How to Embed a CR in Dashboard best practice

i want to work on Inventory Dashboard in Purchasing module Best practice.
it has 4 CR reports to embed " all plant in client " ,All inventory KPI , All Material Group , Turn ovar. ( i already uploaded on CMC )
the Excel of the dashboard has 5 pages " setting " , Data , Display , Datasource , transaction .
So how to embed CR reports in Dashboard and how can i know which cell should i can insert my CR.

You mean i embed every CR in a diffrent excel sheet ?! how this can be done if i have 3 CR reports and 5 excel sheets and how can i know which CR repot to embed in excel sheet ? please i need more details

We are about to implement row level security in our BI project using OBIEE, and the solution we found most convenient for our requirement was to use session variables with initalization blocks.
The problem is that this method is listed as a "non best practice" in the Oracle documentation.

Managing Session Variables
System session variables obtain their values from initialization blocks and are used to authenticate Oracle Business Intelligence users against external sources such as LDAP servers or database tables. Every active BI Server session generates session variables and initializes them. Each session variable instance can be initialized to a different value. For more information about how session variable and initialization blocks are used by Oracle Business Intelligence, see "Using Variables in the Oracle BI Repository" in Oracle Fusion Middleware Metadata Repository Builder's Guide for Oracle Business Intelligence Enterprise Edition.

authenticating / authorizing part is take care by weblogic and then USER variable initialized and you may use it for any initblocks for security.
Init block for authenticating / authorizing and session variables are different, i guess you are mixing both.

Any best practice recommendations for controlling access to dashboards?

     I understand that an Xcelsius dashboard compiled into a .swf file contains no means for providing access control to limit who can or how many times they can run the dashboard. Basically, if they have a copy of the .swf they can use it as much as they'd like. To protect access to sensitive data I'd like to be able to control who can access the dashboard and how many times or how long they can access it for.
     From what I've read it seems the simplest way to do this is to embed the swf file into a web portal that requires a user to authenticate before accessing the file. I suppose I can then handle how long they can access it from the back end.
     If I do this, is there anyway a user can do something like <right click - save as> on the flash file to save it on their local machine? Is there a best practice means for properly protecting the dashboard?
Any advice would be appreciated,

The best practice for creating reports and dashboard

Hello guys
I am trying to put together a list of best practice on how to create reports and dashboards using OBIEE presentation service. I know a lot of those dos and donts are just corporate words that don't apply consistantly in real world environment, but still I'd like to know if Oracle has any officially defined best practice or not.
the only best practice I can think of when it comes to building reports and dashboards is:
Each subject area should contain only one star schema that holds data for a specific business information
Is there anything else?

How to embed an Ixos tif into a web dynpro

Does anybody know how to embed a tif image into an iFrame or maybe a image UI element....not sure what the best approach for doing this is.
We have a url available to Ixos server which launches the tif image: Example:

How would we have this tif image already embedded in an iFrame when the application launches? We don't want it to launch a new window.

An Image UI element will not work because TIF is not an image format supported natively by browsers. In IFrame should work, just set the "src" property to the URL.

And regarding QT video template on iWeb's Movie page, can I drag any kind of QT ? Like H.264 QT for example, or is it just for Mpeg2 QT?

What is your video codec you are working with? NTSC (and PAL) DV is about 13 gigs/hr uncompressed. When you export your QT movie from your editing application and convert the file to flv you are compressing the video at that time with a determined bit rate and video dimension. quality and file size comes down to math. File size = bit rate x movie length. Quality is bit rate in relation to dimension. Surprisingly enough the recommended video encoder for flv is Flash Video Encoder application that comes with Flash. Sorenson Squeeze is arguably the best flv video encoder. Visual Hub is not recommended if quality and efficiency is desired. Flash Player is a browser plug-in that that allows web visitors to view Flash videos on your website from their web browse. Most already have Flash player installed and you can insert a script that checks to see if the visitor has Flash player installed and if it doesn't a window will appear informing the visitor that they are required to instal the Flash Player in order to view Flash content on your website. A URL is also provided to direct the visitor to the Flash Player download page. Insert this script into the <head></head> of your site:

Beginning with Flash Player 9 h.264 QT movies are now supported for playback. Simply change the file extension from .m4v to .flv to convert the h.264 video to Flash video that can be viewed from Flash Player 9+ on a web browser.

How to embed ffmpeg encoder lib with flascc

I'm trying to embed ffmpeg encoder in a swf.
How to proceed? I have download the ffmpeg shared lib from http://ffmpeg.zeranoe.com/builds/
Should I create Cmakelist file in each directory like in the Box2D flascc default example, or is there any other way to compile the encoder without have to listed all source file?
What is the best practice?

In the case of ffmpeg, I have to build and install.
I launch

Everything works (it's very long, but it works).
Libs are present in flassc/sdk/usr/lib directory (libavcodec.a, libavdevice.a etc), but when in ffmpeg/docs/example I try to use the Makefile like this:

How to embed fonts in a textbox in adobe acrobat 9

Hi all,
The forms has beed designed in adobe acrobat 9.It has the text in the textboxes with a fontstyle of DejaVu Sans Mono.The client or the user generates the form by clicking on the appropriate link and the textboxes are populated accordingly.The problem is they dont have the fontstyle used in the textbox installed on their system.So whenever they generate the pdf the font in the textbox doesn't print in properly.Is there anyway we could force it to use the font which we have originally set up.Thanks in advance

How to embed audio to my website using quicktime when I get "file not found

i've been trying to embed audio into my website all night and I get a file not found message even though I;ve checked 100 times and all files are where links say they should be..
but even just linking to audio (mp4) files won't work...
everything is o.k. with non-audio links on my website - only the mp4 audio can't be found.
can anyone help me? or post the correct code?

Could someone please suggest the best practices of how to generate an XML file from a resultset? I am developing a web application in Java with Oracle database and one of my tasks is to generate an XML file when the user, for example, click a "download as XML" button on the JSP. The application is basically like an Order with line items. I am using Struts and my first thought has been to have an action class which will extend struts's DownloadAction and through StAX's Iterator API to create an XML file. I intend to have a POJO which will have properties of all columns of my order and line items tables so that for each order I get all line items and:
1. Write order details then
2. Through an iterator write line items of that order to an XML file.
I will greatly appreciate for comments or suggestions on the best way to do this through any pointers on the Web.

How to embed the needed fonts in a pdf file

Dear Sir/Mam,
We had purchased licenced version of adobe acrobat x pro
We are facing issues while embedding the font in the pdf file
Please find the below mentioned requirement
Requirement:
We have a pdf file (template) with some static images and static text in it
We need to populate dynamic data in the pdf file for this we may use text boxes
We need to set the font name for the text box and embed that font in the pdf template (Eg:Font to be used in textboxes is "RotisSansSerif-Bold")

Please let us know how to embed the needed fonts in the pdf file?
Once user exports the pdf file, even if user doesnot have the fonts installed in his system the text need to be displayed in the same fonts,how to acheive this?Eg:if we define "RotisSansSerif-Bold" as font in the textboxes,after exporting the data the text need to be in the same font.
Note:
Fonts will only installed in the application server and not in the client system
The mentioned requirement need to work on below mentioned specifications
OS:Windiows-XP, Browser:IE

There is a similar post just a few away from yours. I will suggest what I would try. Open your job settings file (press or print preferred to get all fonts) and then select the properties and the font tab. At your font to the always embed list and you will likely need to uncheck the subset box. Then save your job settings (give it a name that is meaningful to you, you can not use the settings file you started with as they are read only and I do not recommend changing that). Maybe that will do the job. Of course that is for the creation of the PDF, I forgot you were talking about a form. You might check the form field properties, but I suspect you have already tried that. Guess I don't play with forms enough. Others may be by to answer.
