How to enable removed add-ons?

I accidentally removed one of my add-ons on firefox and i try to reinstall firefox but it doesn't help me solve my problem

If you removed an add-on, re-install that add-on.

• How do you identify and remove add-ons/extensions

The explanation of how to remove add-ons tells you to click on menu (and then 3 parrelel bars) What menu is that? I figured out(by trying each and every menu until I figured out it was the tools menu. when I get to the last step it says click the remove button. There is NO remove button at that point (just an enable button which is the last thing I want to do. I am talking about the Cinema ploos extension. It represents it's self as an upgrade with many improved features, but all it is is an add bot that is noisy and obnoxious and they want a one time fee (extorsion) to remove it

Clear the cache and the cookies from sites that cause problems.
"Clear the Cache":
*Tools > Options > Advanced > Network > Offline Storage (Cache): "Clear Now"
"Remove Cookies" from sites causing problems:
*Tools > Options > Privacy > Cookies: "Show Cookies"
Start Firefox in [[Safe Mode]] to check if one of the extensions or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Appearance/Themes).
*Don't make any changes on the Safe mode start window.

hello leothedc, you can also access the addons manager by typing '''about:addons''' into the address bar.

• How can I delete add-ons - your help advice does not work.

Your advice says click on 'Tools' then 'Add-ons' and it then takes me directly to the add-ons page. There is no option 'Extension or appearance or plug-ins' which I can choose.

In order to uninstall a possibly unwanted extension, please do the following:
#From the Firefox window click the Firefox button at the top left and select ''Add-ons'', or, if the Firefox button is not shown, click the ''Tools'' menu and click ''Add-ons''.
#Once the Add-on Manager has opened in a new tab, click the ''Extensions'' button on the left side of the window.
#You should now see a list of your installed extensions on the right side together with buttons on the right side of each extension.
#To remove an extension from Firefox, simply click the ''Remove'' button. You should see a message that informs you about the successful removal of the add-on.
#Note that some add-ons require a Firefox restart to be removed completely. To perform a Firefox restart after the add-on removal, click the ''Restart now'' link in the message.
You can find further information about uninstalling extensions in the following articles:

I can reenable them but FF will disable them on the next startup. I uninstalled version 13 and installed version 12. Problem gone! So I'm still using version 12 and am afraid to update to version 13.
This problem began when I was trying to research and fix a problem (no history all-of-a-sudden) so it probably was something I caused. Can't recall everything I did though.
So: Does the addon problem I described have a solution? If so, I'll update my version 12 to version 13. Please respond.....

• I want to enable all add ons in safe mode, how could i do it?

i have added parental control add on now i want to enable that add on in safe mode as well. what is the way to do it.

SafeMode is a troubleshooting / diagnostic mode that purposely disables all installed extensions; you can't selectively enable specific extensions while you're running in the SafeMode.

• How to access installed Add-ons like OneTab?

I have installed OneTab to my Firefox am unsure how it works as I can't find the icon/button/shortcut to access it. It is showing as 'Enabled' in the Extensions list.

Hi,
Thanks a lot again for the suggestions.
I did go through the OneTab Help page and the following options are available to access/disply OneTab.
1. The icon on the Toolbar (In my case this neither shows nor lets me add it from the List)
2. The OneTab right click menu (In my case, there is no Onetab menu in the default Right Click menu)
3. Keyboard Shortcut - Alt + Shift + 1 (This doesn’t work as well)
I had written to the OneTab team (Onetab.com/feedback) twice and am yet to receive a reply from them. In the ‘Add-Ons’ page, I have now removed all other extensions and OneTab is showing as enabled.
It could be a setting that is preventing OneTab to alter the Toolbars as Gnospen is suggesting and this point brings to my notice an update on the OneTab Info (in the ‘Add-Ons’ page) that was added in Nov 2014:
''A small minority of people are seeing a blank page instead of their OneTab tabs. This does *not* mean that you have lost them. They are still stored in Firefox, but something is preventing the OneTab extension from loading properly. Please try going to the Add-Ons menu option in Firefox and temporarily disabling all add-ons except OneTab and then restarting Firefox. This should allow OneTab to load normally. We are also looking into an alternate solution for those this does not work for. ''
Just for the record, I have already tried the following:
• Disabled all other extensions but Onetab and restarted Firefox.
• Removed all other extensions but OneTab and and restarted Firefox.
• Removed all extensions including OneTab and re-installed just OneTab after restarting Firefox.
• I removed Firfox and re-installed it and re-installed just OneTab.
Thanks.

• How to access downloaded add ons in windows 8

add ons show in manage addons area, how do find them so I can use them icons not in customize tool bar option McAfee site check add on in on add on bar at bottom but other add ons are not

did a test run of this suggestion on my desktop PC - all worked as detailed in answer. Was able to add/remove icons easily. The icons were also on the view/tools list of options.
On my lap top when I select tools/add ons the add ons are listed (showing what the icon looks like too) the enable/disable box read 'disable' for both add ons
When view/toolbar/customize is selected the add on icons are not present in the box nor on the tool bar
I reset toolbars to default setting with no effect

• How to view all add-ons in a category at the Firefox add-ons section

When I browse for add-ons within a chosen category, only a few special-featured add-ons appear. Below this are samples of "top rated" "new" etc. add-ons in ALL categories and these have a "browse all top rated" or "...all new" but I can find no option to browse all add-ons in the CHOSEN CATEGORY...how can I get to the pages of allo add-ons within the chosen category and not just the special featured ones???

Wow, I didn't notice that change because I usually search for addons. It seems that every time they update the Addons website immediately before a Firefox major version release, they remove some important or useful function. Looks like Mozilla managed to screw it up worse than it was before.

• Removing Add-ons in Windows 7

With Windows XP we were able to remove two .sbo files from local machines to have SAP reinitialize / reinstall the assigned add-ons when there were sisues, but that file structure does not exist in Windows 7.
FYI: the two .sbo files were: AddOnsIInstall.sbo and AddOnsLocalRegistration.sbo.
I have removed the two troublesome add-ons through the Programs section of the Control Panel and have removed the Application Data files (for SAP) along with the residual Program Files data (for SAP) and have even removed add-on info from the registry.
Logging into SAP still does not prompt the add-ons to re-install. Does anyone have a fix for this?
I suspect there are other files I need to delete or I need to find those .sbo files somewhere.
Thanks in advance folks!
Regards,
Dan Berube

• Cannot remove add-ons anymore... only option is to disable them now.

As the question states.. with firefox 5.0, I'm no longer able to uninstall/remove addon-ons or extensions.... only disable them... then re-enable if I choose too. If an add-on is causing stability issues, I want it off my computer completely.... not just disabled.

Sorry, I had not noticed that the images in those links have not be updated for Firefox 4 and 5. In Firefox 4 and 5 the Add-ons open in a tab display instead of a separate small window as in prior versions. Along the left side are categories (Extensions, Appearance (formerly Themes), and Plugins).
Those must be Extensions as they do not show in your Plugins reported with your post.
