How To EXPORT In Aperture

Hi,
I have imported some photos, and edited them using Aperture.
But I do not know how to "export" the edited photos.
Like I "move the photo dsc001 behind dsc0008", but it still does not make any change after I export them.
Thanks.
Ed

Like I "move the photo dsc001 behind dsc0008"
Can you please explain a little more how you tried to export? I really do not understand how you are moving an image behind another, and how that is supposed to export?
If you have edited an image in Aperture and want to export the edited image to a folder on your hard disk, you use the "Export" command from Aperture's main menu bar:
          File > Export > Version
Then set the "Export Preset" pop up menu to a suitable size and encoding, for example: "Jpeg - Original Size" and select a folder to export to. You can also specify a subfolder format and a naming preset.
Or you can use the "Share" menu to email your images or to share them online.

  • How to Export an Aperture Slideshow to a DVD?

I am using Snow Leopard 10.6.8 and Aperture 3.2.2 on an iMac.
I have followed the procedure set out in the Manual by selecting "Export" and choosing "Export for HD1080p" and then burning the exported slideshow to a DVD-R but neither my DVD player nor Apple's DVD Player software recognise the resultiing disk.  I can successfully create a slideshow in iDVD and burn it to a DVD which will play on both platforms but I understand that iDVD is being or has been discontinued so that option will soon be unavailable.
What am I doing wrong?  Help!

Thanks again, leonie.  I will certainly continue to use iDVD as long as I can.  But the people at the Apple Store warn me that future upgrades to the operating syatem may not support iDVD.  I guess I'li cross that bridge when I come to it.
    Have a great day,
    Robin.

  • How do I export from Aperture to iPhoto?

Ok, I am very new at all of this, and find it quite confusing.
I took several hundred raw photos and imported them into Aperture. I believe they are all in a 'project', the yellow box looking icon? Then, I created numerous folders inside this project, in which I carefully sorted all my photos by subject - about 18 folders. Then, I worked with each folder, fine tuning each image, and adding exif metadata, and rating each image. So far so good.
Now, I want to bring all this images (as full size jpegs) into iPhoto.. this is where I am getting bogged down. There is an export function in Aperture, and an import function in iPhoto: which do I use?
I have been experimenting with various scenarios, but nothing seems to be working the way I want.. specifically, to have all my images in iPhoto - IN THE SAME STRUCTURE as I have in Aperture. When I did manage to bring them into iPhoto, they all came over in one big massive event, leaving all my sorting and ratings behind. This can't be right.. I don't want to resort them all again, moving them into the appropriate folders. And I don't want to have to re-enter the exif metadata and ratings again.
Can someone please help me with this?

Export from Aperture and then import to iPhoto.
Alternatively, you can share your Previews with iPhoto but that gets only the Preview.
FWIW: your workflow makes no sense. It's like writing your novel in TextEdit then opening it in Word to Spell Check and then copying it back to TextEdit. Why not just write your novel in Word? Aperture is not an editor. It's a complete replacement for iPhoto. It will do everything that iPhoto does, and then more. Or if you want to stick with iPhoto, get an editor and use it as an external editor in that.

  • How to Export Aperture Library for Use by Windows PC

Hello and thanks in advance for your help. I have recently returned to using a Mac after years of PC use. I'm using Parallels for some apps that are PC only, an astronomy program, TheSky6, for example. One of the first things I did was purchase Aperture and move my 40GB photo library into it. "Move" is the operative word; I didn't want to use up too much disk space so my photo library now exists only in Aperture. What I didn't realize, at the time I was happily deleting my Photoshop Album library, was that Aperture creates its own universe, and the actual photo files are no longer easily accessible, buried as they are, so to speak, within Aperture folders containing proprietary tags, etc.
Is there an easy way to recreate the folders with just the jpegs, tiffs, raws photo files and nothing else? I realize of course that I could do this photo-by-photo, but it would take an awfully long time. I have tried exporting the projects, but they just export as aperture projects, so that didn't work. I also tried using Photoshop Album (on the pc side), hoping that it would just import the photo files and ignore all the aperture stuff--that didn't work either. A wonderful Apple Script program called "Aperture iPhoto Sync" did work somewhat, but it kept giving me errors before it was finished, and I couldn't keep track of what had copied and what had not.
Learning from my mistake (the story of my life!), I have realized that I would like to keep the photo files accessible to a PC as well. I keep thinking I am missing something really simple here. Any thoughts would be appreciated.

May I humbly and quietly suggest to read the manual before doing anything drastic.
It would have been better to import all your images as referenced masters. Images would have stayed in the location they were in and the Aperture library would only have contained links or references to them. This would not have used up extra hard drive space.
A good site for Aperture is the Bagelturf site.
Have a look at this article in which Bagelturf explains "relocate and consolidate" of images.
    http://homepage.mac.com/bagelturf/aparticles/ref/refrecon/refrecon.html
Considering your objectives, using referenced masters is the best option for you.

  • How to export Aperture slide shows to dvd player

I'm finding plenty of iPhoto suggestions but nothing specific to Aperture.  When I export a slideshow using classic and its defaults the exported result is a .MOV file.  It won't play in the DVD.  I have not idea what kind of player will end up being the one of choice for the person I doing this for but I need a format that is universal,...if there is such a thing....AVI maybe?  Anyway I tried changing the default to Mpeg4 and the end product was still a .MOV.  The file Info says the codec is mpeg4 but since the extention is still .MOV I'm guessing it still won't play.
    Sure could use some help,
    Steve

After you export from Aperture you need to add the movie to an iDVD project. iDVD is required to create a disk in the specific format that your DVD player requires.

  • How do I get aperture to allow exports to two Facebook accounts. It allows 1 email address and does not recognize that there is another Facebook page attached.

How do I get aperture to allow photo downloads from aperture to two facebook pages that are attached to my one email address.  I have icloud and photostream and I am not sure how to attach my second facebook page  so that I can download pics to that page.

I did not know you could have the same email for two different FB accounts?
I can only tell you that Aperture can upload to more than one account when they have different identifiers.

  • What is the best settings to use in the export manager when exporting from Aperture 3.5 to Photoshop cc.  tiff? psd? 16bit? dpi?

What are the best settings to use in the export manager when exporting from Aperture 3.5 to Photoshop cc for editing?
Should I use tiff or psd?
    8bit or 16bit?
    How many dpi?

That will depend on the photometric resolution of your originals. For jpegs it would be a waste of space to convert them to a higher resolution than 8bit, but if your images actually have already more than 8bit, you will want to preserve this quality. Then he 16bit format will help to prevent color clipping.
Both tiff and psd will preserve the lossless workflow. With Photoshop as external editor I would use he psd format for better support of layers and transparency, e.g., when you want to create watermark files.
The dpi will only matter, when you export the file for printing.

  • Exporting from Aperture, RAW+edits or JPEGs?

Forgive me if this is a basic question for seasoned users but I am new to Aperture (just coming to the end of a trial period).
I shoot in RAW format but have recently also included a JPEG medium sized version.
I have imported both versions into Aperture 3 and have chosen the raw version as the one to be viewed.
I would like to export the raw versions, as adjusted, into high quality large size file JPEGs which I can then burn to disk to share.
I can see how I export the master (with no ability to change the format) or the JPEG as it is (or at even a lower resolution). How do I get large size JPEGS from the raw version?
I have looked a little while for the answer - if it does happen to be covered elsewhere and I have not spotted it, please go easy on me.

    Welcome to Apple Discussions!
In your camera, are you shooting RAW+JPEG, i.e. the JPEG is imbedded within a single file that includes the RAW image? This is an option for example on Canon cameras. When you Import form your camera, there are several options in the Import pane on the right side of Aperture’s window. You can select RAW+JPEG and use the RAW as Master or use the JPEG as Master. You should always select RAW as Master as you are limiting your control over the images if you work with JPEGs as Master. The JPEGs you import with those RAW files are not wasted however as Aperture will use them when present to generate Previews. Previews, when used, are what Aperture displays in the Viewer mode; Thumbnails are smaller than Previews and are displayed in the Browser mode.
You mentioned you are making adjustments to the Masters. I assume those Masters are your RAW files. So the images that are based on your adjusted Masters are called Versions. When you export, you can still Export Masters but those files will not include your adjustments. Typically you’ll want to Export Versions so the images you export include your adjustments.
Now to maximize the quality of the exported images, you can use the Aperture -> Presets -> Image Export to define how you want the images exported. You can Export your RAW adjusted images as JPEGs, TIFFs, PSDs, etc. So let’s say you choose JPEGs as the output format for your exported files.
When you execute the Aperture -> Presets -> Image Export or Files -> Export command, you’ll see a similar dialog in terms of selecting the image format and other items. It sounds like you want to use the JPEG format, original size, with high quality (use 10 or 12 for the image quality setting).
Are you exporting to be able to view on the Web (or any screen) or to print? If the goal is just to view, then you can select a DPI (dots per inch or PPI, pixels per inch) such as 72 or 100 or whatever matches your screen. If you are sending it to other people, you may likely select 72 as that’s the old screen default density. If you are planning on printing from the exported files, then you’ll want to select at least 300 dpi in the export panel.
As for colour profile, you can use the default sRGB as that will be commonly available for most users or make another selection as you wish. Your camera likely defaults to using sRGB colour space, but you can change that in some cameras to something like Adobe RGB 1998 if you have that option.
That should get you started. To summarize, define the settings you want in the Presets and I hope you have a better understanding of what Aperture does when you import your RAW+JPEG files and export Versions.

    Hi jerryj69,
    Welcome to the Support Communities!
The link below to the iPhoto for iOS manual covers many of these topics.
iPhoto Help: Ways to share photos
    http://help.apple.com/iphoto/iphone/2.0/#blnk7d8f763e
    Ways to share photos
Using iPhoto on your device, you can share your photos in many ways:
    Send photos to other devices
Beam photos, albums, events, journals, and slideshows (send wirelessly) from your device to another iOS device with iPhoto installed. Beaming shares photos in full resolution.
If you have a device that supports AirDrop, you can send photos wirelessly to other iOS devices that use AirDrop. You can use AirDrop to share photos, albums, events, journals, and slideshows. AirDrop shares photos in full resolution.
If you have an iCloud account and you’ve set up My Photo Stream, photos you save to the Camera Roll are sent to all of your devices.
Use photos in other apps on your device
Send your photos to other apps installed on your device, including iMovie and other iPhoto-supported apps.
Use your photos in any app by saving them to the Camera Roll.
    Send photos to your computer
Import photos directly into iPhoto or Aperture on your computer.
Save photos to your computer using iTunes.
    Share photos on the web
Post photos to your Twitter, Flickr, or Facebook accounts directly from iPhoto. You can add comments when you post photos using iPhoto.
Create a web journal with your photos and publish your journal as a webpage using your iCloud account.
Create a slideshow with your photos and publish your sllideshow as a webpage using your iCloud account.
    Email, display, and print photos
Send an email with your photos.
Share photos using the Messages app on your device.
Present your photos as a slideshow with music and transition effects.
View photos on an external display using an HDMI cable adapter or on a TV using AirPlay and Apple TV.
Print photos from your device to a printer that supports AirPrint. Tap > Print and select a printer.
Create books of your photos and order professionally printed and bound copies of them.
Order professional-quality prints, and have them delivered to an address you specify.
    Cheers,

  • How do I import Aperture Library into Photoshop Elements 12?

New to Photoshop Elements 12.How do I import Aperture Library into Photoshop Elements 12?

You would really need to export copies from the Aperture database, to folders on your hard drive and then import them into Organizer.
Or continue with Aperture (don’t use Organizer) and simply send photos to the Elements Editing app as required.

  • How can I make Aperture share on Flickr with sRGB?

  • How to export pics/movs back to iPhone?

I have tried to export a few pictures and movie clips in Aperture (shot with my iPhone) back to my iPhone but it doesn't seem to work.
It looked like the export was going fine (and I never got any error message). However, when the export was complete I couldn't find neither pictures or movie clips on the iPhone.
    Have I missed something here?

By the way, how do you include a photo album in iTunes?
You cannot include the photo album in iTunes, but when you sync your iPhone using iTunes you can set it to sync the Photos with Aperture, that is how I sync my Aperture Library to my iPod.
Click on the iPhone icon when your iPhone appears in the devices list in iTunes to open the above panel, and then select the projects and albums you want to sync.

I think there are third-party programs which will do that, but you can also do it with Automator:

The file or clipboard contents will be in Tab Separated vars, so you'll have to open with a spreadsheet program and save as Comma Separated Vars format.
