How to export .flv?

Hi,
Originaly I posted this mail in Final Cut Pro forum. But nobody responded.
So, now I'm trying here.
I would like to add a flash movie (that is in YouTube) to my web page .
As the original flash movie is in another language I needed to add subtitles. So I imported it into FCP and made the subtitling job there.
Once finished, I exported "Using Compressor" as MPEG-4 format.
I can wach the resulting movie into my Mac Book Pro. It is perfect. QuickTime says that it is MPEG-4 (Perian). Its size is now 177 MB while the original flash movie size was 23.7 MB.
But, when I sent it to my web page designer he said that only way he could open it was when he swapped the extension .mov for .flv. In such condition he can't diminish the size of the file. He is in a PC.
Why has it happened?
How could I export a movie that be a real .mov readable by any QuickTime residing in Mac or in PC?
Do you know any way more eficient that the one I used to add subtitles to a flash movie?

José, this is probably because you are trying to to alter or modify part of YouTube content, distribute it and you are not telling us if you have written permission for this. You won't get much support for this type of activities on an Apple forum, this is against the Terms of Use.

You need three parts for the flv playback: the swf, the flv,
and the video player skin swf. If you create the flv from your
Flash movie by importing the original video, Flash should make all
of those parts for you. Upload each of these files to your server
and the file should play as expected.

How to export flv file from Final Cut Pro?

I'm using Final Cut Pro and try to export edited video in "Flv" format. However, there is no such choice and only "Flc" available? My friend has the same version of Final Cut Pro and there is "Flv" format to choice, why?

Then, under Format I only have "3G, AIFF, FLC, iPod, QuickTime Movie...", no "Flash video (FLV)" as my friend's computer?

I don't see any export settings to export in *.flv or *.f4v format. Do I have to convert *.swf to those formats?

flash is used to display flv's and f4v's but, is not used to create those file types.
you can create flash video using adobe's media encoder or other software.

Could someone explain how I export a Final Cut Studio project to .FLV ? I read many places that it can be done but I do not have any such option (That I can find) on the FCP File menu or File Export menu.
Currently, I'm exporting to Quicktime and then using the Flash Video Encoder that came bundled with Flash but I am not getting very good quality and I'm wasting a lot of time trying it over and over again.

Then theoretically access to this FLV export option should be visible in other areas where you would perform a QuickTime Export.
In FCP, for example, you could go to the menu: File > Export > Using QuickTime Conversion:

Another way to do all this would be to build a Compressor preset. All the above export options, if available in FCP, are going to be available to Compressor as well. One final "workaround" would be to export to H.264 and then change the resulting movies extension from .mov to .flv. This will cause it to open in Flash, usually. Flash Player 9 Update 3, released on December 3, 2007 allowed for the playback of H.264 with Flash. So as long as the end-user has this version of Flash, or newer, on their end—then playback should not be an issue.

How to export markers to FLV cuepoints?

Is there a way of exporting sequence/layer markers to an xml document that could later be brought into Video Flash Encoder? I don't want to use AE for converting large video files. I actually tried, but the cuepoint tab was greyed out even though I made sure all the info was attached to the markers (as indicated by the appearance of a black dot). I was hoping that would be one way of exporting the data but I guess it's not...

That's the thing: I don't want to render in After Effects at all. The only reason I bring my QT files to AE is so I can attach the markers to them and, as I was hoping, export flv cuepoints list to be used in Flash Video Encoder These are completely finished 30 minutes shows that just need to be encoded for the web with chapters but Final Cut Pro markers do not translate into cuepoints.

How to playback FLV file?

Hello, I am currently exporting .flv files using Adobe Flash Encoder. Once these flv files are exported, how can I view the clips? I need to view them for review, and I've tried Downloading flash player 9, but apparently that's just a plug-in for web browser.... help!

VLC will play back .flv files.
Also, you can download Perian which installs as a QuickTime plug-in and should let you open your .flv's right inside of a QT player.

Can compresor 4 export flv to APR 422 LT?

I have a few clips i want to compress so that i can work with FCP Studio (not FCP x) for the obvious reasons, QUALITY and plug ins.
Now to do this i need to re compress all my files to Apple Pro Res 422, now i used the MPEG Streamclip but they files that where flv, H.264, mp4 etc (from youtube) all came out as 5kb dead on arival files, i see the first frame and hear the audio but no video, how ever some of the MP4 files did succeed in the batch list of MPEG Streamclip, my problem is the rest that did not and now i need to know if compressor is worth the chance to see whether it can.
Can anyone here with Compressor verify if it can export flv files to Apple Pro Res 422 LT, from looking at you tube videos i dont even see 433 LT, just 422, but im sure its ok.

The only method I know is to use Sorenson Squeeze 4.

The file or clipboard contents will be in Tab Separated vars, so you'll have to open with a spreadsheet program and save as Comma Separated Vars format.

for Beginners in SSMS after the report is created , how to export the same report to excel, I did try the option to task and export and follow the procedure, this procedure does not export the same report, the one was created, unless I am missing some steps,

GIF is a color restricted format with on/off support for transparency. There's really no settings you can tweak to output a better GIF. You have a drop-down during GIF sequence export to allow transparency, select the amount of colors (up to 256) and you can choose dither to save a little filespace. The only 2 things in there that really matter are dither and amount of colors used to export.
If your content is very similar (e.g. not a lot of complex gradients/shadows/etc) and is limited in color use turning down the amount of colors used and dithering is your only option.
Make sure you're exporting the GIF via "Publish Settings" so you get a single animated GIF and not file->export->movie because this creates a separate sequence of GIF images for each frame.

Create a control file like "rfcdes_export.ctl"
