How to export diagrams as vector images (.svg, .pdf)

Dear all,
I have a series of models designed with Eclipse Luna (mostly Papyrus 1.0.1) that I would like to include in a document as vectors (for the best printing quality possible).
Exporting these diagrams in Eclipse Luna itself results in the error reported in Bug 459978. This bug has been marked has fixed on Mars (Papyrus 1.1.0), however, diagram export in Mars is totally non functional (whichever the image format), as reported in Bug 473803.
I have also tried exporting these models with Kepler, but that older version of Papyrus fails to recognise the diagrams included.
So the question boils down to: how can I export diagrams as vector images? Is there any alternative software that I could use? Or perhaps can I rely on some other strategy?

In case you may wonder, Bug 473803 prevailed onto Papyrus 1.1.1. It thus remains impossible to export diagrams as images in Eclipse Mars.

Hello. Currently, I am editing bitmap images that are not antialiased, and I made lots of vector shape layers.
And what I want to do is remove antialiasing of all vector layers because if they are antialiased, they can not fit into forementioned non-antialiased bitmap images.
I found an option to display aliasing vector images, I mean "Layer image quality" option in time line panel, and I set it "draft", but if I render my sequence, AE won't allow me to render the draft, aliasing vector image. They are antialiased. AE ignores the draft setting and renders vector layers as best quality, antialiased image.
So I want to ask how to remove antialiasing of vector image completely.

I guess If I set render settings as Draft quality, AE renders all layers including "Best Quality" layers as Draft quality.If so,there is a problem.
If I want to render "A" bitmap layer(this layer has effects like Fast blur, Hue/Saturation) as Best quality and "B" vector layer(No effect) as Draft quality, and If I render A and B layers as Draft quality, it means I can't render "A" layer as Best quality? If so, it will be a problem. I read a manual and it says some effects won't work correctly on Draft quality layers. Is it alright to render them all as Draft quality?

Am looking at exporting the Form view on APEX to be exported to PDF.

In order to get a PDF, you need to generate a Report....in PDF format.
If you are using the APEX Listener, you can initiate the download of the PDF by calling APEX_UTILS.download_print_document() (I normally place this in a Process)
BUT -- You have to create the Report (under Shared Components) and a Template (also under Shared Components).
The white paper in my first post gives you the HOWTO "[Create] Custom PDF Reports with Oracle Application Express and the APEX Listener".
Start by creating a Report (in Shared Components, bottom right) that uses a simple SQL statement like:
Select * from emp where empno = :P15_EMPNO
You may need to hard code the parameter before you hit "Download XML" button.
The XML that you get from clicking "Download XML" satisfies the "Step 1 - Create an XML Data Source" found on Page 11 of the document.
The rest of the instructions is in that whitepaper.

How to get crisp clear vector images into motion2

I am new to this forum and love it.
My question to all you smart people is when I use illustrator for all my logos for companies. How do I get them imported into my motion project. I have heard of different ways, but none have done the trick. I see logos on samples that look clear and like vectors but when I place them they get really blurry. Also when I place the logo as a large image and scale it down, it looks horific.
Any help on this subject would be greatly appreciated. I have pulled enough hair out on this project. Thanks a lot.

After checking my resolution, it is set at FULL, so let me explain my equipment. I am using a brand new G5, a digital output monitor, and OS X 10.4.6.
Do you guys think that I am just expecting too much from Motion, to make the image clear or should it look just as clear as a vector image in Illustrator.
Should I adjust any picture resolutions before importing a high resolution image.
Does anyone have a quick sample of Motion of a logo that they imported in motion and maybe that way I can compare it with mine, or give me the exact directions of how you smart people export and import logos into Motion. Thanks a lot, and I am destine to get my logos clear as I can.

How to replace text with vector image in 3d space

I finally took a look at your Vimeo example and I'd guess that the animation of the text was created with Text Animators and range selectors. As Mylenium said, and as I said
Reveal all of the animated properties that you want to transfer to your new layer. Usually pressing the U key will suffice.
Note: Text animations and shape animators will be ignored unless the new layer is a text or shape layer.
You need read up on Text Animators so you can understand them.
Type a question in the search field at the top right corner of After Effects.
And you'll find all of these resources. (providing you have the Adobe Help preferences set to search the web)
Animation presets will save all animated properties applied to a layer, but they will only apply the keyframes to properties that exist on the layer. Text Animators only exist in text layers so you'll have to animate your logo by hand or grab yourself a font creation tool and recreate your logo as a font.

How to export the XFDF file from the PDF?

I need to export as XFDF file from the PDF and then save that xfdf file in the same location through javascript. I used this.exportAsXFDF(); for exporting. But i dont know how to save that xfdf file through scripting. Kindly advice me. This is for Acrobat 8.0 professional and windows platform.

There are couple of security restrictions you will have to deal with.
You need to use a trusted function as outlined in the Acrobat JavaScript API Reference, freely down loadable form the Developer community on Adobe's site.

How to export multiple indd files to individual PDF's?

Is there a way without using scripting, to simply take, say 10 single indesign files (all just single 3.5x2 business card layouts) and export them to a pre-defined PDF preset resulting in 10 single PDF's? (other than one at a time?)
I tried a few things from Acrobat 9 pro, one of them being File/export/export multiple files/ thinking that must be the ticket, but
1) I can't find my pre-defined PDF preset in the "export to dropdown list" (but thats secondary, probably can add that in somehow, right?) and
2) even when I just pick PDF/a or PDF/x it starts the process, then tries to open each indd doc but a message comes up saying it can't open the INDD file(s) and nothing was processed.
Can someone help me with this?

Here's what I have been trying.
File/Create PDF/Batch Create Multiple files.
Eventually, I get this window. (output options)
Then when I hit OK, I get this error message saying the files cannot be opened.

How to export w/ lo-res images?

I want to send an .idml file to a copywriter, but with the hi-res images (300dpi) I've placed, the file is 512 MB. I'd rather send him something smaller- is there a way to automatically export the file with 72dpi versions of my images?

IDML files shouldn't be openable in older versions of InDesign.
IDML is a CS4 feature, and I think they only transfer amongst CS4 (v6) of InDesign.
Perhaps they're thinking of .inx, which is how you save back a version, but any bells or whistles that CS4 has are lost in translation back to CS3, like cross-references for example, CS3 does not have that feature, so if you use Cross References from CS4 then they are reduced to plain text on saving back to CS3.

How do you split a vector image into several different colors

Hi, I'm trying to make an infographic for my company and wanted to use an image of christmas tree I found. I put it into Illustrator CS6 and traced it with the 16 colors option ( which i believe makes it a vector). What I want to do is change the colors of the christmas tree on each level of needles, but I can't figure out how to split up the image to change it into different colors. Sorry if this is confusing, any help appreciated.

Audrey, first off, you should know this:
Working with "a vector graphic" and working with a vector graphic that is the result of Illustrator's Image Trace are very likely to be very different things.
You would be much better off if you were starting with a tree graphic that was designed and drawn as a vector graphic in the first place. The people reading your post here can only imagine what's on your screen and how the Image Trace utility might have "seen" and traced it. I'll go so far as to say you won't be able to accomplish what you describe with an Image Trace as the basis. I'm not saying it's impossible, but I do know I wouldn't dare put myself through the anguish of attempting it. Honestly, I think you'll have a better chance of pulling it off if you keep the tree as a raster image, open it in Photoshop, and recolor sections of the tree there. But again, that could be determined with considerably more certainty if I could actually see it.
As a side note, I'd like to add this: You refer to the christmas tree image as one that you "found." I read that to mean you found it on the Internet. If that's the case, and the infographic you're planning is only for an internal presentation, it's not really a big problem, but even then you should consider acquiring permission or license to reuse the image. However, no matter how you might adapt or alter the image, just about any other scenario involving your re-use of that image could lead to issues of legality. Please don't pirate images.

When I build a Keynote presentation that I then export as images to show in photo album Keynote exports the slides as sequentially numbered images. When the images are uploaded to the iPad the order becomes random. Any one know a way to force the iPad to display the images in the desired order?

You can choose File > Print and then choose from the Print output options, including Slides, Slides with Notes, Outline, and Handout. You can also modify the Print outputs from the Options column on the right.
Then on the bottom left of the Print dialog box, you will see a PDF button. Click on that button for options, including Save to PDF. This will create a nice PDF the selectable text and can include the slide for recognition and recall, as well as copy and paste into other applications.

There is one drawback to the Copy/New from Clipboard method. It does not pick up all the elements of the chart. It doesn't give you the axis titles, legend, or chart name.
I do this:
1) Print using the Open PDF in Preview setting
2) In Preview, select the chart and whatever surrounding area you want to have with it.
3) Copy
4) New from Clipboard
5) Save in the desired format.
You can often skip steps 4&5 and paste directly into another document if that is where it is headed.
