How to erase personal data on ipad2 so I can give it to my wife

I need to erase just the personal data but leave it functional. I ordered a new ipad3 & promised my wife she could have my ipad2 when I purchased another one. The photo (most), emails, most apps & ect need to be deleted but leave it just like it was when I first got it.....ready to be set up for personal use.....her's! Let her setup her email, add her photos & so on.....but erase all my crap first.
How do I do this. Most How To directions make it sound simple but wanted to hear what other Apple iPad users have done that works.

You'll need to find that disk, or phone AppleCare and order a replacement, or use a compatible retail disk.
Throw away any files which may contain sensitive data, securely empty the Trash, insert that disk, restart the computer with the C key held down, use the Disk Utility to erase the partition with Mac OS X installed, install a fresh OS onto it, and include the disk with it.

Other is usually around 1 GB...
A ' Large Other ' usually indicates Corrupt Data...
First Try a Restore from Backup...
But... if the Large Other Persists, that is an Indicator of Corrupt Data in the Backup...
Then a Restore as New is the way to go...

I just bought an E71x and I really regret. Because :
1. batter--hard to take it in/out
2. Sync--no contact group function when sync with outlook. I have to group my contact manually
3. Voice command sucks
4. Very hard to hard rese/erase all data after doing the factory configuration
Can anyone tell me how to erase all the data? My steps are as follows:
1. Go to factory configuration
2. Enter lock code 12345
3. After the device restart, calendar/to-do data... are still on the device.

because newer nokia devices have udp- user data preservation feature even if you reset your phone data will remian intact. the only way to truly get rid off your stuff is to use option 3 on this list. understand that you will lose all your data and make sure you ahve a back up of everything you need before doing this. the default code is always 12345. the restore setttings option DOES not remove any data, just restores default settings on your phone.

Make sure you back up your data as you will lose all of it when you perform option 2 or 3 on this list. The default code for all operations listed here is 12345

3. This you perform as a last resort. Nothing else is working.If the phone is not showing any activity, proceed with hard formatting , turn off your phone, hold the following buttons while pressing the power button. (the default code is 12345)
hard reset - hold the following buttons *, 3 (number button) and talk/green key. turn on the phone and do not release those buttons until you see the Nokia boot up screen. once you feel the phone power up you can let go off the power button while still holding all three buttons ( for Nokia 5800XM - use the following buttons to do a hard reset, GREEN/RED/CAMERA keys pressed all at once on power up. this will only work on 5800's that have firmware version 20... and up. )

I want to erase all data before I give my iPhone 5 to repair.
When I go to "Erase all Content and Settings"
it askes me for my 4 digit Passcode.
The problem is, I never set a Passcode to the iPhone.
I did once to my iPad.
I tried 2 different Passcodes I used on other devices, none of them worked... of course!
So how can I erase the data on my iPhone then?

if I will do that, what happens to the backup I wanted to bring back when I want to restore the phone to its current state? It might overwrite an empty backup over the original one?

Try putting it in a bag of rice with the bag open and in a warm area for a few days (I used the top of a lamp shade for my old PDA - worked well). It might come back on after drying out.
You could also microwave it but that would reduce its Ebay value just slightly!

Hi all,
I have to take my MacBook Pro to the repair shop to get a speaker replaced.
When I filled out the paperwork for the repair, the tech asked me to write down my login password.
My computer has two accounts set up: my main user account (with my home folder) as well as a test account which I created when trying to resolve other issues.
I'm a little concerned about providing the password to my personal account, with so much sensitive data, i.e. logins and passwords, stored in my browser plus all of my personal files.
What is the best way to protect my data in a case like this? Can I change my admin password, and provide the password to the test account only? Or does the tech need access to an admin account (my personal user account) for this type of repair?

If you create an Admin account for them to use, it should be fine, but I'd check with them. I don't see a reason they would need access to your personal account; they just need an admin account to be able to check things out.
Logging in with another Admin account will not give them access to your files, unless they use the terminal. They won't be able to see your passwords in Keychain, though.
They could also just use any install disk to change the password if they want to get to your data. Again, they can't get to your passwords as that method does not change the keychain password.
They could also just connect the drive up to another computer and have full access to your data.
You can encrypt your entire home folder using FileVault, but I would back up all of that data before you enable it. They would have to be ok with using another Admin account on the computer for this to work as your login password unlocks FileVault.
Once you lose physical control of your computer, the only way to protect your personal data is to encrypt it.

as usual we're storing employee's personal data in the infotype 0002, but suppose we need to store this information (for instance the name) in two different languages with also two different alphabets (for instance english and russian, chinese, etc.) As far as I know you cannot store data in the infotype depending on the language, and for infotype 0002 there are no subtypes available, so what is the solution provided by SAP if you need to store information in two different languages?

first of all thank you very much for your answer, it's in fact a good idea, but what if I need to store the information both in English and Greek, if I create a new screen for Greek employees (lets say) they are only going to enter the info in greek language, what about the english info?
I don't want to create two registers in infotype 0002, I think it will be a better idea if we had an infotype to store additional info in other languages, take into account that we'll probably need other fields like family members names and so on
