Do you have MacKeeper installed? If so, you will need to uninstall it, then reinstall iMovie, in order to make the share options work.
This is MacKeeper's fault, not iMovie's.

I have the latest version of Adobe Premiere, CC 2014 but whenever I want to render and export a video that is typically 70 megabytes in size I can't seem to always see how big the file will end up being for all the formats and I don't want to end up with a video larger than 250 to 300 megabytes in size just for the extremely best or highest quality even though I want the video to be well polished and in better quality than I usually get thee, These videos are usually imported as mp4. What file version of mp4 or otherwise would give me an originally imported video of 70 megabytes an output of no more than or around 300 megabytes or even less without compromsing video quality? I don't want a huge file size as I am uploading it to my YouTube channel via their web interface on another person's machine and they don't have Premiere and only has a DSL connection. So what video output settings should I use for a good quality video that isn't smaller than the original but the same size or a bit higher and not extremely large like MOVs and sometimes mp4s usually are depending on what you do to it and it is outputted.?

Format: H.264
Preset: YouTube (make sure this matches the dimensions of your sequence)
You could further adjust the Target Bitrate but the preset is already setup for a good quality file for upload.

How to send iMovie video with E-mail

I finally stumbled, fumbled, and bumbled my way into getting a 16-second test video clip into my iMovie Project Library. I even got as far as far as preparing the video resolution for Emailing, although I don't know how I got there. Anyway, I think I am now on the brink of being able to send my test video, but I don't want to waste the entire afternoon learning how to do that. What's my next step?

I finally found the section in my iMovies book that tells how to send iMovies by E-mail, and I have now sent my first test video. The quality not acceptable, but if it arrives as a viewable video, I'll then look into making improvements.

If your movie is less than 10 minutes, you can use iMovie to Share it to YouTube then use iSkysofts free downloader to download the flv file to your Mac.

I don't do much with Flash myself so I'm not sure what to recommend. Google should help.

How to export iMovie clips for import to Windows video editing programs?

What export format creates an exact digital copy of mini-dv video which can be recognised and imported by Windows video editors?
I need to give editable copies of DV to Windows users, The lowest common denominator is Windows Movie Maker, which does not recognise .dv files created by copying from the project's Media folder, or Sharing a Movie to DV stream.
I want to burn data DVDs with clips or complete projects from iMovie which are equivalent to copying back to mini-DV tapes.
Is Share to AVI my only option?
If so, is there any loss in quality?

after spending a few minutes on the net concerning that WindowMovieMaker, my guess is:
WMM does NOT accept a "file.dv" ...
but is does accept that same dv within an avi container... "file.avi"
avi and mov are just containers, not formats, as a box of chocolate, "wrappers" for many codecs...
try to export your clips as avi, and choose under compressor "DV"...- give that a try...
DV is the same codec which is in use on miniDV tapes, and the same, iM uses internally... so, it should be no quality loss.. just a "wrapping"...
(me no PCuser, just read that...)

I created a video on iMovie and I'm trying to export it to my desktop so I can share/upload it to other places. How do I do that? I have a MacBook Air and just updated iMovie. I'm pretty sure it's IOS 7.1.2.

How to export a video with an alpha channel that can be switched off

Hi!
I'm stuck with something that I think might have a simple solution:
I need my video to have an alpha channel while still keeping all the RGB information in place too. This is for Syntheyes, which can take the alpha channel for a video and use it as a garbage matte while tracking.
The problem is that if I draw a mask around my video and then export as a PNG (with alpha), the RGB information seems to be gone even when I choose to ignore the alpha channel. I know how to edit the alpha channel in Photoshop while still keeping the RGB elements untouched, but how should I do that in AE?
Any help will be appreciated!

Okay I will answer my own question:
This worked as soon as I did a proper export as a PNG image sequence. I did my tests with only single frames by using the "save frame as file" -function, which did not work properly (the rbg information was gone).
So the simple solution to this question was:
Draw a mask on the video layer and export with alpha. The RGB will be there, even though the mask hides it in AE.

I am trying to embbed a .swf/.flv video into my website,
using dreamweaver and flash cs4. But when i do so, and i load the
video, the .FLV playback componet wont load or the browser dosent

You need three parts for the flv playback: the swf, the flv,
and the video player skin swf. If you create the flv from your
Flash movie by importing the original video, Flash should make all
of those parts for you. Upload each of these files to your server
and the file should play as expected.

How to export 120fps video from iPhone?

I've been on all day trying to find the answer to this question.... this is what I'd like to do:
I'm experimenting with slow motion in Final Cut Pro X. As I understand it, shooting at a higher frame rate will yield better results.
My camcorders only shoot at 50i or PF25.
I'm looking for a Camcorder that will shoot at 60fps or higher, but then it occurred to me that my iPhone 5s will shoot at 120fps in the slow mo setting.
So, I tried shooting something in this way and then emailed it to myself. My intention was to import the 120fps into Final Cut Pro X. As I understand it, FCPX will only handle up to 60fps(?).
Using the 'Optical Flow' in FCPX seems fairly straight forward, so.......
Do I really need to go out and buy another camcorder, or can I shoot at 120fps on the iPhone then import that into FCPX then use 'Optical Flow'?
* I don't want to use the option of slowing the footage down on the iPhone though *
I believe I have to do something in Final Cut Pro to make the footage playback properly, and make it conform or something...
If anyone can help please do so. I can't find simple step by step instructions on how to do this.

You've made it clear to me that the iPhone 5s does indeed record at 120fps when using the slow mo function. I've taken your advice and imported the footage (rather than email it to myself) and after using a program called 'Mediainfo' I can see that it is indeed 120fps.
Great! So before I go out and buy a Camcorder that can shoot at 60fps, I can experiment with the iPhone 5s and FCPX.
Mathematically I think I'm with you on your explanation of 25% being 1 complete frame etc. (I think).
Would you be so kind as to help me out with a few more queries?
1: I've read that I should convert the footage to ProRes. So I used MPEG Steamclip to convert my footage. Now I don't know how necessary this is, but I noticed it turned a file that was around 30mb into a file that's 300mb. Do I have to convert files to ProRes?
When I import the 120fps footage I get this:

How to export a video with 32 bits ?

Hello everyone
First of all, I'm french so I'm sorry if there are mistakes in my sentences.
I'm experiencing some difficulties with exporting my first short film with Premiere Pro properly.
I want the output to be a .avi file in 32 bits. Unfortunately, when I'm in the export settings window, there are no video codecs allowing the output to be in 32 bits (all the video codecs leads to 8 bits, or 16 bits, or 24 bits, but none of them go further). Therefore, in the "video codecs" form I'm compelled to select "None", and that gives me a 32 bits output that is enormous : 95 go for a 7'30" video...
Of course it's too big, and I can't upload it on vimeo, or either burn any DVD with it.
Do you know if there's a way I can export my project to a 32 bits video, but in a reasonable size ?

I would not count on a reasonble file size but Cineform offers 32 bits.
So does Lagarith if you have it installed.
Quicktime None, Animations and JPEG2000 offer 32 bits
Why do you want 32 bits, no good for vimeo or dvd.
Vimeo prefers mp4 and dvd mpeg2-dvd.

How to export iMovie to YouTube

I've got Mavericks version 10.9.1 MBP; and am using iMovie 10.0.1. I have yet to be able to upload anything to YouTube, although was able to just fine with Mountain Lion. I've clicked "share" and selected YouTube, but am unable to see the progress bar. I see the circle in the top right, but it doesn't seem like anything is happening.
Before, I could export to QT, then upload from there. I don't seem to have that option on this one, to export to QT.

Since Maverick/iMovie '10 I prefer to do in in two steps because the one-step method (direct upload to YouTube) is not working properly. Exporting the movie (option share as a file) in the highest quality and, second step, upload your movie in YouTube works fine to me.

I don't understand how to export a video I took to my mac

I can't email it, it's too long. I can't message it to my email either. I can't find it on itunes after I sync. And I can't find the device in imovie. do i need a third party transfer software?

I tried image capture on my old iMac, I could see the video but when I tried to import it nothing happened. When i tried it on my macbook with iphoto and image capture it reconized my ipod but no files to select came up.

I currently have an idvd project that I have added lots of extra stuff to (slide shows, backgrounds, menus, etc.) I'd now like to add another movie to it from imovie that I have added chapter markers to, so it will run as a separate movie with chapters in idvd.

Yes.
In iMovie export the movie to the Media Browser and it will appear in the media selection area in iDVD.
Just drag it into your DVD project.
