  Click Ok and the printer driver screen will appear.  Click on Windows Update to ensure it is the most current list.
    7.  Select the printer model from that list.
    8.  Follow the rest of the prompts.
    At the end of these steps, the printer should be shared from the host computer to the other Windows 7 computers.
    Some important notes about this setup:
    1.  Only printing will be functional.
    2.  The host computer must be on for printing to work.
    3.  The host computer could enter standby or suspended mode.  This will interrupt the shared printer on the other systems.
    With these steps completed, the printer should be functional on the Windows 7 computers once again.

  • How do I change a printer's IP address, !again! :(

    O Great, Knowledgeable and Kind printer gurus,
    I'm in a similar situation to Peter Minter's old archived thread at
    http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?messageID=2188292?
    ... So I'm sorry to be the next confused person Sorry to be asking ask a question that has probably already been answered multiple times, in which case blush, and a pointer to the answer would be great.
    I have a Linksys Ethernet switch into which I've plugged
    1. RJ45 carrying signal to/from an Apple Airport Router's Ethernet LAN output plug (Router gets its input from my Cable Modem)
    2. RJ45 carrying signal to/from Mac Mini
    3. RJ45 carrying signal to/from Mac Al-PowerBook G4
    4. RJ45 carrying signal to/from HP LaserJet 5M
    1, 2, and 3 are networking just fine to one another and out to the Internet, and have been fine for months.
    It's the LaserJet 5M that I've just gotten that I can't figure out how to configure so's I can print to it.
    Via its test page output, the printer reports its current IP addr to be 0.0.0.0 , subnet mask NOT SPECIFIED, def gateway 0.0.0.0 , config by RARP/BOOTP
    Via its network status panel, the mini reports:
    IP: 10.0.1.2
    Subnet Mask: 255.255.255.0
    Router: 10.0.1.1
    Via its network status panel, the PowerBook G4 reports:
    IP: 10.0.1.4
    Subnet Mask: 255.255.255.0
    Router: 10.0.1.1
    In slot 4 of the Linksys switch, I used to have an HP Print Server that made a network printer out of an old HP LaserWriter 4ML's parallel port. Damned if I remember how I changed the HP Print Server's IP addr., but I did somehow!
    The newer HP LaserJet 5M has an RJ45 input so it's networkable directly, but I think I need to be able to reach into it (I think via Telnet from TERMINAL running in either of the two Macs) and change its IP addr to something in the local subnet. Maybe it "should" be 10.0.1.3.
    However, try as I might, I cannot open a TELNET connection to 0.0.0.0 or any machine:

    ==============
    So, from the AL-PbG4 (10.0.1.4) I can't OPEN connections to all the IP addresses I "should" be able to see. Hmm. I must be doing something wrong.
    Even if I could contact the HP printer, how would I change its IP addr, and what should I change it to? 10.0.1.3 or maybe 10.0.1.200 ?
    MacOSX 10.4.7, Printer Setup Utility Version 4.6(161.9)
    Given that the HP printer's directly on the LAN thru the switch -- should I use "HP Jet Direct - Socket" protocol, or Internet Printing Protocol (IPP) or Line Printer Daemon (LPD) protocol? Simply baldly getting in there and assigning the addresses 10.0.1.3 or 10.0.1.200 on HP Jet Direct - Socket" protocol doesn't seem to produce a working queue. I also select Print Using HP LaserJet 5M. No soap.
    Any hints? Should I d/l a better/higher functionality configuration tool from HP? I'm about Googled out on this, and what I think to be an exhaustive search in this HELP area doesn't give me the info I think I need. Wot am I doing wrong, pls? Any more info I can provide? Happy 2 do it. TIA for any cycles you can spare.

    I appreciate the feedback VERY much, Kappy, and at the beginning of my most recent (and successful!) hacking session, I thought that you were helping me "fail forward" ... but it all turned out OK, thanx to you!
    When I get the printout of the "MENU MAP" the HP MIO menu shows only
    CFG NETWORK = NO
    so with your welcome hint, I just found that if I go into the HP MIO menu and change NO to YES*, I can keep going... and I can even get to where I can change the TCP/IP addr!
    As (I believe) befits an important setting area like CFG NETWORK, setting it to YES* holds only for ONE application. When you come back from READY status, HP MIO's CFG NETWORK is set back to NO.
    But if I've just arrived and have set CFG NETWORK to YES* and keep going, I see choices like
    NOVELL = OFF*/ON (I left that at OFF*, no Novell hereabouts)
    DLC/LLC = OFF*/ON (not understanding what that is, I left it at OFF*)
    TCP/IP = ON*/OFF (I can set it ON* and it will "stick" from entry-from-READY to future entry-from-READY -- like I've turned it ON and it stays on)
    ETALK = ON/OFF*
    Encouragingly next, I see
    CONFIG TCP/IP = YES*/NO
    BOOTP* = YES/NO*
    Then I get to a place where I can enter
    TCP BYTE 1 = 0*
    and I can move that byte up until it reads
    TCP BYTE 1 = 10*
    and the same through the rest of the TCP BYTES:
    TCP BYTE 2 = 0*
    TCP BYTE 3 = 1*
    TCP BYTE 4 = 3*
    These settings persist from CONFIG TCP/IP to the next CONFIG TCP/IP session, so that's good...
    Next in the menu options, I see
    SM BYTE 1 = 0* which I assume means Subnet Mask, so I alter that to be the same as the other members of my LAN (correct me if these settings are wrong, please?)
    SM BYTE 1 = 255*
    SM BYTE 2 = 255*
    SM BYTE 3 = 255*
    SM BYTE 1 = 0*
    These settings persist from CONFIG TCP/IP to the next CONFIG TCP/IP session, so that's also good...
    Next the menu offers me
    LG BYTE 1 = 0*
    LG BYTE 2 = 0*
    LG BYTE 3 = 0*
    LG BYTE 4 = 0*
    I have no idea whatever what LG means, so I didn't change that. Same for the next choice:
    GW BYTE 1 = 0*
    GW BYTE 2 = 0*
    GW BYTE 3 = 0*
    GW BYTE 4 = 0*
    Finally, the CONFIG TCP/IP = YES* menu offers
    TIMEOUT = 90*
    and the possible values range from 0 through 3600. Having no idea whatever what this is, I left it alone.
    When my printer's TCP/IP addr was set at 10.0.1.3 I could PING it successfully. When I changed its addr to 10.0.1.200 I could no longer PING 10.0.1.3, but could successfully PING 10.0.1.200 .
    However, in neither case can I add a printer whose IP address is 10.0.1.200 or 10.0.1.3, whose queue-name I leave blank for the default queue, using IPP, and where I specify the HP Laserjet 5M device.
    Sooooh close I wondered what my dain bramage was...
    I next wondered whether it perchance had something to do with the LG or the GW 4-octet strings, which I could set to anything but which I've left 0.0.0.0 out of ignorance?
    But then I got a brainstorm -- it seems as if what is built into this printer is like the JetDirect I used previously -- so when I changed from IPP to JetDirect SOCKET protocol, everything worked!
    So a great big THANKS FOR THE CRUCIAL HINT!! goes to you, [B}Kappy!! :)
    ... might be nice to know what LG, GW, and TIMEOUT have to do with anything, but right now I'm a Happy Camper.
    ... and strangely enuf, the .PDF file I cite above has no occurrences of CFG, much less TCP. Foo upon all HP Documentation 'droids.

  • How to eliminate the alarm "Client License Limit Exceeded" in Lookout 6.0.2?

    There are 18 Run Time Only Servers, with no clients, running the same application. Right after the installation of the Lookout 6.0.2 software this alarm didn't show up, but after some time it does in all the systems. It makes not too much sense to me because there are no clients at all, thus no client license was purchased and entered/registered.
    How to eliminate this 'false' alarm?
    Any help will be appreciated!

    The design is complex. Within the features, each system collects data in .csv format, and once a day moves a copy of the data collected to some place in the network. Also the systems print to file the events and alarms (once a day as well), then they are copied out with the database to the same place in the network. This folder containing the database and the events-alarms in the network is for other engineers to analize, make calculations, projections, etc. It is weird for me and for the others to have this alarm every day in the events-alarms files of each system.
    Each system is independent, doesn't need to have connection with the other systems. There are no clients because the database collection is enough for us. The systems are VERY STABLE, no need to trouble-shoot (remote access), or even checking how they are working. Truly, Lookout shows a good performance with this application. By the way, the application is too extensive, complex, many different things are controlled and monitored, many different communication protocols are used: OPC servers, Serial connections, etc. General speaking, the overall result is excellent. This little, no-reason alarm is the only problem: "Client License Limit Exceeded".
    I'll really appreciate any suggestion regarding this issue.

  • How do i fix my printer when it won't show the print preview for web pages? it worked and now not.

    how do i fix my printer when it won't show the print preview for web pages?  it worked for a while and now it doesn't.  printer is an hp officejet 7310 all-in-one.

    I would suspect this is a hardware issue.  The rollers are probably having issues picking up the relatively smooth thick media.  You might have better results be cleaning the paper pickup rollers with a damp paper towel.  Also make sure the paper is snugly loaded and the paper guides have been correctly positioned.

  • How to access host files?

    how to access host files?

    Easy and not depends on your software version:
    press Shift+cmd+G while your finder window is open and active, you will get a new window with the field where you can write /etc/hosts
    Anyway to edit hosts file you should open it with the sudo command, this can be done in terminal window, not in Finder. Also easy and can be done next way:
    press Shift+Cmd+U while Finder window is open and active, then choose Terminal.app, and after it opens enter sudo nano /etc/hosts. You will be asked for password - this is the password you enter then you installing new application. You should know few commands to edit your hosts file:
    Previoius page/Next Page of the file - Ctrl+Y/Ctrl+V
    Add record - Input the text you need on the last free line of the file and then press Ctrl+O
    Delete record - put cursor on the line you want to delete and press Ctrl+K
    Undo - Ctrl+U
    Exit - Ctrl+X
    After edit your hosts file you should update DNS records - in terminal window enter the command dscacheutil -flushcache
    But if you really don't know what are you doing, my advice is do not touch your hosts file, ask for professional to do his job. Just like I'm doing usually. )))

    You need to create new strings with the /r stripped off
    /** Takes a string, and replaces the replace text with new text.
    * @param str String to replace into
    * @param pattern Pattern of text to replace.
    * @param replace What to replace it with.
    * @return str with the replace text replaced with the new text.
    protected static String replace(String str,String pattern, String replace) {
    int s = 0;
    int e = 0;
    StringBuffer result = new StringBuffer();
    while ((e = str.indexOf(pattern, s)) >= 0) {
    result.append(str.substring(s, e));
    result.append(replace);
    s = e+pattern.length();

  • How to install a network print on solaris 10

    How to install a network print on solaris 10?
    Thank You!

    Thank you Zettabyte!!
    Folks, network printers should NOT BE configured like this:
    lpadmin -p somequeue -s someprinter
    that creates a remote style queue and puts all the I/O and processing capability on the basic LPD listener present on network printer interfaces. This will cause problems down the road, not to mention that you cannot control access, get any logging, filter content, or control banner pages.
    Network printers should use any software (or PPD file) supplied by the vendor over the basic lpadmin/netstandard config.
    You can install CUPS, but Oracle won't support it until it's part of the OS (S11, apparently).
    The "System Administration Guide: Solaris Printing" is highly recommended for those administering printers on Solaris.

    of course I was talking nonsense: the problem here is the mixing of bind variables and DEFINE variables.
    With the following changes the script should work (the conditions for begin_interval_time are perhaps not what you want):

    variable rptname varchar2(20)

        BufferedReader in = new BufferedReader(new InputStreamReader(System.in));
        String ans = in.readLine();
        System.out.print("Please enter  ans=" + ans  + " IsTrue=  " + (ans.equals("R") || ans.equals("r")) +"\n");
        if (ans.equals("C") || ans.equals("c")){

          timer.schedule(new TimerTask(){
            public void run(){

          },delay,1);
        else if(ans.equals("r") || ans.equals("R")){
          timer.schedule(new TimerTask(){

        else{
          System.out.println("Invalid Entry.");
          System.exit(0);
        System.exit(0);
    }

    The Timer is working fine, but because it runs in another Thread, your program is ending before the Timer can repeat.
    The simplest way to make your program wait until it is force-quitted as you describe would be to make an infinite loop (although this isn't very good practice), like this:
        else if(ans.equals("r") || ans.equals("R")){
          timer.schedule(new TimerTask(){
            public void run(){
              System.out.println("This line is printed repeatedly.");
          },delay, 1000);
        while(true){} //This will make your main thread hang.
        }A better way, though, would be to listen again with your System.in reader until they enter a letter that means quit.

  • How to disable HP Universal Printing dialog box

    Hi, I am trying to install HP Universal Printing PCl 6 printers on a local machine using a batchfile from an application (C#) which automatically detects if a printer has been installed or not. The batchfile has the following entries:
    set IP=IP_%1
    pushd "%windir%\System32\Printing_Admin_Scripts\en-US\

    When I run my application, the printer is installed but when I try to print, sometimes I get the HP Universal Printing dialog asking me to select a printer. I can't even exit from this dialog. Other times when I dont get the printing dialog my print function fails with Invalid Handle exception.
    The next time I try to print with the printer installed, it prints documents successfully.
    How can I disable this print dialog using the batchfile above and why do I get the Invalid Handle expection on the first install and print??

    I don't think there's anyway to disable it, I just minimise iTunes or click on another application's logo while it loads. I agree with you as to it being annoying, but I don't think there's anyway to disable it. In my opinion it should just do it in the background without the dialog box...!
