How to enable shortcuts on "MAC" as in windows. (ie : Alt+I+I = for image size in PS )
Im using a mac system and adobe CS6 package. mainly works with Indesign, Illustrator and Photoshop.
But shortcuts doesn't works like Alt+I+I, Alt+I+S..... like that as on Windows computers.
Is there any way to enable "underline for shortcut letters" in mac for adobe products...?

Here in Photoshop on Windows OS you can see the letter for shortcut shown as underlined
In Menu bar
F for File
E for Edit
and I for Image
We can press alt+F to list file menu
and alt+E to list Edit menu
Is there any option like this to enable shortcuts for menu bar in "MAC OC"

But, why are you doing this? I've never found the need to do that.

How is the performance of Mac Pro if i use it as host for windows and linux virtual machines.
I am planning to buy a high performance PC to run my Windows and Linux servers as vitrual machines for my testing purposes.
Initially i planned to build my own computer with recommended configurations but considering space constaints and cooling factors i think Mac Pro can be a choice. But need some inputs if Mac pro (Intel Xeon E5, 12 GB RAM) is good for running virtual Machines.

You could even run Windows natively and still run your VM servers.
I have seen reports and such on MacRumors and elsewhere - run Windows natively as well as VMs (can also do testing and run Mavericks in a VM under Mavericks)
The fast internal PCIe-SSD, plus 6 or 8 cores, and 32-64GB RAM. Of course for $5,000 for 8-core, some Thunderbolt storage and 32GB/64GB RAM you can buy some serious hardware.

The closest I know is assigning "Move focus to the menu bar" in the Preferences a keyboard shortcut and then navigating with the arrow keys (letters may also work to highlight, but not to expand in and of themselves once the focus is on the menu bar).

  • How to enable routing in Mac OS?

    Hi Community,
for a server migration I need a Mac as a router. I've two NICs in a PPC G5 and I want to connect two networks over this machine. From Linux I know that the kernel must support the routing functionality and IP forwarding must be enabled. How does it works in Mac OS 10.4.x or 10.5.x?
Thanks in advance & Bye Tom

You may need to enable ip forwarding. Its disabled on my system.
    $ sysctl -a -- | grep forwarding
    net.inet.ip.forwarding: 0
    net.inet.ip.fastforwarding: 0
    net.inet6.ip6.forwarding: 0

  • How do i adjust from mac Gamma to Windows Gamma in Photoshop CS3?

It was real easy in version 7, all i did is seelct mac to windows in adobe Image Ready. There is not program like that now in CS3...how to i adjust an image with a Mac gamma of 1.8 to the Windows Gamma of 2.2? i tried the convert to profile option, but when i select a gamma of 2.2 it goes all grey....HELP can someone tell me the exact steps??

Computers, PCs or Macs, have no "gamma".

That Levels adjustment does the same thing as the Curves adjustments I suggested.  Curves are preferable to Levels, but that's a whole different chapter.

With all respect, you are 100% in error, DEAD WRONG.  Macs used an 1.8 gamma for Mac monochrome monitors, and that has been abandoned for decades.
The following remarks are exclusively for the benefit of OTHERS reading this thread in the future.  I have regretfully given up on zeno3333 entirely.

The images I am using are not generated by an obsolete workflow....that is what i have been saying all along. The images i make are made in programs other than Photoshop...they are from Bryce like i have mentioned, and from POVRay.The programs make images the way that the programs make them....when i print out that image unaltered in any way, they are too dark on a Windows Printer.....
Zeno3333 unfortunately fails to grasp that Bryce—and any other program he uses while running his improperly calibrated monitor— produce the dark images BECAUSE OF his workflow, which starts out on the wrong foot with a monitor calibrated to gamma 1.8.
It's NOT the fault of the other programs, alas, it's Zeno3333's fault exclusively.

There absolutely no one and nothing else to blame.  It is Zeno3333's workflow at fault, beginning with his improperly calibrated monitor.  Period.

WRONG AGAIN!  It is Zeno3333 who refuses to understand the basic concepts of color management.
Computers, PCs or Macs, have no "gamma".  Color spaces do.  And color monitors are calibrated to a given gamma.
The 1.8 gamma for Macs has been abandoned for a very, very long time.  What's more, some Windows users used to calibrate their monitors to gamma 1.8 in the distant past.  That is ancient history now, but it was by no means a Mac exclusive practice.

  • How to Remotely View a Mac from a Windows XP/7 computer

I would like to know how to, without any cost, view my Mac from a Windows XP/7 computer.
I do have Apple Remote Desktop; however, if I stand correctly, but it can only be used from Mac to Mac. So that would not be of any help. Thank you in advance.

I've used an app called "RealVNC" for windows, you can Google it to find the download. Theres a free version that works just fine.
On the Mac end you have to go into System Preferences > Sharing > Remote Access (not in front of my mac, could be wrong on the "Remote Access" name)
Turn on Remote Access and theres a checkmark in there to allow you to set a password for VNC access.
    That should be it.

  • How can I control a mac mini connected to a benchmark dac 2 for the purpose of listening to 24/192 audio files?

How can I control a mac mini connected by USB to a Benchmark DAC 2 for the purpose of listening to 24/192 music downloads?

    Hello,
About the dac 1, but may apply to the dac 2 as well in some ways...
    Here are more details:
    1) The current version of iTunes (7.5) for OSX is very broken. Some older versions work properly, but 7.5 introduces truncation and DSP artifacts that can measure as high as –80dBFS. These levels are easily audible. There is no system configuration that will permit transparent playback from 44.1kHz sources with iTunes 7.5. Curiously, the only format that works properly in 7.5 is 24-bit/96kHz. This iTunes problem has nothing to do with USB communications, as the results are the same when using the built-in optical port on our PowerBooks. As a workaround, we suggest using the free VLC for Mac player. VLC works perfectly with all formats (provided OSX is set to match the sample rate of the files being played). We highly recommend the VLC player for OSX users, and strongly advise against using iTunes. We will attempt to identify which versions of iTunes work and which ones don't. But beware, iTunes updates itself without user intervention. One of our test computers "upgraded" itself to the dysfunctional iTunes 7.5.
    2) OSX still does not have the ability to follow sample-rate changes. We consider this a nuisance for most users and a show-stopper for users who want to play a mixed list of 44.1kHz and 96kHz material. An OSX sample-rate mismatch will invoke the very-poor-quality sample-rate conversion that is built into OSX. The iTunes 7.5 bug seems to be locking on this sample-rate conversion at all sample rates other than 96kHz. Until this is fixed, OSX is not the operating system of choice for audio playback.

  • Second Monitor: How to enable it on Mac Mini?

hey guys, my current setup is 1 screen connected via HDMI and the other i want to make use of can be connected via DVI (also supports VGA.) i ordered a mini-dvi to dvi-adapter port and it'll be arriving in a couple hours.
anyway, to do a trial run, i tried using the DVI monitor by using the Apple supplied HDMI to DVI adapter, but when i plugged the monitor in it just said "no signal" and nothing happened. i also have a VGA(for old monitor) to DVI(for newer graphics) adapter i bought some time ago, but never got the chance to use it. could it work if i connected the mini-dvi adapter to the VGA adapter and then finally plug in the DVI adapter? i hope i'm explaining this clearly. would this work if there were three adapters plugged into together?
    thanks

    That is good news?
Also in the Displays Preferences, if you check the box "Show displays in the menu bar"
it will give you quick menu bar access to your Display Preferences.

  • How to open document from mac when using windows without transferring the file?

How can i open a document from mac when i am using windows without transferring it?

depend on the document program more then anything else really
when ever I open a doc with word it make a history for undo and redo action file in the same dir
with bootcamp you only have read not write access to the osx partition so it would fail to be able to create that file
but if you can get word or whatever program you use to open the file not to place a temp file in the same dir
or use a program which did not make any type of temp file or used a program where the temp file would be located elsewhere where you decide it would work file
