How to enable "Create Multicam Clip"?

Hi,
First post. I have footage from a Canon XHA1 @ 1920 x 1080 and a Canon XA10 @ 1440 x 1080. If I multi-select these clips in the event viewer, I cannot get the "Create Multicam Clip" menu to enable. I thought I woudn't have to do any conversions to make this happen in X. I'm using the free trial right now.

Pilot error, I think. I haven't verified this yet, but it looks like the clips MUST be part of the same event. Sort of makes sense.

Hey! I tried both suggestions but even the self contained quicktime file has the green screen frames popping up.
I just dont get it, it's infuriating!
I used "chroma keyer" effect on the clip, only enable "key on saturation", the green screen disappears, I place clip on V2 and image on V1. Image is then visible where the green screen was. All is well until the last frame before a next clip because on that ast frame the green screen appears again. Where am I going wrong? Please help!

But the program informs that it is impossible because the different size frame. Video dv and hdv in the multicamera are incompatible? (Excuse for possible errors in the text)

FCPX renders .mov files to AppleProRes to create multicam clip

I use two .mov files to create multicam clip. During this operation FCPX renders these .mov files and create Apple PreRes files that are10x larger.
Question: Can I create multicam clip without re-rendering? I understand that it is easier to edit using these large files, but I can edit single clip using original .mov file, so, it is not mandatory.

It optimizes the files. Switch this function off in Playback preferences.

How do I re-enable a Multicam clip

I had a multicam clip already created and have edited it into many sequences. I loaded it into my source monitor and accidently unchecked the enable option. Now that same sequence is no longer a mutlicam clip and when I load it into the source montior, my system crashes. Help, is there any way to make it back in to a multicam clip?

Funny because in my timeline, the original multicam clip still showed green, and right clicking it revealed Premiere still considered it as multicam media. But the same clip in the project window did not have a multicam icon. The audio info column still indicated that it was mutlichannel mapped to 2 stereo tho as well! There's no way for me to reenable multicam except from the source window, but loading it there crashed my system.
So I've re-nested the sequence, and enabled multicam in that new nest, and it seems that all the occurances of the old multicam clip are now linked to the new multicam enabled nest! I dont understand it but i guess it works.

i remember that with fc7 the main task to accomplish this was to shot with same setting but now it seems to work althought they are not same.

If the AS ABAP is your datasource for your users there is NO WAY you can create users in the portal UME.
● If the UME has read-only access, you cannot modify user attributes stored in the ABAP system, like first name and last name. You can modify attributes stored in the UME database, like street. Even if read-only access is assigned, users can still change their own passwords.
● If the UME has read-write access, you can create users using the tools of the J2EE Engine. Users created in this way are stored as users in the ABAP system. Extended user data that cannot be stored in the standard ABAP user record is stored in the database of the UME.
in the read/write access the users are created only in the ABAP side and not the java. If you have the read access you cannot create users in the abap side. hence you need the SAP_BC_JSF_COMMUNICATION role to create users in the AS ABAP.....
Trust me .......bottomline ....you cannot create users in the JAVA UME if you have AS ABAP as your datasource !!!!

Keyframes... How to enable on a Clip

How do I enable the keyframe function on a clip in the timeline?
I have a video clip that I've trimmed (both ends) and I can't figure out how to add the little control-dots (keyframes?) on the yellow line in the clip that will enable me to manually do a Fade out (nothing happens when I select FADE VIDEO for that clip...maybe because I trimmed it).
Anyhow, where do I turn this function ON for clips (video or audio)?

Just realized that the keyframe control is dehighlighted for that clip until you select it and the cursor is on the clip itself.

How to enable create folder Icon

When I am using the setSaveDialog() method of JFileChooser to select the location, the default directory which appears if no argument is passed is "My Documents". In Windows XP professional edition the create folder icon in this dialog gets disabled whenever the "My Documents" directory is chosen. But this is not the scenario with Windows 2000 professional. Can anyone suggest how to activate the create folder icon if "My Documents" is chosen as the default directory using JFileChooser.

I know how to take a clip and have FCE mark the DV start/stop points, but is there a way to have FCE then automatically make individual clips based on the DV in/out points?

Yes, that's actually what is 'behind the scene' in each subclip. This is actually a very powerful thing, as you will discover as you gain experience editing.
Yes, they act as if they are completely independent of each other, you can apply further edits, filters, effects etc. to each subclip individually.
Switching from iMovie to FCE takes some adjustment, that's for sure. But FCE is much much more capable than iMovie.
I encourage you to get a copy of Tom Wolsky's excellent book - Final Cut Express 2 Editing Workshop. It's the best thing available to get you started with FCE ... and it includes a DVD where he shows you the differences between using iMovie and FCE. Tom has also recently produced an FCE training DVD, too, Final Cut Express HD Made Easy, and he is an active participant in this forum.

How can I use all tracks from multi-channel source audio with Multicam clips?

I cannot figure this out. Working in Premiere I'm prepping for a 2 camera show, with typically 4 to 6 track dual-system audio recorded by the sound guy. I can sync, and make multicam clips any number of ways–whether sync by timecode, sync by audio, or eyeballing–but whenever I edit using the MC clip, Premiere mixes down all the audio channels into a stereo single track, and I cannot pick and choose which audio track from the original to use. With 2-5 people mic'd on lavs, I need to be able to choose which audio is either cut in or heard at any given shot.
Is there any way to have control in multicam clips over which track of audio gets edited into the timeline, or even: that all tracks of audio get cut in? It's very important for the editors to be able to see waveform (which also disappears for some reason in the mixdown) and pick and choose which audio is heard?
I'm sure this might be a simple fix, but I cannot get my head around it for workflow purposes for my assistant editors. We need to use multicam, but this audio thing is driving all of us crazy. None of us can figure out how to have a multicam clip and use it with control over what audio is cut in.

True, but what I need to be able to do is have my multicam sequence in the source monitor, and cut into my working sequence with either just the audio I need from the sound guy's multi-channel WAV, OR cut in all the sound and from then I can just enable or disable what I need or don't need. But also be able to match back to the Multicam source from my working sequence.
I don't want to have to open the synced sequence, and razor blade the things I need and have to copy and paste into my working sequence in order to have the full spectrum of my multi-channel mono lav WAV files...with their waveforms visible.
Essentially, I want my Multicam clips to load in the source monitor, and the ability to cut them into the working sequence without it mixing down the audio into a single track with no visible waveform–which is what it is doing currently. Can I choose to edit in either ALL of the tracks of the WAV file along with the camera shot I want, or control which audio gets cut in?

Why is premiere creating one really big clip instead of many smaller ones when I am trying to create multicam source sequences

Ok I am trying to create multicam clips from a shoot. I have 198 clips from two to three cameras and an audio source. I have created multicam clips in the past by simply putting them all into one bin, selecting all, right click, Create multicam source sequence, and then it processes them and creates multicam clips for me to use to edit.
I am doing that process now to only have PP make one really big clip instead of a bunch of little ones. Help!

And the other thing I think of is that you opened up the multicamera sequence as a New Sequence From Clip, instead of Open in Timeline.
That would give you one long flat sequence, but 198 panels if you opened it in your multicamera monitor

How to enable Create with reference from Sales Document type YX1 to Sales Document type ZX3.
Currently, I am getting error 'Copying from sales document type YX1 to ZX3 is not supported'.
Please let me know the steps to be followed.

Hi,
The error clearly suggests that there is no copy control maintained b/w invoice YX1 and sales order type ZX3. You need to maintain that in SPRO > Sales and Distribution > Sales Documents > Copy control for sales documents. (You may check the correct node here). Here, you select the billing document to sales document.
Check for source and destination. You can take the source as F2 and CR (if ZX3 is a credit Memo request) as Destination document. You can copy the same and change the source and destination as YX1 as source and ZX3 as destination. Then, at the item level, if you have a new item category you can specify it as the 'Proposed Item Category'. Save it.
Now try to create the sales document ZX3 w.r.t YX1... It should work.

....maybe the IDES distribution was delivered with fault settings and one client is set as client of a CUA....
So first check SCUA as already suggested.
If there is no valid CUA-landscape, either delete the CUA landscape directly in transaction SCUA or run report RSDELCUA (called also be SCUA) in SE38. It is advisable to check also BD64, for an existing landscape afterwards and delete it if there is one (RSDELCUA does not delete the BD64-settings).
