How to export iPhotos to usb connected camera or sd card

Cannot export iPhotos to sd card. I have also tried connecting camera to usb slot but still cannot export from iPhotos

Export the photos to a desktop folder (Exporting From iPhoto), mount the SD card in the card reader and drag the folder to it

How to export iPhoto Album in iMAC and have similar folder structure(with Timestamps) which can be viewed in finder
In simple terms, I wanted to view the photos in Windows system, similar strcture of iPhotos

If you want to copy all of your photos to a Windows machine and have them in folders representing the iPhoto Events the were in quickly and easily just do the following:
1  - open the library with the Finder as shown in this screenshot:
2 - COPY the Originals/Masters folder to the Desktop.
3 - copy the Originals/Masters folder to the Windows machine.
This will give you all of your original image file in their Event folder on the Windows machine.
NOTE:  With iPhoto 8 or newer the Event folders in the Masters folder will be titled by date (EXIF) if imported from a camera.  If imported from a folder the event folder will have the same title as the source folder.  If imported singularly or in a group without a folder the title will be a date, either the EXIF date or import date.
With iPhoto 7 (08) and earlier the Event folders in the Originals folder will have the same title as the Event has in the library.
This method would be quicker but not provide the additional metadata you might have added in iPhoto like keywords, titles, descriptions that exporting out of iPhoto with Format=JPEG and the checkboxes selected to include keywords, titles, places, etc, checked.

  • How do I use a usb web cam with MacBook Pro

How do I use a web camera with a MacBook Pro?  I want to run it through my laptop so I can project it on a screen for teaching a class.

You can try it, but probably not.
This Apple article http://support.apple.com/kb/PH2134 explains that a Firewire-connected, tape-based camera or camcorder mode will work.
If you don't have access to one that works, a simple workaround is to record your video with QuickTimeX Player (the v.10.x one from Lion).  You can import that recorded video into iMovie for editing.
If your Mac OS is earlier than Lion whose QuickTime does not offer movie recording as installed, use QuickTime7 Pro for recording.

How can I export iPhoto Albums to the Library or iBook?

You're posting in the iPhoto for iOS forum... you know, iPad, iPhone, etc.  That's why I brought up the camera roll.  If your question is directed to iPhoto on the Mac, this isn't the right forum.  You need to go here:

  • Usb video camera and tv card /dev/video

I have a usb video camera and a pci tv card on my computer. However when I reboot they change between /dev/video0 and /dev/video1. How can I set it up so that every time they will be assigned the same /dev/videoX device?

I'll bet you are having a similar problem to that which happens with disk drives.  Take a look at this wiki article on how to deal with drives that swap.  I think the same technique can be applied to supplement 60-persistent-v4l.rules.
    I've not tried this, YMMV

  • How to export iPhoto slideshow to quicktime and then view on video iPod?

How do you export a slideshow to a Quicktime movie (from iPhoto) so that the resulting Quicktime movie is then viewable on an iPod?
I've exported slideshows (with transitions, specified Ken Burns effects, music, etc.) to Quicktime movies to try to view these on my iPod. I don't want to view my photo albums since they don't have of the effects that the slideshow has. There is an option to save the slideshow in a small file size that is presumably viewable on an ipod. About 80% of the time, however, the Quicktime movies are then NOT viewable on my iPod. My iPod just freezes when I try to start the movie.
Here are the steps I use to export
    1. From iPHoto Select the slideshow / File / Export / select small movie
    2. From iTunes / File / Import / select the Quicktime movie that was created from the slideshow

    2. iPhoto '08 version 7.1.1 (354)
    3. Video iPod purchased in May 2006. (60 GB). Uses iPod software version 1.2.3 (most current version for this iPod)
    4. Quicktime Player version 7.3.0 Player Version 7.3 (7.3)
I've tried synchronizing my iTunes with the Quicktime movie to a new iPod and that doesn't work either. I've tried many different approaches but none of these ever work. I'd really appreciate any thoughts or ideas you might have. Thank you!

You probably will need a 3rd party application to convert the . mov QT file that iPhoto creates into a format for the iPod. Some are VisualHub, ViddyUp, and iSquint. You can find them at VersionTracker.com.

TIP: For insurance against the iPhoto database corruption that many users have experienced I recommend making a backup copy of the Library6.iPhoto database file and keep it current. If problems crop up where iPhoto suddenly can't see any photos or thinks there are no photos in the library, replacing the working Library6.iPhoto file with the backup will often get the library back. By keeping it current I mean backup after each import and/or any serious editing or work on books, slideshows, calendars, cards, etc. That insures that if a problem pops up and you do need to replace the database file, you'll retain all those efforts. It doesn't take long to make the backup and it's good insurance.
I've created an Automator workflow application (requires Tiger), iPhoto dB File Backup, that will copy the selected Library6.iPhoto file from your iPhoto Library folder to the Pictures folder, replacing any previous version of it. It's compatible with iPhoto 08 libraries and Leopard. iPhoto does not have to be closed to run the application, just idle. You can download it at Toad's Cellar. Be sure to read the Read Me pdf file.

  • IPhoto hangs when connecting camera

I am having trouble connecting my camera to iPhoto. I have used my camera with iPhoto fine for years but has recently stopped working. When I connect the camera, iPhoto loads up and the camera appears on the left in the sidebar, but it hangs while trying to display the photos on the camera. I have the same problem with image capture. The only way I've been able to get photos off it is by copying them from the memory card in the Finder.
I have tried rebuilding the iPhoto library and have restored from a backup but it's still not working. Any ideas?
    Details: iPhoto 9.1.3, Mac OS X 10.6.8.

I have had pretty much the same problems as you in both iphoto and image capture and had to use simple copy & paste in Finder to get things off the card. As suggested above reformatting the SD card on the speciifc camera was the only effective solution. I even bought a new SD card and had the same problem until I formatted that on the device specifically.
This seems (to me) to be a problem with the most recent versions of iphoto 9.1.3 & 9.1.5. By chance I have also been connecting my camera to another machine which is running iphoto 08, it has had no problem with either SD cards all the way through.

  • How to export iphoto library but keep thumbnails

My iPhoto '11 library is taking up 70G of much needed space on my Macbook Pro (2009), but rather than trying to add memory or buy a new laptop I'd like to move the Library off my HD. Right now it is all backed up to my external HD. However, I'd like to keep thumbprints of the photos in iPhoto if possible, so that I can see the photos on my Mac. Is this possible? If so, how can I do this?

If you try and do this with iPhoto it will complain and fail to open if the external drive is not connected.
However, this is perfectly possible with Aperture, if you want to go that way.

  • How to export iphoto library to my new mac

I just got a new mac and want to transfer my old iphoto and itunes libraries to my new mac.  What is the best way to do that?

Connect the two computers together via a network or FireWire target mode or USB and drag the iPhoto library from the old computer to the pictures folder of the new and launch iPhoto
ITunes is probable similar but the iTunes forum is the place to find out

  • How to export iphoto library to other location ?

iphoto is taking lots of memory space... how would I export photos to another location, like an external disk?

The iPhoto Library is a SQL database and must be kept intact - you can use it on an external Hard drive -
Moving the iPhoto library is safe and simple - quit iPhoto and drag the iPhoto library intact as a single entity to the external drive - depress the option key and launch iPhoto using the "select library" option to point to the new location on the external drive - fully test it and then trash the old library on the internal drive (test one more time prior to emptying the trash)
And be sure that the External drive is formatted Mac OS extended (journaled) (iPhoto does not work with drives with other formats) and that it is always available prior to launching iPhoto
And backup soon and often - having your iPhoto library on an external drive is not a backup and if you are using Time Machine you need to check and be sure that TM is backing up your external drive

Now, I would like save the first picture of the batches on a USB-Stick. In PSE 8 for Windows I do it with "file" and "export as a new file". There is no "export as a new file" for PSE 9 for Mac. What can I do?

  • How to export iphoto library?

I just want to be able to back up my entire library onto a DVD or external HD but I can't seem to find how to do this unless I move every photo manually.

Go to your Pictures Folder and you’ll find the iPhoto Library there.
Copy that to your External. That’s your Library: Photos, Albums, Events, Keywords, Books, Calendars, all backed up.
You can do incremental (and automatic) updates using an app like DejaVu or any of the many other options you’ll find on MacUpdate.
IF you want to back up the Library to DVD them use the Share -> Burn command. This will create a disk that is read by iPhoto.

  • How to export iPhoto library to an external hard drive?

When you say "drag the iPhoto library intact as a single entity to the external drive", do you mean drop and drag the iPhoto applications icon from the task bar, to the external? I tried that and the mouse icon turned into the cloud, as if to delete iPhoto. I am sorry for my very novices skills. Can you please help?
No - "drag the iPhoto library intact as a single entity to the external drive" does not mean "drop and drag the iPhoto applications icon from the task bar, to the external"
It means exactly what it says - drag the "iPhoto Library" to the external drive - by default your iPhoto library is in the pictures folder  --  the only thing you do with the iPhoto application is to "depress the option key and launch iPhoto then use the "select library" option to point to the new location on the external drive "

  • How to export iphoto 'movie' to final cut pro

I am a novice to iPhoto, but use Final Cut for movies. Is there a way to create a slideshow in iPhoto and then export that into a file suitable for importing into FCP?

I know that a slideshow created in iPhoto and exported to QT will import into Final Cut Express. So I'm guessing you can do the same with FCP.
If FCP likes other formats better to work with then what comes to mind is to take the iPhoto movie in QT Pro and save it to a format that FCP likes better than .mov files. Again, I'm only guessing here as I don't use my FCE much at all.
