How to export HD1080p to play (immediately) online.

I just edited a 5 min piece on FCPX - my first time using it.
I was using AVCHD footage imported using ClipWrap from a Canon HD camcorder, using ProRes at 1080p settings.
I exported via FCPX, using h.264 but ended up with a very large file (550mb). Investigated and decided I needed to export at 720p. Did so and got a smaller file (250mb) which looks grainy, has strobing pan/bright areas and still takes ages to link to it's webpage. (See below for more info on this.)
So, I bought Compressor and, trying their regular "720p for upload to video sharing sites" setting, and got a 378 mb file (albeit of better quality).
I also got in touch with my website's host to see why the .mov file was taking 9 minutes to load onto it's page. No answers - they checked everything they could.
I have 2 other videos on that site (each on its own page) that load quickly and yet are much longer playing. One is 18 min, HD, looks reasonable and is only 118 mb! Shot on the Canon in 1080p, imported into iMovie, exported to an .m4v file (probably using Quicktime Pro which I don't seem to have anymore)and then imported into iWeb. According to the control panel, it is described as a text/x-generic file while the .mov file is categorized as video. Would that be the problem?
Any advice as to what Compressor setting is going to give me a okay looking file that is small enough for my host's server to handle?

Thank you for your reply and for your webpage! I didn't seem to get the notification or I would have tried some of your suggestions sooner.
After reading your advice, I have now tried:
Compressor: HTTP Streaming Broadband setting @ 5 Mbps and got a 172mb .mp4file that loaded quickly and looked good but kept pausing.
Compressor: HTTP Streaming Broadband setting @ 2.5 Mbps and got an 87mb .mp4 file that looked okay and didn't pause, but stutters a bit and the audio was out of sync.
Method 1: at 720 fps and got a 130mb .m4v file that also looks okay but keeps pausing.
Method 3: followed instructions and formatted quite small to fit on webpage and got 10 mb .mov file that stutters, is out of sync and pauses!
Method 2: gave me a seemingly identical file to Method 3 but I tried it anyway with same results.
I am ready to try Compressor again - using Method 4, but before I take the time to do this (it takes hours), is there something about the original that I need to change before I compress? I am confused. And why is the sync off?
As I mentioned originally, I have 2 other videos on this site - small files that seemed to work well last time I looked. So I looked again specifically at the one which had sync dial and it too is way off. I am pretty sure it didn't used to play like that - I think I would have noticed!
What is causing this now?

How to export video that plays back smoothly?

I have an HD project in Premiere Pro CS4 that is about 9 minutes. When I render out to Flash for the web, once it's all buffered it plays back real smooth. So the client wants a copy of the "file" to be played on his computer running Windows and Windows Media Player which he will attach to a large 55" flatscreen via HDMI at a trade show. I rendered out several different files ranging from .MOV to H.264 in various resolutions (1920x1080, 1280x720p, 720x480 wide, iPod, etc.) and tested them on my Dell Inspiron i3 laptop running Windows 7 Home 64 bit connected to my 46" tv via HDMI to simulate what the client would have.
The 1920 file was huge (2GB) as one would expect and plays back jerky
The 1280x720p .MP4 file was about 400mb which I was excited about, but plays back jerky
The other two (.MOV and .MP4) at 720x480 play back smoothly
So I'm guessing that it's either a disk / processor issue with playing back the larger files or combo of that and the graphics card or am I having an issue with the way the settings are set in the export options?
The box I'm producing the video on is a Mac i7 quad-core, 8GB RAM and a nice ATI card. The full rez versions of the files play fine on it. BluRay is out too. Don't have a burner and they don't have a player.
So what file format and settings can I render out that will yield smooth(er) results at larger resolutions for my intended output?

And the answer is.... converting the footage to WMV. Tada. I exported a nice huge HD 1920x1080 H.264 file and then used iSkysoft Video Converter to convert it to WMV. Now the only thing is that iSkysoft Coverter only allows 1280x720 as it's largest resolution for WMVs, but even so, the quality on a 46" LCD TV coming from a laptop via HDMI looks pretty sharp. The video was running very smooth (and it was running off a USB key <g>) to boot.
The file size of the original HD H.264 file: 9.02GB
The file size of the converted WMV: 437.5MB
All in all I'm happy with this breakthrough. I was "this" close to buying a BluRay burner, media and telling the client to use a BluRay player.
Now... I love what I got, but it could be better. Does anyone know of a good video converter that will convert WMVs to true HD resolution (1920x1080) or is that 1280x720 a WMV limit?

When you bounce there is a box that if checked, your song is added to itunes. Plus if you highlight a track ant select "Get Info" from the pulldown menu, you can choose the application to open it, iTunes being one of the options.

I am not aware of a control you can put in PowerPoint, however, you can insert a web browser control and reference a page in SPO (or maybe even directly the path to the workbook, didn't try that).

The recommended way is to export the User Manager configuration template out (using the AdminUI), import it into your new enviroment (again using the AdminUI - you have to type the password of the LDAP user in since it is not exported) and then initiating an LDAP Synch.

I think Oracle Apps Help system is built in to Apps installation and you cant easy enough export it. I have got a few things in mind:
1. You can install Apps on your laptop and by that way make ONLINE Help available offline ;) Online help describes Forms, fields, navigation and really ONLINE things. To me it sounds a bit illogical to have ONLINE help without access to the application.
2. The Apps Doc Set is available on the OTN. You can easy download it for OFFLINE reading. And this documentation is intended for offline reading.
3. Help files for each module located in $APPL_TOP/*/11.5.0/help/US directories. You can try to copy a directory for a module you are interested in on you PC and try to read it offline.

I am working on making a complete website in Keynote, basically for fun and a challenge. I know how to export to HTML ofcourse, but if I upload it to my webserver i get this message:
"Slide couldn't be displayed.
Do you want to try again?"
How will I get that working? I know absolutely nothing about coding or anything.... It works great when i open the index.html file from my desktop but not online...

Keynote can only export a slide show in an html file.
If you want to create a website, you will need an html authoring application.

How to export and email so others can play file?

I recently had a ProCare appointment and learned how to export a movie via email. But since that makes choppy videos I learned how to use Expert Settings to change it to a QuickTime movie using h.264 and AAC. This results in a 2-3mb file at 30fps for a 30-45 second clip. Perfect.
Well it works perfect for my Mac, but when I send it to other users (all Windows so far) they get an error saying the file is not a movie. They are using the latest QuickTime for Windows player.
Any ideas?

I've read here such complains of Windows users often... I'm no Windows guy, but it seems so, that not every PC is able to playback h264.. (which needs indeed a very powerful machine.. even for playback..).
and: Only Quicktime 7 (seven) this latest and excellent codec...

How to: export 4:2:0 MPEG2 for Visual Circuits Firefly MC

I am trying to make a series of videos for a multi-channel media player called FireFly MC by Visual Circuits. It plays on 3 monitors and I am trying to make a multi screen presentation to give the illusion that it spans all 3 at times and the goes back to individual montors and back or whatever.
Every time i export and MPEG2 from Premiere Pro and play it on the system, there are tons of artifacts. and color changes to B & W and back to color.
There is a manual online, but the encoding requirements are not really something i am altogether familiar with.
Here are some:
1. Files must be program stream MPEG2 or system stream
MPEG1 of audio/video, or elementary stream MPEG2 or
MPEG1 of video only or audio only.
2. Use 4:2:0, not 4:2:2 encoding.
3. In MPEG-2, both audio and video fields should be encoded.
This is the normal default.
4. Audio only (Dolby Digital or MPEG Layer 2) files cannot be
mixed with files containing videos (MPEG, MPEG2 program
stream, video only).
5. Firefly – Standard IDE Hard Drive): The total bit rate of a
Firefly player must not exceed 40 mbps across four channels
(i.e. averaging 10 mbps per channel). Channels may be
encoded at different bit rates (up to 15 mbps on a given
channel) as long as 40 mbps is not exceeded across a single
hard drive (4-channel player).
6. The presentation time stamp (PTS) values contained in the
audio and video streams in a file must be continuous and
increasing. In particular, the PTS values should not reset to 0 at
any point in the file. The time between the first and last time
stamps in a file should reflect the actual duration of the file.
7. Files should be no less than 4 megabytes in size. If some of
your files are smaller than 4 megabytes, use an editor to
combine the files to create a single file at least 4 megabytes in
size.
8. Files should be no larger than 2 gigabytes in size.
Anyone ever work with this system or know how to export this type of file?

Why should the video codec for Option 1 be V210? Isn't this reserved for 10-bit video?

FCP Apple PRORES 422 (HQ) setting-how to export?

I am importing and dropping in scanned images from the storyboard into FCP and then importting and placing on the timeline some digital animated images which have been done in the format 1920x1080 24fps. They have been put through shake and we chose the setting Apple PRORES 422 (HQ) which I have then set the FCP settings to match that. Everything works fine in Final Cut but then when I export the timeline to make it into a Quicktime movie, the digital animated shots dont play properly, they like skip frames. Do you know anything about this and how I get it to play smoothly? I have tried everything I can think of and nothing is working!

First off, ProRes HQ is VASTLY OVERKILL for converted flash video. That is for 10-bit high end formats. All you gain in using that over ProRes 422 is file size.
Second, 640x432 is a non-standard frame size. 640x480 is more like it, but really, FCP would like to see 720x480. ProRes doesn't really work in RT with the dimensions you have.
Convert the FLV to something like DV50 or just DV. but you have to get the right aspect ratio, or things will require rendering. Or better yet, get the MASTER footage, and not a flash video.

These three fields are present in the main system table (the table of contracts). Then I thought about ...
- create a temporary table from the query results table to contract;
- and then use this temporary table as a reference to fetch the data in other tables of the owner while maintaining integrity. But how? I have not found the answer, because: what to do when not there is the possibility of a join between the contract and any other table?
I am considering the possibility of consulting the names of tables, foreign keys and columns above, and create dynamic SQL. Conceptually, something like:

Well, I am working with release 9.2.0.8.0. But the planning is migrate to 10g this year. So my questions are:
With Data Pump can export data just from tables owned for me (SCHEMAS = MYOWNER) parameterizing the volume of data (SAMPLE) and filters to table (QUERY), right? But parameterizing a contract table QUERY = "WHERE status NOT IN (2,6) ORDER BY contract ":
1º- the Data Pump automatically searches for related data in other tables in the owner? ex. parcel table has X records related (fk) with Y contracts not in (2,6): X * SAMPLE records will be randomly exported?
2º- for the tables without relation (fk) and which are within the owner (MYOWNER) the data is exported only based on the parameter SAMPLE?

How to Export UYVY 4:2:2 8-bit Uncompressed AVI?

I've been doing a lot of testing in Premiere Pro CS5 (on Windows) but cannot figure out how to export video to a generic 4:2:2 8-bit uncompressed AVI file. Here's some background - I've captured some video to an uncompressed Matrox AVI file (via an MXO2 I/O Device). Now I've done some simple cutting and need to get the video off Premiere's timeline (and into another yet-to-be-determined multimedia application). I don't want to lose any quality - hence my requirement for 4:2:2 uncompressed AVI. Also, the file needs to be a standard/generic AVI that doesn't require any special CODECs installed.
In Premiere's File > Export > Media window, there seems to be 2 ways of getting uncompressed 4:2:2 AVIs:
Option 1:
Format: Uncompressed Microsoft AVI
Video Codec: UYVY
Quality: 100
Width: 720
Height: 576
Frame Rate: 25
Field Type: Upper First
Aspect: PAL (1.0940)
Audio Codec: Uncompressed
Sample Rate: 48000 Hz
Channels: Stereo
Sample Type: 16 bit
Option 2:
Format: Microsoft AVI
Video Codec: Uncompressed UYVY 422 8bit
Quality: (Greyed out at 100)
Width: 720
Height: 576
Frame Rate: 25
Field Type: Upper First
Aspect: PAL (1.0940)
Audio Codec: Uncompressed
Sample Rate: 48000 Hz
Channels: Stereo
Sample Type: 16 bit
Audio Interleave: 0
Option 1 is great except that the audio codec detected is "0xfffe extensible wave format" (according to GSpot). I can play the video on practically any machine including something as old as Windows Media Player 9 running on Windows 2000! The audio plays back fine as well in Windows Media Player. However, audio does not play (not detected correctly) in VLC media player, or in Sony Vegas-type software. FYI, the video codec detected (by GSpot) is "UYVY (packed 4:2:2)".
Option 2, on the other hand, is quite the contrary. The video does not play in any version of Windows Media Player (regardless of operating system), but the audio plays fine though. The audio codec detected (according to GSpot) is the standard "PCM audio" format and the video codec is again "UYVY (packed 4:2:2)". In VLC media player, both the video and audio play fine. But in other editing software such as Edius, the video is not detected and only the audio is loaded onto the timeline.
What I would like is a generic 4:2:2 uncompressed AVI file which has audio that works in anything. Is there some setting/parameter that I have missed? Can I customise Option 1 with "PCM audio" rather than "0xfffe extensible wave format"? I want to avoid "Video Codec: None" if at all possible given that the file size will be significantly larger for absolutely no quality gain (I presume this is uncompressed 4:4:4?).
Any suggestions would be most welcome.

I did try to add video in different folders but in the palm device are loaded in the same playlist. Is there a way to organize video files?

QuickTime requires player and plugins that most people don't have. You'll reach a much wider audience if you use HTML5 <video> with mp4, webm and ogg files.

How to save video to play on Creative Zen Vision M

My (PC using) friend just bought a Creative Zen Vision M (the competitor to the video iPod). It will play MPEG1, 2, and 4SP and will play MPEG's created in an older version of iMovie (I forget which, it's been a few years). For some reason, the MPEG4 version created by iMovie HD6 is not compatible with the Zen player.
Does anyone have any ideas of how to export from iMovie HD 6 in a format that can be used by the Creative Zen Vision M?

Sorry about your ZEN Vision:M. From what you mentioned, I don't think the data is recoverable under normal means. You probably might want to take it to a technician? or someone who is familar with electronics to see if they can remove the harddisk from the ZEN Vision:M and recover the data.
