I'm new to PSE 9. Tried to figure it out on my own. Now I'm stuck:
When I save work, a PSE icon replaces the photos in my Windows Photo Gallery, the source location of the pix. How do I avoid that? I want my original photos unedited in Photo Gallery.
When I sign in, I can get to the Organizer, but not the Editor. I click "Edit" on the opening page and PSE disappears. If I open the Organizer and try to switch to Edit, nothing happens.
In frustration, I decided to uninstall PSE and start all over. I got a message that PSE Editor was open and I should close it before continuing. I checked my Task Manager, but it did not show. How do I continue?

1. You must use “Save As” and include in the organizer and version set, otherwise you will be overwriting the original rather than making an edited copy.
2. Try navigating to the Editor Application in the Program Files/Adobe. Double click to launch the Editor directly without the welcome screen.
3. Also check the process tab in Task manager, otherwise close down, re-boot and re-install. Temporarily turn off internet security/anti-virus to avoid possible conflicts, until you get to the product registration stage.

As far I know, what is possible (P), impossible (I) and can be reached from database (DB):
DB - you would have to create query of groups, where such member was (there are Group History Report
and Group Membership Change Report out of the box, so suitable data is in DB)
P - you can specify the Member Resource ID in
Group Membership Change Report
P - OOB - Group Membership Change Report
P/DB - rather searched by query in DB than realizable through OOB Report
& 6. - OOB it would be hard I think - as you would have to join informations about owners, members of some Sets and MPRs - maybe it could be realizable through DB query, but I am not sure about that.

There are presently several alternatives for running Windows on Intel Macs.
1. Install the Apple Boot Camp software. Purchase Windows XP w/Service Pak 2 or Vista. Follow instructions in the Boot Camp documentation on installation of Boot Camp, creating Driver CD, and installing Windows. Boot Camp enables you to boot the computer into OS X or Windows.
2. Parallels Desktop for Mac and Windows XP, Vista Business, or Vista Ultimate. Parallels is software virtualization that enables running Windows concurrently with OS X.
3. VM Fusionand Windows XP, Vista Business, or Vista Ultimate. VM Fusion is software virtualization that enables running Windows concurrently with OS X.
4. CrossOver which enables running many Windows applications without having to install Windows. The Windows applications can run concurrently with OS X.
5. VirtualBox is a new Open Source freeware virtual machine such as VM Fusion and Parallels that was developed by Solaris. It is not yet fully developed for the Mac - some features are not yet implemented - but it does work otherwise.
6. Last is Q. Q is a freeware emulator that is compatible with Intel Macs. It is much slower than the virtualization software, Parallels and VM Fusion.
Note that Parallels and VM Fusion can also run other operating systems such as Linux, Unix, OS/2, Solaris, etc. There are performance differences between dual-boot systems and virtualization. The latter tend to be a little slower (not much) and do not provide the video performance of the dual-boot system.

Boot Camp is only available with Leopard. The Boot Camp Beta that was used with Tiger has expired and is no longer available for use. So contrary to the other poster's comment, Boot Camp isn't truly "free." You must purchase Leopard to get it.
You can upgrade XP to Vista without having to make any changes to the Boot Camp partition. Vista can either perform an upgrade install or erase the Windows volume before installing Vista. You don't need to do anything to change the partition via Boot Camp. However, if you need to enlarge the partition, then the only way that can be done is to first use Boot Camp to remove the partition. Then use Boot Camp to make a new, larger partition. All data from the Windows partition will be lost.

How large of an Ethernet Switch can you add to an Airport Extreme gigabit router?

I have a gigabit Airport Extreme router. I like using the Airport Utility to control my network. I want to convert a large number of wireless connections to wired ethernet devices, about 24. The reason is that I just get too many wireless dropouts, and I need a more reliable network. I am looking for the best way to design this. It seems like adding a gigabit Ethernet switch is the easiset and best way to accomplish this. My questions are:
1. How large of a gigabit switch can you add to the LAN port of an Airport Extreme: 24-port, 48-port?
2. How far down can you cascade switches? In other words, can I connect three 5-port switches (level 1 switches) to the three LAN ports on the Airport Extreme, and then connect more 5-port switches to the level 1 switches?
3. What are the performance implications for either design. Can you achieve gigabit performance with these designs?

I have a network with an Extreme base station, 3 Extreme wired extenders and 1 express wired extender - in the mix are four 24 port gigabit switches and two 8 port gigabit switches - so you can add as much as you want within the limits of the internal IP address range which is controling the number of devices on the network.

This is Apple's security feature, you answer the questions or you stop using the account and buy Mac apps elsewhere. Do a search on Secure Notes in the keychain and answer the questions with nonsense answers and store them in a Secure Note for future reference.

Compilation is a process which turns a program (or part of a program) written in one language into the same program in another language. This can take place both at compile-time and run-time, but always before execution (when the program code is actually run)
A stack is a data structure used during program execution to handle variables with a lifespan limited to that of a method call.

As per the license agreement, if you obtain Lion via the Mac app store, you are granted permission to install on all Snow Leopard Macs that you personally own/control. If you have Lion pre-installed on a new Mac or obtain it via a USB key purchase method (reportedly coming in August), the license only permits use on one Mac.

Have you not been using your phone as designed? Contacts should be living in the cloud (Google, iCloud) or on your computer in an app (Outlook, Address book).
The phone is designed to be a portable way to carry a COPY of your contacts with you.
Synch your contacts to your new phone from the computer app or cloud service you use.
If you haven't been using your phone as designed, then there's nothing to do.
