    Hi,
that is a good topic for the ADFS forum.

But you could pass the user-agent as incoming claim type Client User agent. User-agents can be manipulated, so if that is an issue you can look into Device Registration and the Device OS type from there. That is also a incoming claim but requires DRS and
DRS is not available for all plattforms.

  • How to Change Security Settings on an Existing Wireless Network

I'd like to change existing network security settings to WPA2, AES or at least to from TKIP to AES.
I'm familiar with browser access to the router and with how to change the settings on the router.
My question is how to do this as painlessly as possible for the network.  Step by step would be nice
I guess first I have to change the router settings using the computer running Easy Link Advisor?
Do I then have to disconnect/reconnect that computer?
Do I have to disconnect every other computer and then connect each one again with the updated settings?
Will the change in security settings affect my print server?  If so, do I have to set it up from scratch in ELA?
For the record, I have a WRT-300N and the print server is a 54g.
Anyone who reads this may also want to look into recent news.  May not be a big deal, but a vulnerability of WPA/TKIP has been identified.
Thanks in advance to anyone who answers.

  • How to fix Security settings for Startup folder on startup

    Hello.
i am getting the message that the security settings have changed. and due that items in my start up folder has been disabled. ( now that has not stopped me from working but it is annoying in the beginning) Now when I hit the question mark it tells you about it and the solution, it talks about have MacOsX fix it , but it does not show how On other posts it says that i would receive that option on startup but nothing there either. So How can i fix it .

    racb wrote:
i took all the folders out and restarted and the same message came up that the startupitems folder is insecure and a second message saying that folder DS_Store in the startupitems folder is disabled because of insecure settings. Now I can not see that folder in the startup items folder, any idea
Probably just as it says, DS_Store is corrupt. This stores the settings for a folder.
To see if we can find the invisible folder and remove it open Terminal in your Utilities folder and at the prompt copy and paste defaults write com.apple.finder AppleShowAllFiles True; killall Finder
If you can see the file now just delete it.
Then, switch back to visibles only and create a new folder called Startup Items.
defaults write com.apple.finder AppleShowAllFiles False; killall Finder
Or, simply creating a new Startup Items folder may be enough.

  • How to Enable Secure Boot on UEFI Systems?

SymptomsWhen attempting to enable Secure Boot, the system does not allow you to select the option to enable or disable Secure Boot.  This is due to the way Acer's UEFI implementation requires a Supervisor Password be set in order to access this option.
UEFI is a newer technology that replaces the older standard BIOS.
DiagnosisCreating a Supervisor Password in UEFI will allow you to access the Secure Boot options. It is important that you remember this password as it will be required to make any changes in the UEFI interface.
SolutionCreate a Supervisor Password to gain access to the Secure Boot option.
Refer to our FAQ for all the steps on how to access Secure Boot on Desktops, Notebooks, and Tablets:
Enable or Disable Secure Boot in Windows 8

Kostet schlappe 150,-€. Mal schauen was beim Acer rauskommt.Vielleicht gibt es ja noch einen Jumper um das UEFI BIOS zurückzusetzen

  • Two Range Expanders - How to enable security?

I have a linksys router (wrt54g ver 2) and two WRE54G range expanders both version 3.  Everything is working fine but I can't enable security because I can't access the set up webpage of one of the expanders.  Any ideas?  Or maybe I can use Mac Filtering but would I use the mac address of the expanders or the wireless computers? Or any other way to make my little network secure?
I have Windows XP and broadband.
    Thanks.

First of all you need to setup your router, and get your wireless computers working.  Then later, we can work on the range expanders.
To setup WEP security, do the following:
Turn off all your computers, except for one computer that it wired to the WRT54G.
Make sure the computer is wired to one of the numbered ports on the WRT54G, not the Internet port.  Also, make sure the wireless card in the computer is turned off.
In the computer, temporarily turn off your software firewall.
    Point your browser to 192.168.1.1
Enter your user name (if any) and password.
This will take you to the router's setup pages.
Go to the "Wireless" tab, "Basic Wireless Settings" subtab.
Change your SSID to a unique name.  Do not use "linksys".  This is the name of your wireless network, and eventually, you will need to enter it into all your network devices (computers, router, expanders, etc.).
    Set "SSID Broadcast" to "enabled".
Write down the "Wireless channel" that you are using, and save the paper.
Click on the "Save Settings" button, then wait (3-60 seconds) for the screen to refresh.
Next go to the "Wireless MAC filter" subtab.
Set the "Wireless MAC filter" to "disabled" for now.  (If you want to use this feature, we will need to come back later to set it up).
If you changed anything on this page, click the "Save Setting" button, and again wait for a screen refresh.
Next go to the "Security" tab, "Wireless Security" subtab.
Set the "Security Mode" to "WEP".
Click the "Save Settings" button, and again wait for a screen refresh.  (Note: the "Save Settings" might not work until you do the rest of the stuff in this paragraph.)
Set the "Default Transmit Key" to "1".
Set the WEP encryption to "64bit 10 hex digits"
Insert your passphrase of 8 to 16 characters (no spaces), then click the "Generate" button.
Copy down "key 1"  (it should be 10 hex digits) on a piece of paper and save it.
Click on the "Save Settings" button, and again wait for a refresh.
    Exit your browser.
Power cycle your modem, router, and computer.
Login to your router again.  Now verify that all of the above settings are still present in the router.  If not, put them in again, and be sure to click on the "Save Settings" button on each page that you update.  After you have your router setup correctly, disconnect the wire between your computer and router, then power cycle your entire system again.
Now, you must setup your computer for wireless.  This setup varies from system to system.  So you may have to try a few things to get it to work.
First, in the computer, temporarily turn off your software firewall.
Next, turn on your wireless card and try to display the available networks in your area.  Look for the network with your SSID.  If you see it, the display will probably also say "encrypted" or "WEP".  Click on your network, then click on "Connect".  The computer will then ask for your password.  At this point, enter your 10 hex digit WEP "key 1", not your WEP password or passphrase.  It should then connect.  If it does connect, verify that you have a properly working wireless Internet connection.
If it does not connect, then go to your wireless settings and look for something called "Preferred Networks" or "Profiles".  In this area, you will be able to enter the info on your network (SSID, WEP, and your "key 1" ).  Also, setup your network as your default network, with automatic login.  You may need to right click on your network and set this up in "Properties" or perhaps in "settings".  Also, while you are here, delete any networks named "linksys", and also delete any other network that you do not recognize, or that you no longer use.
Once you get one computer working, then setup your other computers for wireless.  Get all your wireless computers working properly first, and verify that they have a properly working wireless Internet connection.
When you have this done, let me know, then we can setup the range expanders.
But you must have a properly working wireless system before you can expand the range.

  • How to include security settings into InDesign PDF presets?

I have prepared an InDesign template for multiple users in my team. Ihave created a set of PDF presets for exporting PDFs to keepconsistency. I want to protect all the PDF files with password and haveto include the password protection in the PDF presets. But InDesign PDFpreset is not supporting the security tab.
Currently I have suggested the batch command in Acrobat Pro for security settings.
It would be much helpful if Adobe help me in this.

    riott.girl wrote:
Using the File>Adobe PDF Presets, chose anyone of the pre-existing Adobe pre-sets--not one that you've created.
Change the settings to the pre-sets you want, including the security settings, and then click "save preset".
That would be an nice easy solution, but there is no access to security settings in the PDF presets.

  • How to enable security in HRMS

    Hello
I want to know is there any way we can enable security in HRMS such a way that we can hide/mask National Identification Number/Salary etc from application and also from back end.
    Thanks!

Security could be enable in HRMS in various ways . Using Security profile in Oracle HRMS controls the list of Employees that are visible to a given user from “Employee/Person Screen”.
For hide/mask National Identification Number/Salary information you can go with Form personlization.

  • Can people just spy on us? How to find security settings?

I do not know how to use iChat....and accidentally hit it on as I tried to hit Safari instead...(iMac)...I left it on as I have no buddies yet...this came pre-programmed onto my iMac.
I then heard a few coughs and door slams here and there as if from a spy microphone (sort of sound! lol) and finally thought "Hey! I wonder if iChat is on?" and it was...I made it "big" and I saw I had one buddy on (I never approved anyone...I just had this list which must have came from my gmail account??). I didn't approve to view or hear anything....was it him I heard??? If so, can he just turn it on and spy on me when he wants?? I don't get that. I would think I'd have to approve "sound" to have heard him.
So, I went to apple.com's iChat video (intro) and it said to go to "preferences" then "accounts" then "security" and set security there...BUT...I go there and I don't have security. I just have my accounts (gmail and jabber shown) and NO place anywhere to set any security standards.
How can I set security standards? (IE: so I'm not just anyone's buddy who can find me?)
Also--let me know if people can just hear you or see you if you turn on iChat accidently but don't approve any texting, video, sound. I also don't just want to hear others w/o their approval. Thanks.
    Newbie.

    Hi,
To set up iChat you need to specifically enter in a Screen Name (or two or more).
These can be AIM based (AIM ones themselves or Apple IDs will login to the AIM servers) or Jabber Based (Any Jabber Server ID or Googletalk ID) which will login to the relevant Jabber Server.
If you have a Google Mail ID you may already be using that Web page to Chat with GoogleMail Buddies.
If in addition to this you Enable Talk on your Google Account you can use the Screen Name in iChat and in the Web Browser Plug-in for Macs (intels).
So to get your Google Buddies that you may already in to iChat you have to do two things.
    1) Start up iChat and Add your Google Mail ID
    2) Have enabled TALK at Google for 1) to be able to Login.
If your Address Card (The MY Card = Head and Shoulders Icon) in the Address Book has the Google Mail ID in already it may be Pre-filled when you run the iChat Start Up Screens (See top right-ish of this page)
It is almost impossible to accidentally start up iChat so that you have a working Buddy List straight away (unless you have used an Screen Name somewhere else before).
As has already been said I would check the iChat Menu > Preferences > Alerts and find out what sounds have been set.
I may receive some form of compensation, financial or otherwise, from my recommendation or link.

  • How to enable recommended settings in the Firewall in my network

Situation: we are using Windows 7 Pro on client machines in a domain environment. Windows Firewall is turned on by default. But we install Symantec Endpoint Protection which has a built-in firewall. Every time we install new version of Symantec Windows Firewall
shows that it is not using the Recommended settings. When this happens, we have problems pinging machines, connecting via RDP or sending files in out instant messaging application. One can press the "Use the recommended settings" button and after
providing the administrator password the error goes away. After the next system startup Symantec takes over this page and there is a messages that Symantec is managing firewall settings. Everything works fine till another Symantec program update (not the definitions).
I'm trying to find a way to "press that button" automatically, so i can deploy it to all users, preferably via GPO. But so far i haven't found a way. It looks like GPO only allows to change single options, not to apply some scheme. Yet if i compare
settings on two machines (one with error, one without) it shows the same result - all Network Connections > Windows Firewall > etc. settings are Not Configured.
I have found this topic https://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/windows/en-US/1c35af41-6e48-479f-a71f-3a16e119d828/windows-firewall-not-using-recommended-settings?forum=itprovistanetworking
But if i check permissions for that key on both machines, permissions are the same (though not Full).

  • How should my security settings be configured

Can someone please tell me how my firewall should be configured.  I had downloaded some free fonts and some free software for mac from various websites. Since then I have had several problems. The problem is now whenever I go to browse on any of my three web browsers safari, firefox and chrome several different windows start opening up to download Mac Keeper etc.or video player and far more. I have just purchased from the the Apple store a mac secure anti virus and it is scanning my computer but in the meant time what else can I do to protect myself from an infiltration of web software ads that are plaguing me. I have also gone into preferences in my browser to block pop ups, to not track me etc. any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated Veronika

some free software for mac from various websites
Exactly which sites? If it was Download.com or softonic, they quite often wrap the free software in adware and you'll wind up with ****ware. Never download anything from those sites; instead, either download from the app store or the developer's site directly - practice safe computing.
In order to remove MacKeeper, use their uninstaller. To get rid of adware, either remove by downloading this:
    http://www.thesafemac.com/arg/
or follow this and use it to remove:
Remove unwanted adware that displays pop-up ads and graphics on your Mac - Apple Support
And, your AV software will most likely not be able to identify adware.

  • SWF security settings seem to have no effect

Here is the location to which I publish my Captivate 5 output.
And here is how my flash security settings are configured. I've included the publishing location in the trusted locations collection.
After publishing (html output option and swf option chosen) I runthe output in the Flash Player, by directly selecting the output swf, and are rewarded with this message.
The published swf is self contained and does not call any external resource.
The behaviour occurs every time the swf is opened, irrespective of the security settings. I've also ported the swf to a second machine, and the same there. I've also put the swf onto CD and run from there, and the same again. I've not tried it on an XP system so these results are only in the context of Windows 7 (32 and 64 bit) systems. Flash Player is version 10.1 and publication output is set to Flash Player 9 or later.
Is there another security setting somewhere I have to set as the output message is scary to a user and looks unprofessional to our clients. ???
    Henry

    Hi Rick,
The spelling in the Flash message is the same as the trust setting although it does makes your eyes go wobblytrying  to decode it with all the %20 space codes in place. And of course the trust settings were set through the Flash Manager via the browse option so should have been the same.
I think we have a problem with SWF output from Captivate 5, rationale as follows:
    1) I create an identical project in Captivate 4 generate a SWF, then taking the SWF produced by Captivate 4, I move it to the folder DB Pre-production and execute it directly, result - no warning message from Flash.
    2) I execute a SWF directly on the C Drive - say one of the pre-loaders from Adobe Captivate Gallery, result - no warning message from Flash.
    3) I execute the offending SWF via a browser (I.E.8 with no trust settings on the DB Pre-production folder), result - no warning message from Flash.
    4) I load a SWF from some other product into the DB Pre-production folder and execute it directly, result - no warning message from Flash.
    5) I copy and paste the file name settings directly from any Captivate 5 SWF produced object to Flash Security Settings manager - to ensure absolute spelling - close the browser, re-boot the system, and execute it directly from DB Pre-production, result - security warning message from Flash.
I conclude that there is a glitch in the SWF output produced from Captivate 5.
And maybe this is one of the reasons that Captivate 5 buttons that invoke other segments of learning don't function as expected (I can always get the window NEW feature to work, but PARENT, TOP and CURRENT options seem blocked). Whereas my old Captivate 4 buttons that do the same still work a treat. And all loaded from the same folder, using the same browser, and the same settings.
And good idea though it is to use an .EXE projector our commercial clients, will not acccept any .exe file from an external source, in particular CD-rom.
Should I report this as an issue? Or am I just travelling over well-worn ground?
    Best regards,
    Henry
