How to export in high def

I have created a high def project in CS3 using PPro's high def project preset.  Upon completion I would like to export it a high def movie and file for the clients use.  I searched the forum for a string but was unsuccessful.  Any thoughts on the matter.  Thank you.

you probably want to burn a blue ray disk ?  you can use a program like encore that came with CS3 to burn the blue ray disk I think.

  • How to Export a HIGH QUALITY .avi file.  help PLEASE

Hi, I am trying to export my movie to an avi file, so I can upload it on youtube. I've done some searches online, but have not found any answers that work. I keep getting very low image quality, no matter what settings I choose. I've gone into quicktime preferences and saved the file in "high quality" and that doesn't work. How can I export a movie file with the same image quality as the original project? I'm using Explicit to split the file into two parts, but it can only handle .avi files. Please help!

Ah, I just converted it with the wrong compressor. I used DV/DVCPRO-NTSC prog. scan and it looks beautiful.

  • How do I get high def movie from my iphone 4 to my television?

I purchased an Apple Composite cable to connect to my television with my iPhone 4 so that I could play my HD movie to my television. It does not work, if only shows in SD. I do not have internet in my house so the Apple TV is out. Please help!

Composite does not carry an HD signal. The only inputs you'll find on a TV that are HD are HDMI, Component and the old DVI connectors.

  • How can I use both high def (16:9) and regular def (4:3) in the same video?

I'm editing a load of video, some of it was shot in 16:9 high-def and some in 4:3 regular-def. Id really hate to see the 4:3 footage go to waste. What can I tack on to the black sidebars on either end of this footage to fill in the gaps? I've also seen on TV where the sidebars on old 4:3 footage is blurred out by video from that particular frame. How can I do this?

Just duplicate the footage and superimpose.
Stretch the underlaying footage to fill the screen and add a blur.

  • How did I export a High-Res image from my FCP Project?

I know how to export still images using Quicktime Conversion. But it is possible to export High Resolution images from my FCP Project. You help would be much appreciated

Wow man, that's not the most efficient way to get stills. You can do this in FCP, it's easy. Here is what you do....
Go to EXPORT and then USING QUICKTIME CONVERSION
You will see a dropdown box in the right corner that says FILE FORMAT. Change that to STILL IMAGE.
Underneath you can choose which type of still Image you would like to convert the frame to (JPEG, PIC, PSD, etc) You can also change the quality
    Hope this helps.

How to Export a WMV file in High Quality but low MB?

I'm really afraid you are the only person who can answer that.
ANY compression is totally relative: what do you think is small? What do you define as high quality?
I can get a 5 minute wmv file at just under 100mb that I find acceptable for browser downloads. You might think that's too big. I don't.
Trial and error is the only way. Personally, I've set up a compressor preset to crunch my wmv files. While it's doing it's thing, I can do something else.

  • High Def mini DV camcorders, how many minutes can you record?

    Im looking for new camcorder,
Sony website says High Def 60 minutes of playback and recording
But guys at Best buy say 20-30 minutes so im just trying to find out whos right.
How much time does a tape last?

    Hi Applenoobie
Whether using High Def tape or regular DV tape you will record for at least 60 minutes. Most DV tapes have grace by adding a few minutes of extra tape just in case. Where you'll find a difference is if you are taping in High Def or standard Def. High def seems to consume more power or standard def. Thus, you battery will not last a total 60 minutes unless you buy a biger battery than comes standard with most cameras. Perhaps that was what the guys at Best Buy were trying to convey.
DV tape whether high def or standard def is superior to camera that employ a hard drive, record directly to DVD, or mini DVD, or even flash based video cameras because each of these encode the video and compress it in different ways. In most cases you can get at the video, but to make it editable you'll need some kind of 3rd party application to convert it to the DV standard anyway. then you will have the issue of how to store hours upon hours of video. DV tape is the way to go.
    See your previous post.

No Hugh! You'll be fine - if you have an external monitor it will need to contend with PAL.
I frequently edit in NTSC (in a PAL country) when my US clients need a good job done (Hehe!!!)

how to burn a high-quality audio cd in iTunes 9.0.2?
It is not possible to burn a high-quality audio CD in any version of iTunes.
iTunes burning is designed for quick, convenient burns directly from a playlist.
iTunes does not do the proper volume normalization or silence suppression that is required for a high-quality finished product.
If you are striving for quality, you can consider dedicated burning programs such as Toast, Nero, or Roxio.

  • High def quality loss

this may sound like a really silly question, but given that although you can import and edit hdv/ avcdh, there is no way at the moment of publishing high def projects in high def (other than apple tv). With that in mind, how much quality do you lose by burning a project onto DVD?
    Thanks

You do NOT lose ALL the quality. That's a myth.
You lose resolution, but not so much quality. Starting with HD is like starting with movie film. The higher quality you start with, the better any DVD will look.
The export codec you use, the compressor you use, and the bit rate you use all make a difference in DVD quality. Plus, the filtering you perform in the HD to SD down-conversion.
You can make bad DVDs and you can make good DVDs.

  • How to export 16:9 for auto 4:3 letterboxing?!

I am editing for a TV show and the TV station says that I need to have it formatted for 4:3 and 16:9 BUT they said they only want it in 16:9 HD and to export it so that it will automatically Letterbox when played on a 4:3 TV! Now I don't see how that would be something I would do in exporting, but more something they would at the TV station! I'm not sure if anyone has any ideas or any knowledge it would be incredibly helpful!

You have a lot of mixed messages here, but the most critical is "they said they only want it in 16:9 HD".
Basically you'll deliver 1920x1080 or 1280x720 depending on the station.
The reference to "have it formatted for 4:3 and 16:9" likely is for title graphics. This is called center-cut safe, keeping graphics inside a 4:3 title safe area within the 16:9 image. Center-cut safe is almost always a requirement for broadcast since the image can be viewed in several different ways depending on the station and receiving television settings (which are out of your control).
A 16:9 HD image will automatically letterbox on a 4:3 television IF the owner of the TV has set it up to do so (typically the default). Neither you nor the TV station has control of how the owner/viewer sets up a TV. A 16:9 HD file can not be created to automatically letterbox, that is a function of the TV.
Now, one situation that may change all these interpretations of your mixed messages is delivery in Europe. I believe Europe prefers a 16:9 image squeezed into a 4:3 anamorphic format that when displayed on 16:9 TV is widescreen and on a 4:3 TV is letterboxed. The main point of confusion between that possibility and your statement above is the 4:3 anamorphic can NOT be High Def.

  • How to export from iMovie back to my Sony camera ?

    HI,
If anyone can help me I would be very lucky...
I just bought a Sony HDR-HC9 Full HD 1080 mini DV camera.
I have transfer (firewire) my records into my iMac via iMovie...and have cut some peaces to reduce the recorded time...etc...
*Now I would like to transfer/export back from iMovie into the camera on the mini DV support.*
Can anyone tell me how to proceed...? Or is it just unpossible or shall I buy another software ?
    Thanks in advance to all...
    Kind regards.

Not possible in iMovie 08. This also from a very reliable source:
    http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?threadID=1507442&tstart=30
You can do this though with iMovie HD6 and with a cam such as yours, you will most likely get better video quality in your end product and also have a better editing suite to work with, if you use HD6 instead of 08. iMovie HD6 was made to give the best results from High Def miniDV cams like yours. iMovie 08 uses single field processing of the video, which basically tosses out half of the video info in a frame.
You can get a free download of iMovie HD6 at the Apple downloads site, if you don't already have it.

  • 3 questions: Time Warp, High Def, and DVDs

    3 questions:
    1. If I am wanting to slow down or speed up a shot how do I go about doing that in FCE?
    2. If I shoot in High Def, how do I make a video copy for people without High Def? Is there a way?
    3. In the past I have had some trouble with some DVDs being read in certain DVD players. Is there a specific type of DVD that is better all around?

    1. Modify>Speed
    2. Export to QuickTime Conversion and change it to a different format.
    3. This can be caused by many different things. The most likely cause is the type of media used. You should try this question on a forum for DVD creation, like iDVD or DVD Studio Pro. It's really nothing to do with anything that can be fixed in FCE.
