How to encode 10 bit ProRes

How do you encode ProRes with 10 bits per channel in Adobe Media Encoder?  In the video settings for all the ProRes 422 flavors, it gives the choice of either 24 or 48 bits.  ProRes does not support 48 bit depth, so is that a bug?  According to Apple's white paper, ProRes 422 supports 8 and 10 bits per channel.
When I do test encodes of ProRes 422 HQ with both 24 and 48 bit depths, the outputs are identical.  It seems that the 48 bit option should be removed, and a 30 bit option added.
When using ProRes 444, the options are equally confusing.  it gives options for 24, 32, 48, and 64.  ProRes 444 supports maximum 12 bits per channel, and 16 bits for the alpha channel, so both "48 bit" and "64 bit" are misnomers.  Could someone from Adobe please explain what is actually happening when you use these options?  I'm guesing the 64 bit setting encodes 12 bits per channel plus 16 bits for the alpha, but I don't know.

I could be misunderstanding something, but I've been reading Apple's whitepaper to make sure of the details.
"48 bit" is unclear, because it could mean 12x4 or 16x3.  Both combinations are impossible with ProRes 422.

  • How to Install 64-bit "Generic / Text Only" print driver on a 32-bit Windows 2003 Server?

    Hi All,
    In a nutshell, I need to Install the 64-bit Generic / Text Only print driver on a 32-bit Windows 2003 Server’s “Generic / Text Only 32-bit print queue.
    The problem is that there is no Driver-Disk to get the drivers. I’ve been able to isolate 14 files related to the 64 bit drivers from a Windows 7 x64 computer and copy them to a temp folder on the Windows 2003 x32 server. When I try to add the 64 bit driver
    to the Windows 2003 x32 server,  it wants a *.inf file, which I don’t have and can’t find.
    Because Microsoft will no longer support Windows XP, my client is replacing all of their Point-of-Sale Windows XP x32 systems with Windows 7 x64. They use Terminal Services (Remote Desktop) to connect to a Windows 2003 x32 server to use the POS system. The
    POS software redirects LPT1 back to the local Generic / Text Only printer. This works great for XP x32.
    When we use the Terminal Services POS software on the new Windows 7 x64 system, none of the labels print out because it’s redirected in 32-bit back to the local Windows 7 x64 Generic / Text Only 64-bit printer.
    This will be a huge issue for me if I can’t get this to work.
    Thanks in advance for any suggestions and help! -Rob

    Sooooo, I think I need to set the OH and PATH back to the 64-bit as that is what the Listener requires but any ideas how to get the 32-bit sqlplus to also work?!?Please remove OH from env system settings.
    Multiple homes on Windows is often a source of problems, since extra consideration and setup is needed more than just installing the software.
    If "Cognos" relies on system PATH, then one way to go might be:
    - put path to 32-bit Client bin folder first in PATH
    - set up a shortcut to command window with only 64-bit in PATH, for times when you need to administer the database via command line.

  • How to define a Bit Mask in Lab Windows.

    Hello,
    I'd like to know how to define a bit mask for a control box in LabWindows/CVI.
    If there's more information that I need to be aware of, please let me know.
    Thank you,

    Thanks fsitja.
    I presume that SQL*LOADER does not handle timezones directly like it does DATE.
    So instead of this:
    APPEND INTO TABLE ImpTable
    DATETIME DATE 'DD/MON/YYYY:HH24:MI:SS TZHTZM' TERMINATED BY ' ' ENCLOSED BY '[' and ']'
    I would use an expression like this?
    APPEND INTO TABLE ImpTable
    DATETIME "TO_TIMESTAMP_TZ(dt, 'DD/Mon/YYYY HH:MI:SS TZHTZM', 'NLS_DATE_LANGUAGE=ENGLISH')" TERMINATED BY ' ' ENCLOSED BY '[' and ']'
    And I would convert the table column from a DATE field into a TIMESTAMP field.
    Would this slow me down during a DirectPath Load?

  • How to encode a fileHandler to output french characters ?

    Hi everyone,
    I'm trying to encode a fileHandler to create a file that contains french special characters (è, é, . . . .).
    I tried the following code:
    fileHandler.setEncoding("ISO-8859-1");

    fileHandler.setEncoding("UTF-8");

    Can anyone advice how to encode the fileHandler to have french characters in the output file ?

    Thanks for the suggestion. I like this approach as Java is more familiar to me than other languages.
    Our DBA is out of touch today, so I could not grant the javauserpriv to my database user. I tried to run the script anyway in the chance that my user had the privs, and it seemed to have hung. I am now combing Oracle's site for more documentation so I can write some tests to see if I can get a basic Java object working. Under what heading would I find this?

  • How can I write bits through the COM1 serial port?

    I'm trying to write bits through the serial port COM1.
    Labview "Write VI" only writes everything in string. It seems. How can I write bit by bit through COM1?
    Thank you,
    Van

    Serial transmission (COM port) protocol requires sending a group of bits at one time. You cannot just send one bit. Standard COM port settings must be either 7 or 8 data bits, 1 or 2 stop bits, etc... You have to group your bits 7 or 8 at a time. You could probably send a 0 byte or a 1 byte. This would be like sending 0000 0000 for a low bit and 0000 0001 for a high bit. Your receiving end would have to know how to interpret what you are sending if you choose this method. Of course you have to convert your byte into a string before sending to COM port. Wire a U8 data type to a Build Array input. Then wire the array output to a Byte Array to String input. The output of this function will be the character representation of your byte suitable for sending acr
    oss a serial port.

  • How to scale 32-bit signed integer data to floating-point voltage when acquring data in DAQmx by PXI4472?

    I acquired data in DAQmx by PXI4472. For the high speed data logger, I used "DAQmx Read" to read unscaled 32-bit signed integer data.
    Now, my question is how to scale 32-bit signed integer data to floating-point voltage?
    I think that it's (20/(2**24))*I32 because the voltage range of PXI4472 is -10 to +10 and its resolution is 24 bits. But I cann't get correct voltage by that formula.

    While you could hard code the scaling factor, it will be more flexible if you retrieve the scaling coefficients from the driver. To do this, you need to use the Analog Input>>General Properties>>Advanced>>Device Scaling Coefficients>>Device Scaling Coefficients properties under the DAQmx Channel Property Node. Look at the documentation for this property to see how it can be used to create a polynomial equation for scaling to volts.
    Since you are creating a data logging solution, you may want to consider using a compressed data stream from the driver instead of the I32 data type. This will allow you to read the data back as a stream of u8's instead. Since the PXI-4472 is 24 bits, you will only have to write 3 bytes to disk for each sample instead of 4. You can check out the following examples for how to create an application using this compressed data stream. It also shows how to use the scaling coefficients to transform the unscaled data back to voltage values.

  • How to encode request url

    String szUsrName="venkat & ashique";

    Request URL:=> Customer.jsp?cust_name=venkat & ashique
    --I think from ashique it is taking as another req parameter.
    but in Customer.jsp the request parameter value comming as '''venkat''' iwant to get whole String venkat & ashique. What is the problem i know.Problem is in the string '&' symbol is there.But the solution i dont know plz can u help me. How to encode that url</a>

    You need to escape non-alphanumeric characters with %XX where XX is the hexadecimal value for that character. For example:
    "venkat & ashique" => "venkat%20%26%20ashique"%20 is space and %26 is the &.

    Hi 侠客
    The Series2 error/arb capture register indicates where the last error happened. In this case, the bit stuffing rules (not more then five consecutive bits of the same state) where violated. Typical causes are:
    Baudrate mismatch (most likely no commmunication at all possible)
    Improper termination (please see chapter 4 of the NI-CAN Hardware and Software Manual for more information)
    Wirering schema not compliant with the CAN specification (ISO 11898), e.g. stub/drop length too long, star-type setup instead of a chained setup
