How to enter special charcterstics like alpha, gama, beta in text in sap

Dear friends
One of my client insisting to to have special characters values like alpha, beta, gama etc need to be entered in material short text  and some other places. I know how to get those special letters through MS word, But how to get the same in SAP.
Plz povide solution.

Hello
One silmple solution is to write the description in MS word or Excel, and use "Set in->Symbols" functionality to in order to have characters like  u03BC u03B2 etc. And then cut and paste the letters into the description in SAP.

  • After Effects 7 for Windows - How to enter special characters

    How can I enter special characters in a text layer? Like ampersand, french double quotes etc.
    Using an Alt-Numpad combination doesn't work, neither does typing the text in an editor and trying to copy and paste it to AE.
    Best regards,
    Christian Kirchhoff

    Make sure your operating settings match AE's language. Also pick such characters from a font that supports the correct Unicode range (the default system fonts for instance). If that still fails, restart your system and/ or AE. This may take several attempts and is annoying, but these issues have no clear pattern to them, so it's hard to make out the exact cause.

  • How to enter Special Characters in JSP

    Is there any way to enter special characters such as ºC ? i am using J2EE and Oracle 9 i.
    When i try to enter 2ºC after updating the datbase it is converted to 2ºC. All special characters are prefixed with Â. Pls suggest some better way ..

    This normally relates to your unicode set you are using. For example the database is using a different way of storing data than how it's being parsed.
    One quick/dirty fix is to save the data using HTML encoded elements, for example ©
    You will also find that £ £ will cause problems. If your web app is only for one country then I would not worry about it however if you need multi language support then you need to read up a little

  • How to show Special Characters like (∠) in an Embedded text field

    I want to show some special characters like (∠). It is working fine if we don't embed the text field. But I want to use superscript and subscript font, so I have to embed that dynamic text field. When I embedd the texfield it does not show me the (∠) symbol. Instead it shows me a square symbol. Please let me know how can I solve this problem. My project is nearly finish except for this part.
    Thanks in advance
    Salim

    Yes, I know we need to include the symbols. But  I am unable to include it. Whenever I click on embed option and paste the symbol (∠) in the include these characters box, it appears as a square symbol. This is driving me nuts.
    I even tried to embed All (54665 glyphs). But this is not working either.
    Has anyone faced this problem before?

    I'm not sure.
    Perhaps UNISTR() or TO_NCHAR() will be helpful.
    select level, unistr(concat('\', TO_CHAR(Level, 'FM000X'))) from dual connect by level < 300;

  • How to convert special characters like #, &, etc occuring in the input stri

    Hi,
    I am using method 'Get' to submit a form . When ever there is any
    special character like '#' in my input For example "033#Test", nothing
    gets posted beyond 033.
    Can any one please let me know how do I overcome this problem.

    Regards,

    Before you send the form parameters you need to url-encode them. Like this:String param1="param=033#Test";
    String encodedParam1 = java.net.URLEncoder.encode(param1);Then send the encoded version, which if you examine it you will see looks like "033%25Test".

    Moinuddin:
              It seems possible your browser may be confused by the fact that 033 is
              the octal representation for an ESCape character (Hex 1B). Try dropping
              the leading zero. In addition, it is usually better to represent special
              characters like the hash mark "#" using HTML character entities instead
              of literals, i.e. &#35; = hash mark

  • How does one enter special characters, in particular french accents into text in PS Elements?

    I'm trying to produce some artwork in Photoshop Elements with some French text in it, so I need to know how to input special characters for the letters with accents. Anyone got any ideas - I've tried looking for a glyph menu but that doesn't seem to exist on Elements.

    Which operating system are you using and version of photoshop elements?
    Photoshop elements doesn't have a Glyphs panel or menu.
    Here's a way:

  • How to add special characters like üöä to a rss feed?

    Hello,
    I've (again) a small problem. In my podcast I use the header
    <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>
    <rss version="2.0"
        xmlns:content="http://purl.org/rss/1.0/modules/content/"
        xmlns:wfw="http://wellformedweb.org/CommentAPI/"
        xmlns:dc="http://purl.org/dc/elements/1.1/"
        xmlns:atom="http://www.w3.org/2005/Atom"
        xmlns:sy="http://purl.org/rss/1.0/modules/syndication/"
        xmlns:slash="http://purl.org/rss/1.0/modules/slash/"
        xmlns:itunes="http://www.itunes.com/dtds/podcast-1.0.dtd"
        xmlns:media="http://search.yahoo.com/mrss/"
    >
    and encoding UFT-8. Every time I add special characters like the German Ö Ä or Ü to my feed, the feed stops working. The validator says that characters like üöä are no UTF-8 characters which is correct of course, but a second podcast which I listen to, uses the same header like I do but it contains the same special characters and it works. Does anyone know what the difference is?
    This is my podcast feed which does not work with üöä
    http://quartett.planeteternia.org/rssfeed.xml
    That's a podcast feed (not mine) which works with üöä
    http://technikwuerze.de/feed/
    Thank you very much
    Kind regards

    http://quartett.planeteternia.org/newsfeed.xml - there is no file at this address. You have a feed at
    http://quartett.planeteternia.org/rssfeed.xml
    but there are no diacriticals in it - presumably you've removed them.
    The other feed simply includes the diacriticals - it's not using html encoding to display them - so I don't know why you should be having trouble. You need to be writing the text in a plain text editor, not a word processor, and I don't know whether there is an issue with Windows here.
    You could try using the codes - they must be the numbered not the named codes:
    ü is &#252;
    ö is &#246;
    ä is &#228;

  • How to insert special character like trademark and registered mark.

    I have tried using prepared statment, but characters like (registered mark) are not inserted properly, in fact i tried using some debug statements before inserting. the data that is coming from html form fields it self shows that - such characters are converted to ? . So on consol instead of i see ?. How do I make sure that data passing from html form will pass in a right manner and not ?. Also how do i insert these symbols in database

    What database are you using, and what is the character set use for storage in that database?
    What character set is your HTML page using?
    You may have a character set mismatch somewhere. The registered symbol is character 174 in Unicode and LATIN-1, so it cannot be displayed using just the ASCII character set.
    If you have the character in a java String, it should be passed to the database properly with a PreparedStatement. Strings are Unicode in java.

  • How to use special font in an applet so that text can viewed in any browser

    I have created an applet in which I use text with special font I have installed in my PC. The applet is correctely executed with associated html file in my PC. I try to execute the files in another PC in witch the font is not installed. Text with the special font is not correctely viewed.
    can you help me how to do?
    thanks

    Both java.awt.Component and java.awt.Graphics have a method setFont(). You can set whatever font you want. However, if the user does not have that particular Font installed, whether the font is auto-installed for the user is browser and browser-setting dependent.

    The Text to Speech function with the shortcut [option+esc] has helped me  a lot. But, the only problem is that when there is a hyphen in the paragraph selected it doesn't even start reading the paragraph.
    This problem occurs when reading pdf files from the chrome using TTS.

    I thought that perhaps that I might be able to do something like make the iPod screen have a white text on black mode (like in the Mac OS X accessability mode), would this be possible?
    Can anyone else think of anything when using an iPod to help vision impaired people to use an iPod?

  • How to insert special character from Oracle form builder 10g

    Dear all,
    I need help. how to insert special character like 'Superscript or Subscript ' from oracle form builder 10g. I had try in Oracle form builder 6i with press ALT+ASCII code in the text item and it work, but in the oracle form builder 10g this method doesn't work... would you like to help me...somebody please...
    Best Regard,
    Dedy P.T.

    What do you mean by insert ... from Forms Builder? Do you mean you want to add it as text in a string of pl/sql code or as part of boiler plate text (label) or a value on the Property Palette?
    For special characters you would need set NLS_LANG to something that would support the characters you want to use. For the Builder to see the change, you would need to set NLS_LANG to something like:
    NLS_LANG=AMERICAN_AMERICA.UTF8
    This can be done in the Windows Registry or system. As I mentioned, this will only apply to the Builder and will have nothing to do with a running form. For running forms you would need to set this in default.env. As for things like super and sub scripts, these are font formats and not necessarily characters. For the most part, I don't believe these are supported in Forms.

  • Entering special characters for Social Beat on G'Zone Ravine?

    I've figured out how to enter special characters in a text, or in mobile IM. But I am unable to find a method for doing so in Social Beat. My username and password both use special characters, but I cannot find the option to enter these.

    Thank you for your inquiry and I apologize for any confusion. I am providing you steps for how to change your symbols to special characters when your at the long in screen when using the Social Beat application. I was able to locate this information from the online user manuel and here is a link for further reference. I hope these steps as listed below helps.
    To using Symbol Text Input to insert symbols or punctuation, follow these steps from the text entry screen:
    1. Press the Left Soft Key, select Symbols, then press the Center Select Key [OK].
    2. Press the Right Soft Key [Next] to view the next 12 symbols or Left Soft Key [Prev] to view the previous 12 symbols.
    3. Select the symbol you want to insert using the Directional Key, then press the Center Select Key [OK] to select it.

  • A drag and drop game with dynamic text response

    Hi,
    I am a teacher and my school has recently upgraded to Adobe Design Premium.  Our previous version was about 5 versions out of date.
    I teach A Level which requires students to create an Interactice Multimedia product.
    In the previous 6 years, I have taught students how to create simple drag and drop game with dynamic text responses.
    Since the upgrade to Actionscript 3.0 the dynamic text response has ceased working.
    When creating the game from scratch, I need to move to Actionscript 2.0 as 3.0 does not allow me to add actionscript to objects - I know and am sure that this is a better way of doing things, but I would prefer to keep working the way I am used to.
    I use a switch case statement which I have copied below to make the drag and drop work.  The objects I apply the code to work in that they can be dragged, however, my dynamic text box with a variable name of "answer" is no longer displaying the response when an answer is left on a dropzone (rectangle converted to a symbol and given an instance name).
    on(press) {
    startdrag(this);
    on(release) {
    stopdrag();
    switch(this._droptarget) {
      case "/dropzoneB":
       _root.answer="Well done";
       break;
      case "/dropzoneA":
      case "/dropzoneC":
       _root.answer="Hopeless";
       break;
      default:
       _root.answer="";
       break;
    Any help would be much apeciated.
    Thanks
    Adrian

    To drag in as3
    blie_btn is the instance of the object drawin on the stage. In AS3 you have to assign a even listener, in this case MOUSE_DOWN, and MOUSE_UP, as we want the drag to stop if the mouse is not clicked. Then we fire the functions, and tell the object to start drag.
    // Register mouse event functions
    blue_btn.addEventListener(MouseEvent.MOUSE_DOWN, mouseDownHandler);
    blue_btn.addEventListener(MouseEvent.MOUSE_UP, mouseUpHandler);
    red_btn.addEventListener(MouseEvent.MOUSE_DOWN, mouseDownHandler);
    red_btn.addEventListener(MouseEvent.MOUSE_UP, mouseUpHandler);
    // Define a mouse down handler (user is dragging)
    function mouseDownHandler(evt:MouseEvent):void {
         var object = evt.target;
         // we should limit dragging to the area inside the canvas
         object.startDrag();
    function mouseUpHandler(evt:MouseEvent):void {
         var obj = evt.target;
              obj.stopDrag();
    if you want to make the text do what you want then something like this might work.
    In the function, you could add a text box onto the stage, give it a instance of something like outputText
    and then:
    outputText = ("Bla Bla Bla");
    (^Not sure if this will work exactly^)
