How to Enter Today's Date?

Hello,
In Excel, "ctrl-;" enters the current date. Is there such a command in Numbers? I haven't found it yet. . .

Michael,
you don't need to enter a character. Just double-click in a cell and then choose "Insert/Date & Time".
Well, actually you click once to select a cell and then click once to edit the content (according to Help/Keyboard Shortcuts).
To add a keyboard shortcut:
Open System Preferences / Keyboard & Mouse
Choose Keyboard Shortcuts tab
Scroll down to Application Keyboard shortcuts
Choose Add (the plus symbol)
In the drop-down box at Application, scroll down and choose Other…
Navigate to the iWork '08 folder and choose Number
In the Menu Title: field enter "Date & Time" (without ")
Add you desired Keyboard Shortcut
Restart Numbers and check the Insert menu for your shortcut
Now, just double-click a cell (or use option-Return on a marked cell) and apply your shortcut.

There surely should be a fast, convenient way to enter today's date in a Numbers spread. Haven't found one or reference to such and Numbers Help is no help on this one. Command-hyphen which does exactly that in FileMaker Pro, another Apple product, doesn't work in Numbers.
Right now I'm copying another date to the clipboard, selecting the target field, paste, then revise — a very tedious process.

How to enter a new Date and Time each day in a Numbers Spreadsheet...

Hi... I have finally decided to move away from Excel and really give Numbers a shot... I have an application where each day I first enter the current date and time into a particular cell of a new row and then I enter some data in cells adjacent (in the same row) as that entered date-time. Then the next day I want to again enter the (new) current date and time and add more data next to that new date-time and so forth day after day... You can't use something as simple as =NOW() because then everyday, ALL of the date-times would change to the current time... Nope, now what I want... I just want to be able to EASILY and QUICKLY enter the current date-time value in one call and then have that specific value stay there forever... In Excel, this is accomplished with the keyboard shortcuts of
<cntl> followed by a semicolon (;) for the date
then enter a single space (for separation of date versus time) followed last by
<command> followed again by a semicolon...
So all together that is,
<cntl><;><sp><command><;>
and that puts something like
4/10/2010 9:49:00 AM
in a single cell...
That's what I now want to be able to do in Numbers...
How do I do that??? Do I use the menubar item "Insert Date and Time" and if so, how exactly do I get the current time to show up in the chosen cell??? With formatting??? Is there a keyboard shortcut method like the one I mentioned that works for Excel?? I've perused the manual and though I found lots on date-time, I didn't see how to do specifically what I want to do... I likely just missed it as surely it must be easy to do...

You may create a Before Report trigger or a Before Parameter Form trigger and put in like...

In month view, how can I make today's date appear at the top of the page? When it is late in the month, I don't need to see a month of past events--I need to see what is coming up.

im having great problems in entering Urdu Language data in Oracle 9i rel.2 database on win2000 ad. server having my client PCs on windows xp,, then front end of our application being in developing process,,in .net framework,,using vb.net,,now windows xp is supporting urdu and data in urdu language is entered properly from the front end application but oracle is not supporting it,, and not displaying right translated characters,,my country is Pakistan,,laguage is Urdu,,the character set of my database is we8mswin1252 and national character set is al16utf16,,
plz help me wriggle out the situation.

I am not completely certain what Oracle character sets support Urdu, but I can say that Windows-1252 certainly does not. You probably want to use UTF-8 as the database character set.
Unfortunately, changing the database character set generally requires rebuilding the database. You cannot use the ALTER DATABASE command here, since UTF-8 is not a strict binary superset of Windows-1252.

How to enter Text or Date Value?

Hi, I am using Planning 9.3.1 and tried to enter text or date value into account
which is defined as text or date, but I can only type numeric value into the cell.
Is there anyone who knows the reason why I can't type in text or date?

You need to set the Evaluation Order to make this work. Once you tell Planning which dimension has priority (Account) the date format should work in a form. This is accessible through the Administration->Dimensions menu pick in the rightmost tab.
Without that evaluation priority, the data just displays as a number.
Once set, you must enter data in a format that mirrors your system locale or Planning application default/user preference. You will not be able to enter a whole number.

Yes it is possible to maintain emission data - manually.
Navigate to Emission Management --- Select the facility object for which you want to assign emissions --- select Emission Tab page and -
Create emission Information. Ensure before entering manual emission data, assign Consumption Maerials - Otherwise you can not maintain data.
To create materials navigate to Master Data Management and select materials

my problem is as follows--
i am creating a CMP entity bean.in these beans client create the data instances using create() function.
now a entity bean will be created for the newly created data and it's EJBObject will also be formed.
now we will be able to perform finder methods over them.
remember these data has been newly created in the database.
but now if i want to perform the finder methods on the
existing data in the database( i don't need to use create() fn as i am not "creating" the data.). how will i perform the query over the existing data.
basically i have to make a CMP bean to extract the data corresponding to a particular condition , from the database table. i don't want to create the data in the database but just find out what data satisfies my condition.

All I say here is based on limited knowledge on 1.1 ejb specification. There could be improvements on 2.0 spec. 1.1 specification does not formaly provide how the finders should work for container managed beans. It leaves it at the hand of bean providers. Currently bean providers describes the finers in a description of the Entity Bean. Refer to documentation accompanied with application server you are using.

Per my understanding, you might want to set a default value to the Query String Filter Web Part.
It would not be able to set default value to the Query String Filter Web Part with the OOTB features available.
By default, with a Query String Filter Web Part in the current page, we can filter other web part in the same page by adding parameters and values in the address bar
of browser.
If setting the “Query String Parameter Name” of a Query String Filter Web Part as “t”, then we can filter the corresponding connected web part by inputting such an

How do I get iTunes songs off the iCloud back onto my computer, preferably without changing the purchase date to today's date?

Trying to download previously purchased iTunes songs that are firmly embedded in the iCloud. At one point these songs were all on my computer. Then I idiotically joined iCloud. All the songs were sucked off and into iCloud. iCloud couldn't provide more than twenty seconds of any song without freezing whatever device, Macbook Pro, iPhone 4s, ipods, or breaking up the playback into fits and starts and finally silence, ever, no matter if the connection was cable or wireless.
I have ever update on every device, I have the max. RAM, excess disk/flash space. The problem is the difficulty of downloading. Oddly the download to my ancient PC went almost without a hitch, it is with Apple devices that the trouble lies.
About 2/3 of the songs have successfully downloaded to my computer. However the purchase date, which I used frequently as a search/sort function, have on many of the songs been switched to today's date, or the date of the latest download instead of my original purchase date.
Many songs downloaded, many remain in the cloud with the 'cloud' icon beside them.
Clicking on the "download all" icon doesn't download them all.
They begin to download and then stop/freeze.
I'm reduced to manually scrolling to each song and clicking on the 'cloud' to download, this works sometimes and sometimes it doesn't. The whole thing usually crashes after a while.
This is where I am now, at the iTunes store on the "Purchased" page with all my songs in a list with "downloaded" or a "cloud icon" in the far right column, frozen once again.
I really would like to maintain the original purchased date(the day when I purchased the song from iTunes) but I'm to the point where I'd just be happy to get them downloaded onto the Macbook Pro, and hopefully never deal with the cloud again for the rest of my life.
Lastly, if anyone can recommend an alternative music site to iTunes it would be welcome.

I copied the iTunes file from the external drive and it's in both places. I thought all I would need is the iTunes program (which I downloaded to new computer) and my iTunes library file. There must be something else that's missing. My iTunes library looks the same on the new computer as it does when I open it on the external drive. If I click on an iTunes library song from my new computer, it will only play if I have the external drive plugged in.
My back-up drive is a mess. I have multiple copies of music, video, photo, and document files and I don't know how that happened. ={ Obviously, I don't know how to back up stuff properly and there are back-up files extending over a 6- to 8-year period. I think all I did was just drag and drop the main folders from the back-up drive to the same main folders on the C: drive. Also (and I'm kind of fuzzy on this) Windows used to automatically save music files in a folder within my document files (which makes no sense to me). As my Jewish friends would say, "Oy Vey!"

You cannot delete the account from the server (partly to prevent the username from becoming available again and some-one else using it to pretend to be you).. Having disengaged your devices from it, go to http://icloud.com and delete any data in there such as contacts and calendars. Then just ignore it.
