How to erase email not shown

When I go to my email it shows I have 161 emails to be read. In fact I have no emails.
How do I erase this note that show I have emails when in fact I have none.

This sounds like you may have an additional mail account configured on your device with unread messages. You can check for additional mailbox accounts by selecting Mailboxes in the upper left corner and selecting the account with the 161 unread messages.

Go to the website for the email account.
Delete the emails in question.
Most email accounts will update the other assocaited devices immediately. If yours doesn't, it might be a POP account.

Attachment to received email not shown at all in Mail

I am using Mail and Safari on my Mac Mini with OS 10.8.5 (Mountain Lion). My email provider and ISP is BT/Yahoo!
I received an email that had been written on and sent from an iPad. It was supposed to contain a one-page MS Word (.docx) text file as an attachment. When I opened the email in Mail, there was no attachment, and I was on the point of complaining to the sender that she had failed to attach the file, when I had the idea of looking at the email in my BT/Yahoo! webmail — and the attachment was there.
The only clue I have as to why the attachment did not show up when the email was opened in Mail is that the message in the email was prefaced by the following:

Can this be the attachment in disguise? At any rate I should be very grateful for any explanations and, in particular, for advice about making sure that attachments do appear in Mail in the future.
I should add that I have not experienced this phenomenon before — though the non-appearance of an attachment might not have been noticed if I did not know that it should have been there.

I realize that I should not see headers like that, and none of my other received emails that day had them. The particular email in question had other unwanted characters within its message, suggesting that something gone wrong with its encoding. Here is a small sample (i.e. the '=20'):
Subject: Re: Draft email to Claire re topics /possible agenda items for Wa=

=20
The email was part of a conversation, and earlier parts of it had far more of these intrusive characters, which were not there when those parts of the conversation were first received. Here is a sample:

I did not, in fact, do View / Message / Raw Source when I read the email. I have now gone back to the email and have now tried View / Message / Raw Source to see what the result would be. What happened was that an additional view of the message opened alongside the first one, with an enormous mass of characters which I shall not reproduce here unless I am told that it would be helpful.
But in neither of the views could I find a trace of the attachment. That is what really worries me, in case it happens again unknown to me.

How to Fix Email Not Being Received EZ

I found this out myself after doing all the recommended things.
1. Go to Options and email set up.
2. Cancel your email account. It's OK. You can reactivate it.
3. Go back to Email Set Up and set it up again.
4. DO hard Re-Boot phone to clear everything.
5. Email will be back within 20 minutes.
Simple and fast.

Well did a repair as the link you gave me said, and it recovered some messages, but I still have the html issue. I even tried to repair again and then exited and re-open thunderbird but still many messages are shown all html code.
The strange thing is most of the effected emails are from one company/email address. But if I log into the server to view they show up fine.
Anyways thanks for the help.
Maybe there is something else that can be done to fix the issue.

N900 - Emails not shown correctly

Mails received via a POP3 account configured on my N900 do not show up correctly as paragraphs containing Danish characters (æ, ø and å) are displayed as Japanese. Any suggestions for a fix?

Is it all e-mails from all people? Certain people? Certain e-mail domains? If you look at the same mail message on a pc or via a web browser are the characters bad?
It may be rendering the e-mail correctly. It might be that a mail relay server that the mail is going through does not support that mime type.
Check the mail header for the MIME type

I use Verizon e-mail; my iPad has received and accumulated more than 1,000 messages.
I can delete a few at-a-time by checking each message and pressing "delete". But this is awfully slow when you have hundreds, or more than 1,000 messages, to deal with.
Is there a way to delete them all?

There is an option to delete all messages at once from an account's Trash mailbox but not from any other mailbox.

actually the best would be to indeed change some settings on the forum but if you can't you can swipe to the left on the email, tap More and mark it is an advertisement.

It will not show anywhere; it is simply your account pic so you know you're using that particular account in Mail (if there is more than one).

Yes there is,
When you recieve a mail with an attachement (inline or as a picture) right click (or control click) the attachement and choose "show as symbol" or "show fullsize" (or completely or something like that, I don't work in English version). Mail will take this as a general preference.

First, back up your old iphone manually:
Disable autosync in iTunes, connect your phone to your new computer and right click on it in the device list and choose backup. iTunes will backup your phone without syncing.
Transfer your purchases the same way, choosing "transfer purchases" this time.
When you connect your old phone for the first time, all media content will be erased. But you can restore your settings and app data from your manual backup afterwards.
Don't forget to set up at least one contact and event on your new computer to be able to merge calendars and contacts when you sync the phone for the first time.

The iPhone's Mail client saves all email recipients in a list of previous recipients.
The autofill email address list is pulled from the iPhone's contacts and from the list of previous recipients.
There is no way to access the precious recipients list with the iPhone to remove a previous recipient from the list or add a previous recipient to iPhone contacts that is not already entered - not at the present time anyway.
The only way to purge this list at the present time is by restoring your iPhone with iTunes as a new iPhone or not from your iPhone's backup.

If you have a backup with the note included, you could restore to that backup. Or, are you syncing notes to another application, icloud, an email account?

Is there some way to erase email from the "trash" folder beside having to delete each one singularly. That means to get rid of email you have do each one TWICE. On my I touch there is a button to erase all at once. Not on PALM that I can find.
