How to eliminate 'recovered messages" in I-Mail

How does one get rid of the "Recovered Messages" and/or the folders on "ON MY MAC?"  It is the same message that has been replicated over and over.  The message did contain large files attached to the original message.
Thank you,
Raymond from *******, GA

Is this happening to all emails from, say sender A? Or are you still receiving emails from sender A, but not in the same "convo"?
I am just wondering if sender A is sending you email that has "no subject", thus Apple Mail thinks it's apart of a convo. Therefore it'll group them into a "convo".

  • Recovered messages folder in Mail

    Hi Folks,
So what is with the 'Recovered Messages' folders in mail (Under the heading of 'On My Mac') ?
I have both my Gmail and my @me accounts running through mail (Under Mountain Lion OS) but I sent a rather large email the other day (Funnily enough to Apple Customer Support) and now the same email keeps coming back up in the Recovered Messages folder. I think the mail sent ok as it appears in my Sent box. So whats the deal with it then? Why have I got it? what does it do? and why does the same email keep reappearing?
Hope someone out there can help
    Mark

Thats Odd though as I am not currently running Time Machine on my iMac. Does it htere was an issue with the email? if not then why does only this one email keep reappearing and not others that I send out?
    Thanks for coming back though

Also this began happening the same time my Yahoo mail account was hacked which resulted in my mail program (on mini) to fail. It crashes on startup.
    Thanks

Thanks Steve that did it on my iPad. It was the yahoo account. Im beginning to think that Yahoo is dangerous. It was the hacking of my Yahoo mail account that started these problems. My mail account on my mini still does not work. I posted the problem here and got real professional advice  but to no avail it still doesnt work and I cant re-install the OS because Im in China and their Great firewall keeps the net too slow.

  • If an email is in the recovered messages folder on mail, does that mean it hasn't been sent?

A little confused as to what the 'Recovered Messages' folder is on mail.
I'm unsure why some emails I'm sending are appearing in that folder... does that mean they haven't been delivered?
They aren't visible in the sent folder but I haven't received an email to say it can't be delivered.
If someone could just explain this folder and it's purpose to me, I'd be really grateful.
    Thanks.

It means that the recipient either has iMessage turned off or is not connected to WiFi or 3G. The message will be held on Apple's servers for 24hrs, then deleted if not delivered.

  • How can you dictate messages in Apple Mail

Is it possible to dictate messages in Apple Mail (MacAir)? Is there an app that can enable this if not available by default?

Mountain Lion includes Dictation, so you can use it pressing Fn key twice. If you have Lion, you can install Dragon > http://www.nuance.com/for-individuals/by-product/dragon-for-mac/index.htm

  • How to eliminate default text in Photo Mail creations

Every time I create a Photo Email in PSE 11 the email appears in my email client with this text added to it:  "Here are the files that I want to share with you".  I do not what this text and I have to select it and delete it for every email I create.  Is there any way to change and/or eliminate this text permanently within the PSE files?
I found the text in the following file, but eliminating it from that file did not stop it from displaying.  How can I get rid of this unwanted message?
I've searched this website and even Googled on this but cannot find an answer to such a simple request.
Thank you in advance for any assistance you can provide!

What you are changing through that text file is only the subject of email.
The only way to change the body of the mail is to delete and retype. Sorry.

  • How do I access message from closed mail account?

    Hi.
I closed an old email account left over from a sold business, and the associated inbox has disappeared from Mail. I would like to access some of the historically significant messages - they must be stored somewhere -
    How do I find them?
    Thanks,
    Rob.

Do you have a backup such as Time Machine? In your home folder, select Library/Mail, enter your backup, locate the account, control - click on it and restore it to your desktop. You can then import it into Mail.
