How to enable only intel graphics/discrete graphics on T400(WxgA+), windows xp,

I got a T400  with switchabale graphics (something i dont understand). I want my 9 cells to  provide as long a run as feasible
without recharging. Which mode of graphics should i set it to and how do i do it?.
My blackbox (a bit heavy for me for carrying ) is a t400 with 9 cells and a wxga+, 2gb,120GB.

Edited: Sorry, missed the first time that you were on XP. The answer below is for Vista only. For XP because of op sys limitations you don't have true switchable graphics capability. You can switch between the two graphics cards during BIOS setup only. To switch, reboot turning power off, then power on and on initial screen hold F1 to enter BIOS setup. Choose config and then display, and toggle graphics between integer (energy saving) and discrete (high performance). First time you switch you may have to reboot an extra time to allow the drivers to install.
If you have the latest release of the power manager (2.42) right click on it (the battery icon) and choose switchable graphics. If you are still on 2.37 or earlier release of the power manager left click instead. Once you have found the switchable graphics option switch between the two graphics cards by choosing energy saving and high performance GRAPHICS. (NOT similar options in the normal part of the power manager.)
Here is the Lenovo switchable graphics FAQ

  • How to enable only 3G

I see that there is no option to disable 3G alone in iPhone 4s. Is there a way to do just the opposite ? ( enable only 3G, disable 2g and edge and GPRS ). OS VERSION - 5.0.1

    No.

  • How to enable only a subset of LDAP users to be able to login to OBIEE

We have enabled LDAP authentication. Now every single LDAP user can login to Presentation server. That is an issue. Not all LDAP users are OBIEE users. Only a small subset of the LDAP users should be able to access OBIEE. We have a database table that lists all OBIEE users. This table however does not have user password information. User Password information is stored in the LDAP.
so question is how do we limit OBIEE access to only OBIEE users and not all LDAP users.
    Thank you

Thanks for your suggestion. If i understand it correctly, user will still be able to login to Presentation server but will not have access to any content using your solution approach. Did i get it right?
In my current setup, user gets authenticated against LDAP, then i extract user group for that user and assign it to GROUP. Only those users gets assigned to GROUP who have access to OBIEE. We have secured RPD and Catalogs so that user must be a member of at least one GROUP to be able to access content.
Right now, a LDAP user who is not present in OBIEE user table, is able to login to BI Presentation server but is not able to see any thing. Because user gets authenticated, but does not have any authorization rights. So far so good.
I would like to take next step, where use login to BI Presentation server is denied if user id does not exist in the OBIEE user table ( but exists in the LDAP).
    Thank you

  • How to enable SLAT/Intel EPT on MSI CX61 0OL-696US

I have an CX61 0OL-696US running Windows 8.1 Pro and am wanting to run a linux distro via Microsoft Hyper-V however, from what I've read, I need SLAT/Intel EPT enabled, but I can not find a means to enable this.  According to the Intel site, my processor supports VT-x and VT-x with EPT, but running the SysInternals CoreInfo.exe shows that EPT is not enabled and I can't find anywhere in the BIOS to enable it.
    Anyone have any ideas?
I know I can run Ubuntu via VMWare, but I'm not wanting to install another application if I can pull this off with Windows Hyper-V.

I don't know.  I do know that on all the machines I have tested with, enabling Hyper-V breaks VMWare.  VMWare will think that VT is turned off in BIOS.

  • How to enable only one resource profile outof 3 while disabling user in OIM

    Hello,
I have 3 resource profile for AD user with 3 diffrent IT resources.
When i try to disable the user in OIM, then it disables all the resource profiles attached for that user.
I would like NOT to disable one of AD User Resource profile out of 3 .
    How can I do that?
    Thanks

This is the same post as one made about a week ago.
    I would suggest the following:
    1. Create an adapter that has an input of the domain, or some other identifying attribute. In this adapter, use logic to return a response of either DISABLE or DO_NOTHING.
    2. Create a new Process Task called something like "Disable Resource Determiner". Attach your adapter you just made, and on your response codes, for DISABLE, trigger the disable task, and on DO_NOTHING, then do nothing... Set this adapter to be triggered on disable.
    3. On your previous disable task, remove the disable trigger.
Now when your disable is triggered, you have logic to determine which target resource is being used, and then whether or not to disable the resource or do nothing.

  • How To Install Only DAC Client 10.1.3.4.1 on Windows Client Machine

    Hi,
I want to install ONLY the DAC 10.1.3.4.1 client on my Windows client machine.
However, when I launch the Oracle Universal Installer the install options are greyed out and I'm forced to install both the Client and Server products.
I don't want to do this.
Please suggest me how do I go about this issue.
    Thanks.

In version 7.9.5.1 the instructions say to:
You must satisfy the following requirements on the machine on which you want to
    install an additional DAC Client:
    ■ JDK 1.5 or higher must be installed. For more information, see Section 4.3.4.5,
"Download and Install the Java JDK".
    ■ The appropriate ODBC database connection must be created on the machine. For
more information, see Section 4.3.4.3, "Create ODBC Database Connections".
    ■ Download the Hibernate files from the Hibernate Web site. For more information,
see Section 4.3.4.6, "Download Hibernate Libraries".
To install an additional instance of the DAC Client on Windows
    1. Copy the \OracleBI\DAC\ directory and its subfolders from the Oracle BI
Applications installation (on Windows) to the target Windows machine (for
example, to a directory called \DAC\).
    2. Copy the \OracleBI\dwrep\ directory and its subfolders from the Oracle BI
Applications installation (on Windows) to the target Windows machine.
Note: Alternatively, if the target machine already has Oracle Business Intelligence
Enterprise Edition installed, you can run the Oracle BI Applications installer on the
target machine to install the DAC Client. For information about how to run the Oracle
BI Applications installer, see Section 4.4, "Running the Oracle BI Applications Installer
    on Windows."
I haven't attempted this with the 7.9.6 version yet. Nor have I reviewed the documentation to see if it is mentioned as an alternative.

The 15" Retina's will have better performance than any 13" Retina. Not only do the 15" machines have dedicated GPU's, but they also have quad-core processors, whereas the 13" Retina's only have dual-core processors.

Any idea how to turn off intel card and used only radeon?

I'm not entirely sure for your model/make, but it may be not possible to shut down the intel and use the radeon only. Since the intel is the one physically connected to the screen, so all graphics go through it in any case.
You should however be able to switch off the ati card to save battery power. Which is what I do, still using vgaswitcheroo, since it didn't work otherwise:
    https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/hy … e_Graphics
Or you may try PRIME to use the DGP (ati card) on an application base (for 3-D apps):
    https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/PRIME
I think I tried it once, but I don't remember if it worked and I don't need it. Since for real 3-D apps the radeon (ati) driver isn't that good, and OTOH for compositing (desktop effects) the intel is good enough... (Edit: +my laptop heats up too much using the ati.)
    What's your purpose ?
Regarding why the ati isn't shown in your xrandr output:
    Is xf86-video-ati installed ?
Is the radeon module loaded (output of 'lsmod |grep radeon') ?
    Edit: punctuation, clarify

  • How to enable some DFF segments on AR Trx form for specific context only

I have a requirement to enable 3 of many DFF segments on AR Transactions line DFF for particular context only. I am not able to figure out how to achieve it.
When we query for an Invoice and navigate to lines DFF I want these fields to be allowed to update. Currently they appear as read-only. These are interface line attributes used across many different contexts but I need them as update allowed only for few contexts.
I went through different forum topics and was trying to use security rules but these segments do not have the security enabled flag checked under DFF segments and when I try to check it it throws an error as to update not allowed.
Form personalization doesn't work on DFF, so that is out too.
    Any help would be appreciated.
    Thanks.

    Hi,
My requirement is a little different. We already have context and reference setup when we implemented Oracle 3 yrs back but what I need is to enable few segments / attributes inside a context that too when the invoice is queried for not when it is being created manually. The same attributes are being used by different contexts but I need to enable only for a few and not all contexts.
Appreciate if you are able to help on this.
    Thanks.

  • Satellite U500 - How to enable Intel virtualization technology?

How to enable Intel Virtualization Technology on Satellite U500 or if this feature is already available or not because im VMware configure in my laptop and when I wont to run it I'm getting the message
*You have configured this virtual machine to use a 64-bit guest operating system. However, 64-bit operation is not possible. This host does not support VT.*
By the way my Laptop is Core2duo, Windows 7 Home Premium 64bit, RAM 3GB

    Hi hersi,
Yes, thats the important model number.
According the Toshiba website your model has Intel Core2Duo T6600 CPU. So I have checked the Intel page directly and T6600 CPU doesnt support Intel Virtualization Technology (VT-x). You can check this yourself:
    http://ark.intel.com
Unfortunately there is no option to enable Virtualization :(

    Aamir,
Set the text item's Enabled property to False at design time. Then, using SET_ITEM_PROPERTY (see Forms Help), set to Enabled in the relevent part of the code on the WHEN-BUTTON-PRESSED triggers on your Insert and Update buttons. Similarly, disable on your Save button once the cnahges are saved etc.
