How to enhance mp3s for burning onto disc

I have some real old mp3s I want to burn to disc but I have to keep running back and forth changing the volume is there a program that can at least get them all playing the same volume?
thanks

Note that the recommendation to use Sound Check would only work for audio CDs, and not MP3 CDs. From your original post it's not clear which disc format you're using.

  • How to setup iDVD for burning pre-downloaded movie, spacewise, quality, etc

I downloaded (legally) old TV shows onto my Mac, then wanted to burn them to a blank DVD for viewing thru my regular DVD player. I opened iDVD, dragging and dropping .avi files onto its start up window. Everything worked fine, iDVD automatically processed/encoded the 350 MB files, with the resulting DVDs playing the shows fine on my consumer DVD. Two questions:
    1. Even though the files were only 350 MB, iDVD would not let me burn more than one file at a time onto a blank 4.7 Gb disc. Even after expanding the file during processing, the resulting new burn project was only 1.86 Gb. With 4.7 on a blank disc, why would iDVD not let me drop at least one more file for inclusion?
    2. iDVD did everything automatically; there were no pop ups asking me about how I wanted it encoded on the disc, as an avi file or consumer-readable DVD, and no indicator of how big it would expand after processing or how much space it would take up. Is that normal, or shouldn't I be given choices, including write-speed/quality/compression/file size choices that might have affected how many 1-hour episodes could fit on a blank DVD?
Thanks for any clarity on this.

.avi is just a container, as .mov is in the Mac world... (for your interest: look in the right column, what can be inside a .mov here)
so, you're lucky, that inside that container was something, iDVD can handle, because all iApps use "dv" as codec for video (as on miniDVtapes, what iM is intended to be)
dv is a codec, which has 13Gb per hour
a dvd has mp2 as codec, which fits up to two hours on a 4.4GB dvd-r
    (iDVD does the conversion..)
all iApps are not "all purpose" apps; the iLife suite is mainly for your music, web (since iLife6) and your homebrewn videos (miniDV/tape/DVD)..
if you want more options/choices, you need other tools & apps (=> $$$$); the iLife suite is for simplicity & convenience - miniDVtape, audioCD, edit, create, burn - boom!done... this is, from my p.o.v., the main difference between PC and Mac apps: PC apps overwhelm (=let him alone) with zillions of options, Mac stands for simplicity (=what PC users read as "prescribtion")
    concerning file sizes:
the process of converting & generating mpegs is very tricky/elaborated.. even costly pro tools can just estimate the final project's size, because file size depends e.g. of content, amount fo movement, richness of detail, etc

  • How to get photos in order for burning to disc !

Hi, I am new to LR 3 , after downloading photo's from 3 CF cards from a wedding then editing I put chosen
best shots into a smart collection and all seemed in order numbers wise etc, when I burnt to a disc they are now not in order of the days event, how can I make sure they are of the following : -
1  - All the same size photo's ready to be printed or put in an album.
2 - How can I make sure the order in which I see them in the library smart collection is burnt in the
same order onto a disc, as I have burnt from library and they are all out of order of the wedding event
when looked at on the disc !!
Any help would be appreciated ,thanks westyboy1

You indicated that the images "seemed" to be in the right order.  It might be a good idea to rename the images on export using a custom name/sequence.  If you have done that and the images are still not in order, it's possible that your operating system browsing window is using a different sort order.  I sometimes change windows explorer to sort by file type, and then files are sometimes in what seems be a strange order.

  • Converting mp4 to mp3 for burning to CD

I can only burn an Mp3 CD if the songs are already in an Mp3 format. The problem is that my play list is all in Mp4 format. How can I convert my whole play list to Mp3's so I can make a CD? If this is possible please give step by step instructions if you can....
    Thank you.

If you want to make an mp3 CD (to put a lot of songs on one CD, as opposed to a 'regular' CD), then you have to convert your AAC files to mp3 format first, then burn as mp3 CD.
To convert your AAC files, if they are not protected you can simply change your import preferences to mp3 and then right-click on one or more songs and select "Convert to mp3...". The downside is that iTunes will create duplicates (the original AAC and mp3), and you'll lose some fidelity in transcoding like this.
If your AAC files are protected, then we're not allowed to help you get around the DRM on these boards.

  • Hi, i have a lot of problems, artwork muddled and losing tracks, cannot download latest version of itunes, unable to burn onto disc. Can anyone help, i am not great with these things!!

Hi lots going wrong with my music library, artwork is muddled up and also losing tracks because of this, also unable to download latest version of itunes and finally i cannot burn my music to disc. i have an external hard drive and a fairly large library, around 30,000 on it. Any suggestions!!

Log in to the Developer forum. You will find instructions on how to install the lastest beta. Your problem is the beta you have installed has expired. All of them did on October 5; you will find hundreds of threads discussing this. If you have a beta it is assumed that you will continue as a beta tester, so a simple update using iTunes will not work.
If you no longer want to be a beta tester install the GM 7.0.2 by restoring from iTunes using DFU mode.

  • How to wipe macbook for resale without disc

I have a late 2009 macbook Pro and I can't seem to find the disc.  I recently purchased a new Macbook so I need to know how I can wipe the old one for resale without the disc?  Or how I can get a disc to do it?

Call 1-800-676-2775.  Pay a shipping/handling fee to get replacement disks.  Technically you need to give the original disks, which have all main and "secondary" softeare, plus a hardware test.
Or you can buy an SL disk for $19 that has OSX but no secondary programs like iDVD.

  • How do I fit my iMovie onto iDVD

I am trying to make a DVD. I set up the DVD ready to import my iMovie. I realized my movie is 27.8 GB because of all the clips! I compressed the movie to quick time (.mov) and it says 981.2 MB on disk. I then try putting this onto the iDVD, but it says it's still too big! And with it compressed this small form it's original size, it looks terrible. How do professional movies get burned onto a DVD and have it great quality? How can I make my movie still look good, but fit onto a 4.7 GB blank DVD+R, just like people burn real movies onto these exact same blank DVDs, but they look good?

While in iMovie HD, use the send to iDVD button. Customize the iDVD project. Keep the iMovie HD project under 2 hours unless you have anew Mac that can burn DL DVDs.
Use Verbatim DVD-R for best results.

  • Just not getting render for burning to DVD

Using Premiere elemtns 12.  I have video in MP4 that I am burning to DVD.  Does rendering affeect the MP4?  Rendering seems to create a new MP2? file that I am not understanding if the MP2 rendered file is used for burning to disc.  Not worried about burn time want the best looking video.  Thanks

Looks like it is OK, but to be sure on the fine points....
    a. There is nothing in your video properties given that tell me whether the .mp4 is 4:3 or 16:9.
Your screenshot indicates that you are setting the project preset for 4:3 with your choice of
NTSC/Hard Disk, Flash Memory Camcorder - description showing the Pixel Aspect Ratio = 0.9091.
Do to double check, import the .mp4, right click its thumbnail in Project Assets, select Properties, and
read what the Pixel Aspect Ratio is. If the Pixel Aspect Ration = 0.9091. Good.
    b. Now the only other thing that could trip you up is whether or not your video is interlaced and has a
Scan Order (also called Field Order) = Lower Field First (also called Bottom Field First) or Upper Field First
    (also called Top Field First).
A video properties readout program such as MediaInfo (Tree View) would give you that information.
    http://sourceforge.net/projects/mediainfo/
Just watch out for carryalongs with the download - can mess up your browser(s).
If your .mp4 has a Field Order of Top Field First, then you are OK with your project preset
    NTSC
    Hard Disk, Flash Memory Camcorder
Standard (or whatever you confirm between Standard and Widescreen)
If your .mp4 has a Field Order of Bottom Field First, then you should use the project preset
    NTSC
DV Standard (or DV whatever you confirm between Standard and Widescreen).
(This has a Field Order of Bottom Field First.)
The whole thought is that the DVD-VIDEO format that you are heading for represents interlaced
video with a Field Order of Bottom Field First, and you want the project preset to be in keeping with
    that characteristic.
So if you are starting with video with Top Field First, the Hard Drive Flash Memory choice is supposed
to be taking care of this Top to Bottom Field First matter.
    ATR
Add On...I stayed with the Top Field First and Bottom Field First (MediaInfo readout designations) throughout the post to be consistent with MediaInfo. But within Premiere Elements, you will be seeing the Upper Field First or Lower Field First counterpart descriptions.

On an older Mac I got this message while trying to burn a CD for the car: "The attempt to burn a disc failed.  The burn failed because of a medium write error."  What does this mean?  And how do I work around it?

I had been getting this all morning and checked other messages from the community. THe one which worked was trying a different brand of disc.
I had been using Verbatim which had copied the music fine off the Real Player on my PC at school, but wouldn't work with I Tunes. Tried a Staples and an Office Depot CD-R , both of which did the job.

  • How can I add new content in iDVD to a DVD-RW disc which has ample remaining free space? After preparing the new video for burning and clicking on Burn to iDVD, I get a window saying the disc's already recorded and that I can either Erase or Eject.

How can I add new content in iDVD to a DVD-RW disc with a video previously successfully recorded on it? (The disc has ample remaining free space.)
After preparing the new video for burning and clicking in the File menu on Burn to iDVD, I get a window saying the disc's already recorded and that I can either Erase or Eject. My assumption has been that iDVD would automatically find the free space and continue with the new recording from there. I'd be grateful if anyone can shine light on this.

There are, but not with a DVD written as a movie disk. It must be closed when completed, or it doesn't work.
Apple's built in Burn utility also automatically closes any data CD, DVD or Blu-ray disk you burn. Doesn't matter how much space is unused, you can't use it. You'd have to use a more advanced disk creation app, such as Toast Titanium. I then have the option of choosing to write the data as a session:
I can keep doing this until the disk is full. If I've written five sessions to the disk, when I put it in the drive, five CD/DVD icons will appear on the desktop since the OS will treat each session as if they are separate physical disks. At any point you choose Write Disk when writing a group of data, that means you're closing the disk, and again can't add anything after that. So if I had written two sessions, and the third was Write Disk, it's over. I can't put anything else on that disk.
