How to enable ussage rights on New LiveCycle Designer

Hi there!
I used the older version of LiveCycle to create some forms. Now I have updated them and cannot find the feature that enables me to grant ussage rights so that users can fill the forms and save them with the data they have inputed on the forms.
Do I need Adobe Acrobat Pro?

Hi,
The option is not in LC Designer. Extending the form is done via Acrobat.
If you have a version of Acrobat earlier than v9, then you will need the Pro edition of that earlier version.
If you have Acrobat v9, then the ability of Reader Extending is available in the Standard edition.
The option is under the Advanced menu.

Designer doesn't have a debugger like Acrobat.
The script editor can check only if the syntax is correct.
You generally can use the PDF-Preview to debug JavaScripts when Acrobat is your current PDF-Viewer.
Add this code in you script where you want to start debugging. It will call Acrobat's JS Console

console.show();

I guess you can't. The ojc compiler is not part of jdev 11g, javac is the tool of choice.

If I understand correcly, you have created a GL within a new instance and also have some sub ledgers enabled (i.e. Payables, etc). What I am not clear on is whether you have created the AP responsibilities or not. If you have, you will need to associate the sub ledger responsibilities with the relevant GL Ledger. With each responsibility that you create, you will need to set the 'GL Ledger Name' profile option within SysAdmin. This will automatically set the profile option of 'GL Ledger ID' with a value. This value is a ledger ID which is unique (called set of books ID in 11i)
If using Oracle Subledgers whose menus contain General Ledger windows that require data access set information, you must assign the appropriate ledger to this profile
option for each subledger application or responsibility. This profile option controls the ledger that each subledger will use for transaction processing. The ledger assigned to the GL Ledger Name profile option will automatically be assigned to the GL: Data Access Set profile option. You can change the default assignment made to the GL: Data Access Set profile option if you want to access more ledgers in General Ledger. However, any changes made to the GL Ledger Name profile option will automatically be applied to the GL: Data Access Set profile option. You cannot view this profile option at the user level. Your System Administrator can set this profile option at the site, application or responsibility level.
Should your question be related to actually configuring the sub ledger modules you will need to follow all related setup steps for each application assuming you have these licenced.

How do enable document rights so i can put in a text box on pdf document?

I have a scanned document which has been saved as pdf.
I need to add a text box where I will write a name. Afterwards, I would like to print it out.
But,when I clicked on the "text box tool" and "pencil eraser tool" under tools, there is a message that states "*Only available when document rights is enabled". See below.

It sounds as though you have the PDF open in Reader, which doesn't have the same editing capabilities that Acrobat has. Did you use Acrobat to create the PDF from the scanned document or did you receive the PDF from somebody else? If you have Acrobat, please make sure that you're opening the PDF in Acrobat if you want to edit it.
If you don't have Acrobat, feel free to download a 30-day trial from http://www.adobe.com/products/acrobat.html. Then, you can open the PDF in Acrobat, make the changes that you want using the editing tools, and print the updated PDF.

Syntax checking is available in designer from version 8.1 onwards.
If you want to enable in Adobe Reader then go to Edit --> Preferences --> JavaScript --> Enable the option Show console on Errors on messages.
Apart from it the alternative way to debug the scripts is to use xfa.host.messageBox and check the values.

How to split a column in adobe livecycle design?

How does one split a column in adobe livecycle design. I have found that one can split a column after you have merged it. But I want to split two columns into four in the middle of a table. This can be done in Word. Is there a way even if one has to split each row? Does any one know? Like in the table below I would like to make Header 2 & Header 3, Rows 2 and 3 into 2 rows 4 columns.

If you want to have 1 column to be split in 4 columns, you can insert a table with 4 columns inside a column cell.. If you mean to add rows and you want to keep those 4 columns, you should add instances of the row where you inserted the table with 4 columns...

How to enable ssl2.0 on newer versions of firefox, I can't find it in about:config anymore

In the older version I was able to enable it by typing in the URL about:config and then enable ssl2.0 and with newer versions of firefox I can't find the setting anymore. I need ssl2.0 to comunicate with novell boardermanager internet filter server.

[SOLVED] how to enable ssh access to new user

I have created a new user on arch with "useradd newuser", but the "newuser" is not able to login wit ssh.
I have checked the /etc/passwd, which has this line:
newuser:x:1005:100:newuser,22,111222,111222:/home/newuser:/bin/bash
I restarted ssh and even rebooted machine, checked the folder /home/newuser exists, but I still can't login with newuser. On the other hand I can successfully login with "olduser" which is also a normal user (not root) and member of same group (users)...
What am I missing? What is the procedure for creating a new user that can login with ssh?

Be sure to read the license agreement. It has restrictions on the use of Reader Rights. The restrictions depend on your planned use.

LiveCycle Designer 8/ Acrobat Pro 8-form data

Not skilled in using the LiveCycle Designer included in Acrobat Pro 8, I have been struggling for a couple of weeks, trying to format a sample form and export data to a .csv file to read in Excel or notepad, once saved in .pdf and completed. I have the basics, but can't accomplish the more advanced. So far, I have used LiveCycle Deisgner to create a one page table form, with a header, 20 columns and 16 rows. The header cells are all text boxes labeling the columns below them. The rows have mostly text input cells/boxes, a few drop- down list boxes.
I can complete, in .pdf, a couple of sample lines with made-up names, other data as a test. It will save, the using manage form data>merge data files into a spreadsheet, I can create a .csv and view it in Excel.
Here's where the difficulty begins. I need the .csv to display every cell/box, even if blank, and in the correct row. The form data will be used by a genetics program's import module to import data and needs to be either a .txt or .csv tab, comma or other symbol (for example, @) delimited file, where blanks are represented by one extra delimiter (as a spacer) for each blank. The .csv data display is anything but that. The header runs across the first .csv row with names like :"form1[0].ID1[0]" while the only other row showing is all of the sample data from the .pdf's 2 completed sample data lines, all in one row, with some blank cells/boxes shown, and some not shown.
Since eventually, once the form is "up and running," it can collect 50+ rows, I was hoping not to have to manually edit the .csv to get it into the acceptable format for the other program's import module.
I am at a loss about how to set up the form in LiveCycle Designer so that the header row doesn't export to the .csv (I am unable to find the data binding controls for these text/header boxes to set them to "none."), the blank cells/boxes all register, rather than only some, and the row 1 data goes on the .csv's row 1 and the row 2 data to the .csv's row 2, etc., rather than an endlessly long single row.
I've already searched forum's, plus the help files for LiveCycle Designer and Acrobat, with no success.
Any ideas, solutions or places where I can check further would be greatly appreciated.

Hi,
With LC Designer you can develop a form which has data connections to databases and/or web services.
The issues to consider are: what version of Acrobat will the user have; and if the user only has the Reader then how are you Reader Extending the form.
User has the fulll version of Acrobat:
user can open form;
fill it in;
print it;
data connections to databases and web services will work;
user can save the form.
User has the Reader (form not Reader Enabled)
user can open form;
fill it in;
print it;
data connections to databases and web services will NOT work;
user CANNOT save the form.
User has the Reader (form Reader Enabled using the full version of Acrobat before deployment. See licence restrictions)
user can open form;
fill it in;
print it;
data connections to databases and web services will NOT work;
user can save the form.
User has the Reader (form Reader Enabled using the full LC Enterprise Suite)
user can open form;
fill it in;
print it;
data connections to databases and web services will work;
user can save the form.
