How to exclude menu though profile options

Hi all,
I have requirment that is to exclude menu from some user using profile options.
Is that is possible ?
and how it is possible?
Kindly help
Regards
Hussain

I think this is not possible. In your case i would create a new custom responsibility attached to the specific users and after that i would make the menu exclusions in the responsibility form that is possible.

  • How to add a new profile option in each responsibility?

    Dear all,
    I would like to add one profile option in some of the responsibilities. . .how can I do that?
    Best Regards,
    Amy

    Amy,
    Your question is best asked in the Oracle EBS General discussion forum. However, to set the value of a profile variable you would use FND_PROFILE.PUT ('ProfileName','Value');
    Hope this helps.

    Thank you for your response. Yes it is shown as one of 2 choices of "Preset" on the print box. I upgraded to a R3000 printer and using PSE9 I cant replicate the vibrant colors (Epson premium paper and ink).

  • How can we set the profile options to increase OPP response Time

    Hi All,
    While running the concurrent program to merge the data template and rtf template we got the following message in the log file.
    Executing request completion options... ------------- 1) PUBLISH ------------- Beginning post-processing of request 9079946 on node G2C-IDEV-02 at 21-SEP-2007 02:04:49. Post-processing of request 9079946 failed at 21-SEP-2007 02:19:53 with the error message: The Output Post-processor is running but has not picked up this request. No further attempts will be made to post-process this request, and the request will be marked with Warning status. Setting the profile option Concurrent: OPP Response Timeout to a higher value may be necessary. --------------------------------------
    Thanks in advance

    Hi ,
    There are 2 new profiles options that can be used to control the timeouts. Depending on the error message, one of the following solutions needs to be implemented.
    Profile Option : Concurrent:OPP Response Timeout
    Internal Name : CONC_PP_RESPONSE_TIMEOUT
    Description : Specifies the amount of time a manager waits for OPP to respond to its request for post processing.
    Profile Option : Concurrent:OPP Process Timeout
    Internal Name : CONC_PP_PROCESS_TIMEOUT
    Description : Specifies the amount of time the manager waits for the OPP to actually process the request.
    Note: The profile options are available as of $FND_TOP/patch/115/sql/AFCPOPRB.pls 115.3 and are included in Patch 4125550 11.5.10 CU2 for ATG Product family.
    Solution A
    Option 1: Increase the value (in seconds) for the profile option 'Concurrent:OPP Response Timeout'.
    Option 2: Increase the number of processes or threads (or both) of the OPP via Oracle Applications Manager (see Note 291792.1 for the detailed instructions)
    Solution B
    Increase the value (in seconds) for the profile option 'Concurrent:OPP Process Timeout'.
    Workaround
    The timeouts can also be altered directly in the package AFCPOPRB.pls :
    -- Default timeout values for waiting on a response to a request (seconds)
    TIMEOUT1 constant number := 120;
    TIMEOUT2 constant number := 300;
    TIMEOUT1 and TIMEOUT2 corresponds to respectively OPP Response Timeout (solution A) and OPP Process Timeout (solution B).
    Cheers

  • How to set "embed icc Profile" option  to export document as JPEG

    Hi All,
    While exporting the document as jpeg, through File->Export, there is an option "Embed ICC Profile" as figure shows.
    How to set it if I am exporting the document through my program in which I rasterize the document and used
    the sAIImage->AsJPEG(raster, jpegDataFilter, params);
    I didn't find any option in AIRasterizeSettings or AIImageOptJPEGParams to set this flag.
    plz anyone suggest me how to do so.
    Thanks,
    Rud.

    thanks for you through out help.
    I use the folowing code which executing properly,but there is no effect on JPEG whether the value of jpegparam.s.jpeg.embedICCProfile is 0 or 1.
    /////Start
    ASOptimizationSettings jpegparam;
    jpegparam.fileFormat = asffJPEG;
    jpegparam.s.jpeg.embedICCProfile = isICCProfileEmbeded;
    ASInt32 optID;
    optID = sAIOptSet->GetUniqueOptimizationSettingsID();
    error = sAIOptSet->SetOptimizationSettings(optID, &jpegparam); // after executing this line error = 0
    /////End
    I guess it would  work when we export document as jpeg through AIActionManagerSuite
    not with  rasterizing the layer's art and then exporting them as JPEG  using AsJPEG().
    thanks

  • How to copy same profile options

    Hi,
    How to copy same profile option from one responsibility to another responsibility.
    Can any one please suggest on this.
    Regards,
    Kishore.

    I think what you mean is "how to copy profile option value from one responsibility to other".
    You can use FNDLOAD to download the profile options values for the profile option.
    The sample syntax for download is
    FNDLOAD apps/apps O Y DOWNLOAD $FND_TOP/patch/115/import/afscprof.lct ORG_ID.ldt PROFILE PROFILE_NAME=”profile option” APPLICATION_SHORT_NAME=”FND”
    It will create an .ldt file.
    You can edit the ldt file and change the responsibility key to the new one. You may want to delete other entries and leave just one entry behind. An example is below
    BEGIN FND_PROFILE_OPTION_VALUES "10003" "SC_US_OPI_DBI_INV_MGMT_M02" "OPI"
    OWNER = "SYSADMIN"
    LAST_UPDATE_DATE = "2012/04/03"
    PROFILE_OPTION_VALUE = "95"
    END FND_PROFILE_OPTION_VALUES
    and then use FNDLOAD to upload the modified ldt file.
    Sample syntax is
    FNDLOAD apps/apps O Y UPLOAD $FND_TOP/patch/115/import/afscprof.lct ORG_ID.ldt
