How to Execute Webdynpro Applications

Hi Gurus,
Iam new to Webdynpro for ABAP . When iam executing Webdynpro Applications iam getting message like Service Connot Reached. Error no 403.
I think my server need some setting, Please solve my problem.

go to start->run.. and type
Ping <server domain name> -t and enter
you can see the server round trip time

Our application requires the process to be performed with UI interaction;
with some instances it should be run as a background job. Either case involves
RFC calls to backend SAP R/3 and it's easy for RFC access with WD
Component. Though it's also possible to use CAF application service for
RFC access; due to some technical constrains, we did not use CAF
framework. Therefore it ends up where we are now ...

The value ctx.lookup("<jdbc_pool>"); depends on your system id.
if your system id is SID the the string has to be jdbc/SAPSIDDB
you can check it via visual admin >> server >> services >> jdbc con.

I had installed SAP in my system.But when I am testing webdynpro application I am getting the belwo error. Please let me knwo what setting I need to do to avoid this error.

In Web Dynpro ABAP it is imperative that a client browser with a fully qualified domain name (FQDN) has access to the AS-ABAP. For this reason the full URL must be assigned to a Web Dynpro ABAP application when it is called. The URL must not be shortened (for instance, no domain specification).

Error while executing WebDynpro Application with Adobe interactive forms.

I have created a webDynpro application which involves an adobe interactive form. When i deploy and run the application, i am able to deploy it on the J2EE engine on the EP server but while executing it, i get the following exception -

How to execute web applications without deploying them?

How can I execute web applications without deploying them (without mentioning them in the server.xml)?
I have an IWS 6.1 SP1 installed with default parameters (JES). I would like that a posix user could execute his own web application without administrator collaboration.
Does it exist some sort of "autodeploy" like in tomcat?
(I know about the invoker mapping in default-web.xml, just I don't realy understand what does it eventuate. I tried to unzip webapps-simple.war in the directory $IWS_SERVER_HOME/webapps/$instance_name/servlet/tmp/
but the http://a.a.tg/servlet/tmp request failed:
javax.servlet.ServletException: WEB2784: Wrapper cannot find servlet class tmp or a class it depends on

How can I solve this? Users should have write permission to the directories in the classpath to put their servlet.class files into? Bad idea...

Do as many of the rest of us do, until this behavior is changed (if ever). Eport your WEb gallery to your Hd and use an FTP client, there are so many, including Drreamweaver's, and Shareware ones, and upload just the relevant files/folders. Some can even check and do this for you.

How to convert WebDynpro Application into Webservoce

HI Experts,
I have one WebDynpro Application which has the functionality of search Using KM Index Management API's.
This performs the search in portal using TREX.
My requirement is to use this functionality in sharepoint portal(Microsoft Product).
From this sharepoint portal they want to use this search application to search in portal.
Now my choice is to convert this WebDynpro application into webservice so that , share point server guys can call webservice to use that search application.
How can I Convert my webdynpro application into webservice?

Is there any example to describe how to immigrate one webdynpro application into Enterprise Portal ?
I need to develop some application in Enterprise Portal. I think I have 2 ways to achieve it.
1. develop the application in webDynpro, then migrate it into EP.
2. develop it directly in EP.
I prefer 1st way, because in this way my maintenance job will becomes easy.

How to execute an application in Solaris using Runtime.getRuntime.exec() ?

I am currently doing a project which requires the execution of Solaris applications through the use of Java Servlet with this Runtime method - Runtime.getRuntime.exec()
This means that if the client PC tries to access the servlet in the server PC, an application is supposed to be executed and launched on the server PC itself. Actually, the servlet part is not an issue as the main problem is the executing of applications in different platforms which is a big headache.
When I tried running this program on a Windows 2000 machine, it works perfectly fine. However, when I tried it on a Solaris machine, nothing happens. And I mean nothing... no errors, no nothing. I really don't know what's wrong.
Here's the code.

it is possible that you are trying to run a program that is going to display a window on an X server, but you have not specified a display. You specifiy a display by setting the DISPLAY environment variable eg.
setenv DISPLAY 10.0.0.1:0
To check that runtime.exec is working you should try to run a program that does not reqire access to an X Server. Try something like
cmd = "sh -c 'ls -l > ~/testlist.lst'";
alternatively try this
cmd = "sh -c 'export DISPLAY=127.0.0.1:0;xterm '"
you will also need to permit access to the X server using the xhost + command

How to use WebDynpro Applications in Guided Procedure?

Hello,
i want to use a WebDynpro application as a part of a guided procedure. Therefor i developed a simple WebDynpro application as described in the NetWeaver Developer Studio Help. The Application consists of only two views. The first view is to enter data, the second displays them. So far so good....
In the next step i wanted to integrate this application as a CallableObject for execution in my guided procedures process. The wizard asks in step 2 for the "Development component" and WebDynpro Application. But where do it get this information? Indifferently what path i enter, it only returns an error the the object is not available on the server.
EDIT: The path to the webdynpro application is something like this: http://host:port/webdynpro/dispatcher/local/WebDynproUITest/UITest

The problem is, that you cant test the WebDynpro as a stand-alone application. What would be the best way to develop a WebDynpro Application for GP?
Is there a way to start with a 'normal' WebDynpro Application and convert this when finished in a "guided procedure ready WebDynpro for CE Application"?
I think i will contact you next week with more questions, for now on its weekend
