How to enable AT&T new iPad 4G Hot Spot

I know that AT&T doesn't support the hot spot feature and Verizon does, but can this feature be enabled when overseas and using a local sim? Such as if I go to Spainw ith my AT&T new iPad 4G, can I jus tpick up a local prepaid sim and enable the hot spot feature?

But with a prepaid, how can you get it enabled? I'm not aware of any prepaid plans technically support hotspot, but it would work via other devices that just give you the option such as a pure Android device does.
My Android device does not provide hotspot functionality without enabling a hotspot plan from the carrier. The option is there in my device to turn on hotspot functionality but it won't do anything without a plan.

  • How do I sync my new ipad mini with my old ipad 2, without losing any apps or data in notes?  I need step by step instructions for first-time sync with ipad mini.  Thanks.

How do I sync my new ipad mini with my old ipad 2, without losing any apps or data in notes?  I need step by step instructions for first-time sync with ipad mini.  Thanks.

If you synced it many times, you have to have a backup. It's just a question of how old that backup is now. When did you last sync?
First of all launch iTunes on your computer and go to Edit>Preferences>Devices. Do you see any backups for you iPad in that window? If so, how new is the newest backup? That will be the backup that you will want to use. But remember that if you use that backup and it is one month old, you can only restore from that date back in time. Anything that you did on the iPad in the past month will not be in that backup.
Turn on the new iPad Minin and start activating OTA via WiFi. You will get to a certain point in the process where you will be given the choice to Set up as new, Restore from iCloud - or Restore from iTunes. You will want to select Restore from iTunes.
That is the short and sweet version. There are step by step instructions in this article. This applies to the mini as well as the iPad 4 or the iPad 3 for that matter.

" how can I sync my iphone to my mac book without losing all the music and pictures on it?"
You cannot.  Copy everything you want form the old computer to the new one, then sync it.
it basically says you have to erase your iphone to sync to a new itunes!
Correct Iphone will sync, or manually manage, with one and only one computer/library at a time. Syncing, or manually managing, to another will indeed erase the current content.

If you bought the Mini within the past 14 days you can get a refund and buy the Air. Take it to an Apple store.
    Otherwise.......

How to Copy backup to new ipad?

Do you mean this via icloud. Today i had my ipad3 exchanged under warranty (dust under the screen)(Thankyou apple for easy replacement). I had to set up ipad as new. Then check what ios version i had on this new ipad (it was 5) the icloud version from my previous ipad was 6 which was preventing my new ipad accepting the upload from the icloud. First i updated the software on new ipad to ios6 , after that had completed , i had to reset and erase settings again.  Then new ipad could see my old icloud account and downloaded it. All is back on. Happy days.

  • I do not like how it works on my new iPad ios6.

I do not like how it works on my new iPad ios6. How do I go back to 5.1.1?
    Help please.

There are  parts of your recent post that I do not understand, you can try a few things though.
press and hold the home and sleep/wake buttons until the apple logo appears on the screen, and then let go.
    settings/general/reset/reset all settings
if the above do not solve your issue then a complet restore may be necessary.

  • How can I get my new ipad 4 to read my compact flash cards? If not can I download the images directly from my camera?

how can I get my new ipad 4 to read my compact flash cards? If not, can I download the images directly from my camera?

Tom, thanks for your quick reply. I'm a commerical photographer using Canon 5D mk2's mostly and have in the past just downloaded images to a mac book for backup. I really liked the compact size of the Ipad and just got the retina model with the camera connection kit and seem to be hearing that CF readers can't be used with it b/c they draw too much power. Seems like I remember reading I could use a cord that might have come with my cameras to download directly to the Ipad. I haven't tried it yet as I can't find the connection but then you just said it can't be done?
I'm COMPLETLY lost as to your "first pluging in a flash drive to my computer, advice. Do you mean Ipad when you say computer?  "then put your movie/photo files into the folder." HOW????????
Then plug it into the Ipad??????     TOTALLY lost.
Also your saying just "do a google search for a reader doesn't work b/c NONE are able to work with the newer Ipads b/c they use TOO much power or so everyone says everyone that have tried.
Hope you can help a little more b/c I'm really getting frustrated with all the conflicting advice!
    Thanks, Dennis  [email protected]

  • How do I restore my new Ipad? I forgot the passcode.

How do I restore my new Ipad? I forgot the passcode.  I tried to connect it to Itunes, but I had never synced it before. So it says it can not access the Ipad because it is locked by a passcode that I need to unlock it to access it?  Uggghh!!

This link should provide the help you need.  You are going to have to restore your iPad as a New Device since you never backed it up.  You'll then have to download your apps again (you won't be charged as long as you use the same Apple ID you downloaded them from to begin with.  You'll have to rebuild your contacts, everything.  From now on, make sure you are regularly backing up your device.
