How to enable users to personalize their pages?

Dear all,
Are there any tools or built-in functions which I can make uses of so that users can personalize their pages?
It seems very attractive if I can provide this value-added features to users.

It seems that everyone is trying to help but lacks some vital information such as:
1) Is your web page on the Internet or on a local area network?
2) If it is on the internet, can you provide a link so we can take a look and see what might have gone wrong?
3) If not, how did you get your web page up so that other people can access it.
Essentially, the xls file that you're referring to shoud be in the same location as the html file if it is on the internet but this is not mandatory since you can create a link that lets the user download anything from anywhere on the internet -- as long as the file is there somewhere.
If you're on a local area network, the fact that the xls file is on the same computer doesn't mean that it's downloadable. For example, if you use MicroSoft Personal Web Server, your html file is avaible to other people on the network only if you have it copied over to the designated sub-directory of Inetpub and the xls file has to be copied there as well.
So......to make a long story short, give us more info!

The AirPort Extreme does not have the features necessary to create a "splash page" that provides basic information about the company and asks users for their identity and password....like you see at most hotels.
Basically, with an AirPort Extreme, users would have to scan to look for the name of the wireless network to join, and then enter the password to connect.
The best that you might be able to achieve with the AirPort Extreme is create a "hidden" network, which would require that users know both the name of the wireless network and password to connect. However, based on experience, this might be more of a hassle than anything else.
The bottom line.....Apple really designed the AirPort routers for home use, so that might be the best place for them in most cases.

I hope u had gone to the screen fields which u want them not to be editable. So there u select all the fields contents which u do not want to to be changed and check the boxes with W.content and Display and save it. Once evrything is done u have to activate the particular transcation going in to the standard variants and put the name and click the activate button.

As per I understand your requirement,
In your Dashboard create a Presentation variable which receives the value of year you select.
Now in your analysis, select the year column along with all the measures you want (Actual, plan, Forecast, and what-if, etc).
Create a filter on Year column and convert it into SQL. Put the condition as:
"Year" BETWEEN @{Presentaion_Variable} - 1 AND @{Presentation_Variable}
You will get the result for selected year and the previous year.

How will i diable or restrict this such that no users can change their passwords after first time creation.

i could do this by logging in as sysadmin, personalizing that particular page (preferences) and setting it for only site and org. it is effected for all the users

Hi Experts!!
I am in the process of enabling the dff in OAF page. I am not able to enable the dff if am using the Custom table.
Ex:
Assume that my DFF XX_DFF is using the custom table XX_TABLE of att1,att2..
I am able to enable the dff in OAF page but not able to make those values entered to get stored in the custom table.
I need helping hands to help me out to get the entered dff values stored in my custom table.
Kindly provide me the steps so that I can follow up..

HCM Performance Review - How to clear user setting 'personalizations'

Experts,
We have disabled the ability for a user to select User Settings in the Performance Review by setting the following parameter :
WDDISABLEUSERPERSONALIZATION in HRHAP_MAIN_DOCUMENT Parameters
This successfully removed User Settings (right click, User Settings) as an option for our employees when displaying their performance review. We had an issue with users Hiding comments sections so the user setting option was removed.
Since the setting has been removed, the user cannot "Discard" the personalization settings they have made.
In the past, we have cleared user's personalization settings in the MSS Portal via System Admin - Support - Portal Content Directory - Personalization cleanup, but this does not seem to clear the setttings made in the Web Dynpro application.
Do any of you have suggestions ? Thansks much for your insight !

Any list or search will always query the database regardless of volume. For example, a user has access to just 1 account record. This record could be one of 10 million other account records. To allow the user to see this record, the entire account pool will be queried. That's where indexes help and queries are really fast.
Turning off search is not the solution. Ensuring queries are optimized is the solution. For example, manager visibility always slows down the search because the nature of a manager visibility search requires compex search patterns. So you could turn off manager visibility for your company and use alternate means like books. Manager visibility search is a feature that's primarily used by small-to-medium-business (SMBs). I am working on a public page where the data pull from
database base on different UUID. Where this page doesn't required
login account. It differential by UUID where it send via email.
What I affaird in the email that contain UUID that might
forward to multiple users for filling in a long forms with same
UUID.
(This form it could be share same department but different
sections).
How can I lock this page or only allow accessing by a user
until been submitted?

I have tested my suggestion. It works.
I can see where your code is leading to. However, it does not
follow the line I suggested on 08/08/2007. Its logic is essentially
different from mine. In my code, the condition for displaying the
form is in a lock. In your code, the form is displayed
unconditionally.

Hi,
what is best practice for redirecting a user when he opens a specific page.
I have a solution with a custom master page and several webparts. When a user opens my solution (every page based on the same master).
What i need to do now is, when the user opens the page i have to check before rendering the page and the webparts some criteria. When the user is not allowed to open the page i need to redirect him to another location.
How could q redirect a user in a sharepoint solution?
I thought about some ways:
- develop a webpart (without any rendering) and put in onprerender event the check and the redirect
- create a codebehind for the masterpage
- create an httpmodule
What would you prefer? How could i solve it?

How to save user input data in pages into database ?

Dear Friends,
Hello. I am developing my first PeopleSoft application using PeopleTools 8.49 and SQL Sever 2005. In application designer, I have created fields, records, records' underlying tables in database, and pages. After users type in data into fields in a page, we need to click "submit" button in the page and save the data into Database. How to submit data into database ?
If we use JBuilder or Netbean instead of PeopleTools, we simply develope a server side script file like sth.jsp and link it to the "submit" button. The server side script file save data into Database. But in PeopleSoft application designer, I don't understand how to submit data in a page into database.
Can any friends help to solve this question ? Thanks.

Data will be saved in the database once you click on the 'Save' button on the page or if you use one of the 'Save' functions in PeopleCode (like DoSave(), DoSaveNow()). Generally, there is no need to write a script explicitly. Please refer to PeopleSoft Internet Architechture and PeopleCode peoplebooks (and other PeopleTools peoplebooks as well) for more reference.
You may want to attend PeopleTools training if you are fresh to PeopleSoft development.

I have enabled the windows server 2012 remote desktop users through "control panel -> systems and security -> Remote access" for the users. When I try to connect to the windows server as administrator, it is getting connected.
But when I try to connect as other users I get the following message.
"To sign in remotely, you need the right to sign in through Remote Desktop Services. By default members of the Administrators group have this right. If the group you're in does not have the right, or if the right has been removed from the Administrators
group, you need to be granted the right manually."
Is there any other setting to be done to eanble the Remote Desktop for the users.

Have you tried adding those users to the "Remote Desktop Users" group? It's in Active Directory Users and Computers and it's a Built-In group. Might want to give that a try ...

We have a project in motion to update these versions to the latest and greatest. Unfortunately my predecessor has no logged information on the licenses given out to each installation.

If the installations were registered, then Adobe may be able to help. However, as far as I know there is no way to get the number from the current installation. This has been asked many times before and that is the answer I have seen.
