How To: Enter the system BIOS at Startup in Windows 8.1

I will have a new (to me) Satellite S55-B5258 with preinstalled Windows 8.1.
I would like to change the boot order so that I can use my bootable USB stick.
I want to make a system image before anything gets installed. (Macrium Reflect)
For possible "panic restore" when all else fails.
I have read several methods using F2 and/or the ESC key.
Which is the real method?

Maybe an original image is not really needed if there is a Recovery option once the sysatem is up and running??

You can do that without going in the BIOS(UEFI). At the Start screen, type System Settings and hit Enter. There is a Boot Options tab there where you can make your boot choice. However, for when you do need to get in the BIOS in Windows 8.x, Shutdown the computer while holding down the Shift key. Then, on Startup, hold down or rapidly tap F2 while hitting the Power button.
Yes, you do have a Recovery partition on your HDD and you were advised to make recovery media when first using your machine for even further protection in the future. It's up to you whether you wish to make even further images. I do and I use Macrium also.
You need to spend some time with your User's Guide particularly starting on page 46 "Recovery of The Internal Storage Drive".

I've installed Oracle Database 10g XE on my windows xp desktop.When ever my machine is getting starting oracle xe is taking a lot of time for startup.
I would like to disable the oracle xe from my startup , i can start up or stop the db anytime later using the links in start menu.
Can any one let me know how to disable oracle xe from startup.If it was any other normal programs i would have done that from the msconfig program->Startup.
Any suggesstions/solutions would be very helpful.

How to enter the new UEFI( BIOS ), if UEFI does not respond to F10(esc, e.t.c.) at startup?

1) I bought a HP 255 .. preloaded with licensed windows 8.1 (overpaying about $ 150 compared with the same nout. with pre-dos ,
2)yesterday update the "BIOS" -UEFI- from HP website and on the recommendation and with the help of an assistant "Assistant HP",
3)reload (successfully re-entered the windows 8.1), and
4) wanted to put second OS (ubuntu Linux without removing the windows 8.1, which is totally legal action and a 100% user right !) in accordance with the instructions http://www.everydaylinuxuser.com/2014/05/install-ubuntu-1404-alongside-windows.html. (way before such procedures have been much easier! Have to completely abandon the windows!)
5)After compression partition with win8.1 and release empty partition for second OS( Linux), off in the control panel windows "Fast Boot" I turned off the laptop (which is turned off and not in sleep mode switched). entered the UEFI, Turn off secure boot and Legacy Boot (probably in vain!)
After saving and rebooting the laptop completely refused to accept from the moment of "power On" the F10 (et al. Keys esc, F2..12), and showed only "black screen" without any symbols and inscriptions, though, and respond to Ctrl-Alt-Del (blinking backlight -reload). external monitor also showed "No Signal".
If I understand correctly, UEFI has been "upgraded" (not for the better by m.), And then at boot became a special check windows loader (type bootx64.efi) th right?

Email addresses into what?
Each user should have their own account and password to log in. Each is independent of the other. So for Mail each has their own Mail account if they set one up in Mail.
That's the way it should be set up. Are you using a single account and allowing multiple users to use that one single account? If so then in Mail at least you could set up individual mail accounts. But everything else in the system is shared.

At first you have to perform an complete shutdown.

The point is that Win 8 does not shut down the notebook but the unit performs hybrid shutdown to boot faster. So unit needs to be shut down in order to access the BIOS.
Start notebook again and press F12 to enter boot menu. Thee you can find option for BIOS settings. You can also try with F2 at start up.

I have installed Oracle 11g , and the SCOTT,SYS,SYSTEM account are locked ( I guess) as i am UNABLE TO ENTER THE DATABASE.
When I open SQL+ , a cmd prompt will appear requesting username ( for which I tried SYS,SYSTEM,SCOTT) upon pressing enter, it request's password ,HERE IS THE PROBLEM .What every i try to enter in the password field, doesn’t get displayed there ,I thick its not accepting anything at all.
I tried sys as sysdba as the username ,didn't work either(insufficent privilages)(windows info: OS-XP sp2, account- administrator),as I am new to SQL Kindly ,SUGGEST ME , HOW TO ENTER THE DATABASE.

How to retrieve the system used in an iview?

hello,
i'm currently having trouble retrieving the proper attribute of an iview to retrieve the system used by it.
it seem like the strings identifying the system in the iview differ in some iviews.
using either:
myIView.getAttribute(IAttriView.PORTAL_SYSTEM)
or
myContext.getAttributes("").get("System").get().toString()
produce errors.
while get("System") sometimes provides the correct system alias the attribute is none existant for other iviews where the string would be "Systemalias".
IAttriView.PORTAL_SYSTEM doesn't seem to work at all.
i did implement fail safe code if the attribute isn't present, however i don't know how to retrieve the system attribute without doing a case switch or something similar for all the different strings, which i would prefer not to do.
also, is there an easy way to retrieve all iviews which use a specific system without parsing the whole pcd and checking the attributes?

Hi, is the problem just to update your apps on your iPad? Here is what you should check. Is the iTunes on your computer updated to the latest version? Does your iPad needs to be updated? Do you have enough storage on your iPad to do the update? On your device is your iCloud back up checked?
Go to Settings - iCloud - Backup/Storage - see if its checked, and try unchecking it before connecting it to the computer.
