  • Galaxy S4 doesnt ring or vibrate when my boyfriend calls but does if anyone else calls me

My phone will not ring or vibrate when my boyfriend calls me but will when anyone else calls me. it used to ring when he called but then all of a sudden stopped. i have not changed any settings or even the ringtone for my boyfriends calls, so i dont understand what the issue is. all of my settings for volume, ringtone, vibration, etc are turned on.

That is pretty strange, bro0klynbridge. But you've come to the right place for answers. Checking the contact settings to make sure you don't have the calls set to go to voicemail for his contact as Ann154 mentioned is a good start. When you select his name in your contact list, press menu and look for the "All calls to voicemail" box. Your phone will still show a missed call but the call will almost immediately go into your voicemail if the box is checked. Also, try to edit his contact listing and select a different ringtone to ensure his line isn't set to the silent option or possibly a ringtone that's been removed from your phone.

Objects are designed to be used in an HTML document. Snippets are designed more for Code View.
The only reasonable way I can think to get around this limitation is to create a temporary HTML document with either a <script> or <style> block, insert the desired Object, then copy the result to the desired .js or .css file.
What exactly are you trying to do? Maybe some details could remind me of some other way to do what you want.

  • Any way to stop phone from vibrating when on a call?

    It happens all the time.
I'm on a call, thoroughly enjoying life, in a state of total and utter relaxation.
    Then: BZZTZTZTZZTZZTZZZZZTTZZ!!!!
Right in my ear, the iPhone completely shatters my calm. All because I got a text or an e-mail.
I appreciate the notification, and I have my iPhone set to vibrate for texts and e-mails because when the phone's in my pocket the vibration definitely helps to notify me, but maybe the tone/chyme is enough when I'm on a call.
And by maybe, I mean definitely. There is no good reason I can think of why I'd want this sneak attach vibration terrorizing the side of my skull. It's simply unpleasant and often times unnerving.
Does anyone know if there's anything that can be done about it? I've searched, but have come up with nothing apart from completely disabling the vibrate option, or remembering to always switch the phone to silent (with vibrate off for silent in the settings) every time I take or make a call, which is awfully inconvenient and still results in occasionally forgetting, relaxing and then being punished.
    Maybe there's a setting I'm missing somewhere?
    Thanks for taking the time.
    Darcy

It seems there is no solution to this apart from the workarounds I've listed, so I've filed a feature request with Apple, pasted below.
If anyone feels the same as I do, please consider filing a similar request. You can do so here: http://www.apple.com/feedback/iphone.html
    Thanks,
    Darcy
"I find the vibrate feature very convenient for times when I am not on a call and I want to be notified of an incoming call, text, e-mail, etc. But when I am using my phone, pressed to my face on a call, I would very much appreciate it if the phone were smart enough, by way of the proximity sensor, to disable the vibrate feature.
As it stands, when I am on a call and I receive a text, for example, the phone vibrates in my ear and against my face in a very jarring fashion. It's not only uncomfortable, it's unnerving.
Currently my two options for avoiding this seem to be to disable the vibrate feature all together, or to remember to toggle the silent switch when making or receiving a call (and then remember to toggle it again when finished). Inconvenient and/or easy to forget.
I can see no reason why anyone would like to have their phone vibrate against the side of their head unexpectedly like this. Please consider allowing the proximity sensor to tell the vibrate feature to turn off when on a call."

  • How to enable source routing on outgoing packets?

    Hi all
Perhaps some of you can help me with this. I recently read http://enclaveforensics.com/Blog/files/ … 8d9-5.html about loose source routing, and would like to do the experiment myself in an isolated network dedicated for testing purposes.
I know how to filter source routed traffic with firewalls (ip-tables), but have no idea of how to enable either loose or strict source routing in the ip-headers for those packets i'm sending out. Maybe there are some kind of setting in some configuration-file? Or are we talking the source code of an application? Kernel compilation setting? Please let me know, if you know how to do it.
And also please notice this: I've got no malicious intentions. I will only perform this in an isolated network dedicated for testing purposes. So please do not accuse me for beeing a cracker/hacker/whatever...
    Thankyou

the best way to actually enable it system-wide is to use mangle table of iptables to manually enable the ipv4 options and adding the routing info with each packet, on the other hand, you can create a program with python's scapy that does LSRR and SSRR.

  • How to enable MSDOS program to be called from Oracle PL/SQL procedure ( Web Service )?

    Hello,
Dealing with the time demanding procedure where power user is interactively execute sequence
    of steps of procedure:
    1. pl/sql procedure for preparing data in some table
    2. java program that read data from the table and creating input txt file for MSDOS program
    3. MSDOS program is autonomous component that reads input txt file and make
        output txtfile.
MSDOS program is closed component, can not be modified
    4. java program that insert txtfile into Oracle table.
    5. Steps 1 to 4 are executed in interations driven with select on some table.
Trying to prepare re-design the procedure  and not sure about which technologies to use ?
The goal is that whole procedure would be implemented in pl/sql procedure and this way could be executed
so as from power user from command line as from controlled application on any type of the client.
So if that MSDOS program would be transformed as Web Service offered on  some MSWin server in the intranet.
Then PL/SQL procedure would communicate ( call this web service ) and do all the job and at the end
send status of completion and report through e-mail to the issuer of the procedure?
Not sure what technologies should I use on Oracle RDBMS server on Linux to communicate with MSWin Web service which is running MSDOS program ?

Yes it can be done. Simply consult the applicable manuals that contains all of the details on how to do it. The manuals are:
    - Oracle® Database Application Developer's Guide - Large Objects (refer to Chapter 6 section on Using PL/SQL (DBMS_LOB Package) to Work with LOBs)
    - Oracle® Database PL/SQL Packages and Types Reference (refer to the chapter on DBMS_LOB)

  • HT201401 when some call me my phone don't sound just vibrate when some one call

    **** me please

It's VERY unlikely, but you may have some videos on your iPod, and your library is making them out to be songs, but your iPod seperates them.
If that isn't it, then those songs might be corrupted. If that isn't the case, then I'm not sure what to tell you. Have you tried updating iTunes, or restoring your iPod?

  • Hi, I have a macbook pro and when using FaceTime outgoing calls it says connecting but it never connects, however, I can receive incoming calls. Does anyone have any suggestions please?

    Hi,
I have a macbook pro and when making outgoing calls on facetime I get to connecting but it never does connect, however I can receive incoming calls. Any suggestions please?

    Hey there kakitiga,
It sounds like you are trying to make a call with FaceTime, it never finishes connecting to the person you are trying to reach. I want to recommend the troubleshooting steps from this article named:
    FaceTime for Mac: Troubleshooting FaceTime
    http://support.apple.com/kb/ts4185
If you encounter issues making or receiving FaceTime calls, try the following:
Verify that FaceTime is enabled in FaceTime > Preferences. If the issue persists, or if you see the message "Waiting for Activation", try toggling FaceTime off and then on.
Verify that the Date, Time, and Time Zone are set correctly:
From the Apple () menu, choose System Preferences > Date & Time > Date & Time.
    Enable "Set Automatically".
Click the Time Zone tab and confirm the closest city is correct.
Verify that both parties are connected to an active broadband Internet connection.
See Mac OS X: Troubleshooting a cable modem, DSL, or LAN Internet connection.
Consult Using FaceTime behind a firewall for necessary ports to open in firewalls, security software and routers.
If you encounter issues using a Wi-Fi network, use standard Wi-Fi network troubleshooting to resolve interference and other issues.
Verify the phone number or email address being used is the correct one activated for FaceTime. You can verify that you are using a valid Apple ID at appleid.apple.com. You can also create an Apple ID or reset your password from this website.
Verify that both parties have installed the latest software updates for their Mac and/or device. See:
Mac OS X: Updating your software
iOS: How to update your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch
Thank you for using Apple Support Communities.
    All the best,
    Sterling

In above code how to capture 'EV_RC' when FM is called as background task.

    Prakash,
CALL FUNCTION IN BACKGROUND TASK allows no IMPORTING parameters, so that your code will produce a syntax error.
The calling program can only handle errors of remote function calls (RFC) if these are either
    - synchronous RFC  (that is CALL FUNCTION ... DESTINATION ...) or
    - asynchronous RFC (that is CALL FUNCTION STARTING NEW TASK ... DESTINATION ...).
Both synchronous and asynchronous RFC allow the capturing of errors by means of exceptions. But that is a different topic.
