How to embed a BI publisher Report in welcome page of fusion app?

Hi,
I was a ADF developer, new to fusion app and BI publisher. We are using Oracle Fusion Application version 11.1.7.0.0 for compensation implementation and BI publisher is a part of it.
I've developed a BI publisher report, placed it under Shared Folder \ Custom, want to embed the same in welcome page of the fusion app. By following the video How do I embed a report in a sales dashboard? - YouTube, I followed below steps
1. Administration -> Customize Work area page
2. Add Content
3. Clicked on 'Reports and Analytics'
4. Clicked on 'BIPresentationServer'
5. Shared Folder
6. Custom
Issue: Though I have some reports under this 'Custom' folder, it says 'Empty folder'. It only shows the 'Analysis' but not any reports. Problem is not with this folder alone but all. I've also ensured that I am able to see all the reports when I navigate using Navigator -> Tools - > Reports and Analysis.
Can any of you guide me on what is the issue and what to be done?
Thanks in Advance.

Thanks for the link. I am reading it for better understanding.
I just came to know from SR that, In order to see the BI Publisher in the Presentation Server list of values, we have to embed the BI Publihser report inside an OTBI Dashboard.
So we need to create a 'Dashboards' folder (It is must only then we are able to see it via fusion apps. to select and embed), then Dashboard and add the desired report to this dashboard. Now we can navigate to this dashboard, open it and select the page to embed it.
Might be useful for the ppl who faces similar issue. Thanks.

  • How to run a BI-Publisher report from the Appworx enterprise batch sheduler

We have a BI-Publisher report that needs to be executed staight after a batch job. Does anyone know how to execute a report from the Appworx enterprise batch scheduler?
    Thanks.

I'm not familiar with AppWorx, but we use Autosys. We created a PL/SQL wrapper that calls FND_REQUEST.ADD_LAYOUT and FND_REQUEST.SUBMIT_REQUEST to submit XDOREPPB. For any report that needs to be scheduled via Autosys, the wrapper program is executed with the appropriate parameters.
    Hope this helps.

  • How to call the XML Publisher Report thro Standard PO Output for Comm.

    Hi
We need to call our custom report(XML Publisher Report) from the standard PO Output for Communication Report.
There is a parameter(Purchase Order Layout) in PO Output for Communication in which we can see no. of standard reports. We want to add our custom report in that list so that when we will run this standard report by selecting our custom report for Purchase Order Layout parameter, we should get the output as per our Custom report.
Since PO Output for Communication is a Java Concurrent Program, we are not able to place our custom report in the list of Purchase Order layout Parameter.

  • How to generate XML Publisher report from PLSQL Stored Procedure in APPS

    Hi,
I have concurrent program of type PLSQL Stored procedure.I need to generate XML Publisher report from the same.I have changed the output of the concurrent program as "XML" but when I tried running it,the XML tags are not generated.Due to this I am unable to create the template. Its a urgent issue.
    Please help me out .
    Thanks in advance.
    Kaveri

    Hi Kaveri
Sadly there is nothing magic about that output field. The only program type that you can flip it to XML and then magically get XML is for Oracle Reports. For plsql you will need to recode the plsql to generate XML rather than text that you have now.
You have some options, best option first:
    1. Move the sql to a data template - check the user guide and blog for help or
    2. Use SQL XML or XMLGEN (not great for large datasets) or
    3. Use dbms_output.put_line and write the XML file manually - not performant at all

  • Printing BI Publisher report from OAF Page WITHOUT Preview or Save Option

I have a requirement to print a BI Publisher Report on the invoke of a Button from a OAF Page. I have followed the method suggested in the below link to integrate OAF and BI Publisher.-
    http://apps2fusion.com/at/51-ps/260-integrating-xml-publisher-and-oa-framework
In this scenario, I already developed Data Definition (XML) and Template (RTF) for the report and a self service page with 'Generate PDF' button. When the button is clicked the template is getting filled with the data from the database and displaying the PDF output. A dialog box with 'Open/Save/Cancel' appears before the PDF document is shown.
But my requirement is to avoid this dialog box and Save option so when the button is clicked the document has to be directly sent to the printer.
Is there anyway to achieve this? Please help as this is very urgent..
    Thanks,
    Naren

    Naveen,
You need to read the documentation here:
    http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/middleware/bi-publisher/documentation/xmlpdocs-084437.html
All of the information you need is in these:
    Administration and Developer's Guide
    Report Designer's Guide
    JavaDocs
With the BI publisher (XML publisher) Java APIs, you can call a data template with parameters and get the XML from that.
For an example that should be very close to what you need to do, see the comments section of this page:
    http://apps2fusion.com/at/ps/294-bi-publisher-document-viewer-common-region-embeded-report-output-in-oa-framework-page-part-2
Find the comment titled: "Alternative: BlobDomain from data template"
The great thing about using a Data Template is that, while you are NOT concurrent program dependent, you can still set up a concurrent program to run it for other purposes if you wish. Data Templates offer a lot more flexibility.

  • Printing BI Publisher report from OAF Page

We have a requirement to display a BI Publisher Report on the invoke of a Button/Link from a OAF Page. One way to achieve this without invoking a concurrent program is by following the method described in the link below :-
    http://apps2fusion.com/at/51-ps/260-integrating-xml-publisher-and-oa-framework
In the current scenario, we already have developed Data Definition (XML) and Template (RTF) for the report and is used too. We want to use the same Data Definition and Template but invoke from a OAF Page. Is there a way to achieve this?
In the method mentioned in the above link, we would have to create many VO's to generate the XML, since the XML needed in our case is a detailed one, we would need to create many VO's to achieve this. Hence looking out for a way in which we can invoke the Data Definition (XML) already registered in the BI Publisher.
Any inputs to achieve this would be helpful.

  • Won't Publish changes to "Welcome" Page

I recently made changes to my website. I created a new page, and I adjusted my welcome page. When I "published" the edits, the edits on my Welcome page didn't go through. The frustrating thing is that the new page posted, but you wouldn't really know it because its link is not on my welcome page's navigation bar (on the published sight. On my computer, it's link IS on my welcome page.
    Any advice?
    Thanks!

As varkgirl alludes to... Your web browser may be showing you old information from its memory cache instead of new information that you have just updated. If you are using Safari, look under the Safari menu and select "Empty cache..."
Safari does this because it thinks that it can get you your webpage faster from its memory cache than by fetching it from the internet. What Safari doesn't know is that you have updated your page and it has not gone out to look for the new information. That's why the old info (and sometimes a weird combination of old and new info) still shows in your browser.

  • How to embed images in PDF reports - help!

i have gone through the demo at http://www.oracle.com/technology/obe/hol08/apexprnt/apexprnt2_otn.htm and this works fine UNLESS the image is bigger than say 8Kb.
How do i accomplish embedding an image in a PDF report if these images are (substantially) bigger??
I have tried asking this on this forum a number of times with no success. Is there ANYONE out there that can help me in this urgent matter?
    Any help would be venerated.

Before entering into XSL-FO, I would strongly advise using XML-Spy or a similar product to check the validity of the XSL-FO code.
Also, I found the process to be highly iterative, building up the XSL-FO piece by piece. For this purpose I created a test harness in which I could enter the XML data and the FO sheet and generate the PDF outside of Apex. This saved quite a lot of time as I did not have to delete the report query each time I wanted to apply a change.
Anyway heres the XSL-FO for a letter generated by the system.
I use a bit map for a logo, I checked the size of it and it is 56k.
I'll submit a further post with the test harness.
Also, let me know if you need help installing FOP.
    Cheers
    Paul

  • How to embed Labview-style charts objects into html pages?

    Hello all,
I am building a C# (.Net) application that publishes html web pages. Certain pages must contain graphs that I refresh dynamically using select statement that query data from SQL SERVER databases. I like the look-and-feel of the Labview graphs and would like to know in details by which means I could embed them in my C# application. I have looked on the NI web site but aside of certain old articles about Components Works (CW) in Labview 8, have not found any other information on the subject.
Also are there alternate objects that you know on the market that would be more easily embeddable into html pages and still have the same functions as the Labview graphing objects?
    Thanks a lot
    Christophe

    Hello Crist0phe,
Like tst mentioned it might be a good idea to have a look at Measurement Studio and evaluate it.
You can just download the trial version over here:
    http://sine.ni.com/np/app/main/p/docid/nav-99/lang/nl/
FYI: You can consider Measurement Studio as the newer set of tools that replaced Component Works.
You could kind of consider it as a "next step" in evolution after Component Works.
Most .NET developers that use Measurement Studio also really like the WPF UI Controls, so for sure have a look at them while evaluating Measurement Studio.
