How to enable my touch screen?

I'm using Hp sleekbook 14 Windows 8 but i just notice that i coudn't use my touch screen i want to enable, i tried to go to settings at the control panel and at pen and touch but there is no check button to enable or disable the touch screen i tried also on the device manager that i've watched on the youtube but its only for disabling the touch screen? i try to open the human interfacedevices and all the folder in the inside of it is enable but my screen is still not working, what im gonna do?

You shouldn't need to do anything, as the TouchScreen was enabled at the factory when Windows was installed.

How to disable T410s touch SCREEN under windows XP?

Hi,
For the life of me i can't figure out how to disable the touch SCREEN (not to be confused with the touch PAD) - can someone please advise? I'm running Windows XP SP3. I've searched all the configuration settings I could think to check, google, these forums, etc.

How can I handle touch screen events with Swing?

Hi,
I was wondering how i can handle touch screen events. Are there APIs for that or is it just a mouse event?

I have recently created an application that ran on a touch screen system. I used the normal mouse events attached to the swing components (onClick) and these were translated by the touch screen. Typically I created a calculator type keypad, touched the screen on the text box where I wanted the data to appear and then pressed the keypad buttons to populate the field. No special drivers, just using swing components

yeah, this is really useful info.. me too trying to build an application for the touch screen... just wondering how other events like focus gained, tree selection events are recognized by touch screen? can we have focus and tree, table selection events etc, as it is in the touch screen as well?? or everything is just mouse event only??

How can I disable touch screen for HP Pavillion DV3-2310ea

Howdy
The touchscreen on this laptop can be annoying - even though I've reduced the sensitivity, living in a cat rescue home is challenging to say the least when a strand of cat fur gets on the screen or when a tail brushes the screen, not to mention a cat sneeze -_-
I've been looking around for solutions and I found one stating unchecking the box in "Pen and Touch" in the control panel - however on this laptop there's no box to uncheck
I can't find any settings to disable touch screen, so would anyone know if there's a driver I can temporaraily disable (I'd like to KEEP the option to enable the touch screen - just to show off to friends )

In order to disable the touchscreen, you have to go to control panel, select Tablet PC settings, then select Pen and touch and do what the print screens below show you:

I have one teeny question- Is there Any way I can add on to this so it can also disable ALL user actions? (touching the screen, typing, mouse pad) BUT, for only temporary purposes so it can be enabled again when restarted? (note line #7, "shutdown.exe

I and my friend have the lenovo G560 laptops. I am running windows 7 ultimate and my friend is running ubuntu 11.04 OS in our laptops.
In Ubuntu: The multi touch is enabled by default for the laptop touch-pad. For vertical scrolling, we can use two fingers to navigate.
In Windows 7 Ultimate: I don't know how to enable this multi-touch feature.

control panel > hardware and sound > mouse > mouse properties > device settings > settings ( if you have synaptic mouse )
if you don't synaptic, check the mouse properties to enable/disable the features you'd like to.

HT1212 how to enable ipod touch

i did the same thing as told above that my ipod is never sync with computer and i followed the same instructions so many times. but it doesn't work.
first when i connect ipod it says that ipod connects to itunes but it is disabled. and after that when i turned it off and followed the same procedure as told in the support section. it didn't detect my ipod. i reinstall the itunes software in my laptop again.

Ok, well my friend was tapping the screen a little hard when an app wasn't launching, I just wanted to know whether this could damage the touch screen?

Yes, I know that, but it wasn't me who was tapping it repeatedly.
So 'hard taps' won't damage the touch screen?

How can I restore touch screen capability on safari?

The touch screen on my ipad2 when in safari has become inactive. I can open web pages but not click links in them. The web page has taken on a gray tint. The top right corner shows a padlock surrounded by a refresh symbol. I suspect this is something simple. Any ideas?
