How to export just a little piece of a comp?

Can I export just a little piece of the comp rather than "Export active comp to new track" which delivers the whole comp?
After I comp my take and then listen to it again, sometimes I just want to go back and change one little part. The workflow would be alot easier if I could just export a small part, either with the loop indicator or another way.

Try hold the shift key while comping. This allows you to adjust the boundaries of one take, without filling in the area from another take. You can make holes, or create a comp with just one phrase. You'll probably end up with a couple of really narrow slices on a couple takes in the middle of a blank area - just grab and move them all the way to the edge with the regular swipe tool. Also when you now export, or move, this comp you may end up with a couple extra regions on the very front and back of the whole take area, but those are easy enough to delete.

Besides the Share to Disc limitation of using the WAB, there are a few other Export options where it will not be available, but for most options it is. Here is a look at the WAB (Work Area Bar), and how it is set:

PS - if you want to Burn to Disc, only a portion of the Timeline, you can do that, though not as directly, as the above WAB limiting. You would first Open your Project, and then do a Save_As, renaming to something like Project Name_Short (very important), and then Delete the elements that you do not want. When done, do a Save of this edited Project, and then Burn to Disc from it. As you did a Save_As first, you still have your original Project un-edited and safe. That is why the Save_As step is so very important.

I figured out how to detach audio, but cannot figure out how to export JUST the audio to send as MP3. How specifically do I do it?

You don't need to detach the audio. Export a master file and in settings you get the option to export audio only.

Because of certain logistical reason, now my immediate boss has moved to our new corp HQ. I have to send him updates/schedules of me and my design team. We both use/have macs and I thought of *exporting my iCal* (which I have all the schedules) *to him*
*But I don't want to export the entire iCal.* Probably just the current or 2 months ahead.
*Is there anyway of doing that?*

As dechamp said, just drag and drop the ones you want to the desktop. You also don't mention where you want to import them to. A new Entourage database? To a different Entourage database?
In either case, follow this method:
1) Put the Entourage database you want to retrieve the two messages from into your user account where Entourage keeps its database files. If the folder is named "Main Identity", make sure to move the one that's there by the same name onto the desktop into a temporary folder first so you don't overwrite it.
2) Launch Entourage. The database you want to get the emails from should open. Drag and drop the two emails you want to the desktop. If the emails contain any attachments, they will be included in the files created wherever you drop them. Close Entourage.
3) Go back to the folder where the Main Identity folder is and move it out to the desktop or other location.
4) Now, either put the Main Identity folder that was there back, or let Entourage create a brand new one by launching it again. With Entourage running, just drag and drop the emails on the desktop back into the Entourage interface into whatever folder you want them in. If they're going to a different computer, put the two emails onto a flash drive or whatever and bring them over. Drag and drop them into Entourage there in the same manner.

How can I export just a few clips to LiveType?

I want to just export a short group of clips from FCE to Livetype to use as a background, but I can only figure out how to export the entire segment, and I think it is hurting the performance of LiveType. Does anyone know? Thanks.

In FCP there is a batch export option but I do not know if it exists in FCE.
but, honestly, manipulating video in LiveType is frsutrating and a waste of time. You have much more control in FCE/FCP. Just use your clip for timing or placement but don't try to render it in your LT movie.

Seems like there is some physical damage causing an intermittent issue of the iPhone being unable to power on.
You could try a reset:
- hold the home button and sleep/wake button down at the same time
- the iphone will turn off(keep holding) then when the Apple logo appears release both buttons
If the reset fails I would suggest next time it powers on to try and back it up to either iTunes/iCloud then you can try a restore to factory settings or just back up and book an appointment at an Apple Store to have the iPhone evaluated.

I assume all is rendered at 100% and you Mixed Down (in the Sequence Menu).
It sounds like it may be one of those quirky things like a key stroke character used in the file name that OSX doesn't like.

How can i export just one mailbox from 10.6.8 mail in 10.9.2

I’m using Mail in 10.9.2.
I took the mail from 2 old POP a/cs and archived it in 4 (i.e. sent + received) folders under ‘On My Mac’. Then, unfortunately, I deleted the contents of one of those folders.
I have a backup of the emails, but it is in an old version of Mail, in 10.6.8.
How can export the mail for that one folder and import it into the current Mail in 10.9.2? And will it be compatible?
I’m running Mavericks on a MBP from an external FW800, and 10.6.8 is on the internal drive.

You will first have to install the OS that shipped with the Mac. After that, you can upgrade it to Mavericks.

GIF is a color restricted format with on/off support for transparency. There's really no settings you can tweak to output a better GIF. You have a drop-down during GIF sequence export to allow transparency, select the amount of colors (up to 256) and you can choose dither to save a little filespace. The only 2 things in there that really matter are dither and amount of colors used to export.
If your content is very similar (e.g. not a lot of complex gradients/shadows/etc) and is limited in color use turning down the amount of colors used and dithering is your only option.
Make sure you're exporting the GIF via "Publish Settings" so you get a single animated GIF and not file->export->movie because this creates a separate sequence of GIF images for each frame.

S5 - little piece covering charging port & lack of customer service

Argh - just typed entire message, clicked submit and then it asked me to log in...guessing my post was lost. here I go again. Got the S5. Knew right away that the little piece opening from left-right to charge was going to be an issue. and, sure enough, it fell off. Went to the Verizon store (don't know why I bothered because they are ALWAYS nasty in there). I was told that they sold THOUSANDS in that store alone and that I WAS THE ONLY ONE who had this problem (uh - I really really don't believe that). They also said that I SCREWED UP THE WARRANTY because I broke it (yeah, open once a day to charge, close once a day when finished charging - yup, real abusive). They also said they would definitely not recommend me using my extended warranty. With that, I left. I called customer service who thought I was right and that it should be covered by the warranty but I needed to defer to technical support. She didn't give me a number but transferred me (I still cannot find the right number). Well, I was on hold for over 20 minutes and no one still picked up (could it be that others had the same issue?). My sister and I have been on the fence about leaving Verizon for a while now as other carriers have the same devices. Now might really be that time. Trying to jump through hoops to get answers and help. So, if I truly "VOIDED" the warranty, I guess I should just stop paying for an extended warranty since, as the rep told me in the store, I blew it on my own...ARGH!!!!!!!

The early S5's had problems with the door. It is a known issue. Don't let anyone tell you otherwise. If your phone was produced before June (not sure exactly when), call Verizon Customer Support (*611, option 3) and ask for tech support - they will go through the warranty replacement process with you. Samsung changed the materials the door was made from starting in June because they would fall apart so easily. It is an important piece, without which the phone is no longer water-resistant, so it is replaceable under warranty. Don't let customer service try to convince you to contact Samsung directly because if it is a manufacturer defect you have to work directly with the manufacturer. Make them send you to tech support! Samsung warranty support will tell you to ship the phone to them. That will result in you being without a phone for a couple of weeks. If you work through Verizon, the warranty replacement will be sent to you, and you send the original phone back after you transfer to the replacement phone.
Verizon stores are not the place to go for support for your phones - they are there to sell you product, not support what you've bought. Tech support has the time, knowledge and resources to really help you. This is especially true of the Verizon premium resellers which are not actually owned by Verizon.

My initial requirements are: seeking information on company code (emp), contract status (status) and / or effective date of contract settlement (dt_liq_efetiva) - a small amount of data to developers.
These three fields are present in the main system table (the table of contracts). Then I thought about ...
- create a temporary table from the query results table to contract;
- and then use this temporary table as a reference to fetch the data in other tables of the owner while maintaining integrity. But how? I have not found the answer, because: what to do when not there is the possibility of a join between the contract and any other table?
I am considering the possibility of consulting the names of tables, foreign keys and columns above, and create dynamic SQL. Conceptually, something like:

Well, I am working with release 9.2.0.8.0. But the planning is migrate to 10g this year. So my questions are:
With Data Pump can export data just from tables owned for me (SCHEMAS = MYOWNER) parameterizing the volume of data (SAMPLE) and filters to table (QUERY), right? But parameterizing a contract table QUERY = "WHERE status NOT IN (2,6) ORDER BY contract ":
1º- the Data Pump automatically searches for related data in other tables in the owner? ex. parcel table has X records related (fk) with Y contracts not in (2,6): X * SAMPLE records will be randomly exported?
2º- for the tables without relation (fk) and which are within the owner (MYOWNER) the data is exported only based on the parameter SAMPLE?

Hello Sharat,
You have two options of saving data to excel sheet:
Step 1:
Goto RSA3, change the "Data Records / Calls" to 1000 and then execute. This way instead of 10 different packets you will get one packet.
Step2:
Click on the list button, open the packet by double clicking it. You will see all the data on your screen.
Step3:
Goto System -> List -> Save - > Local File -> Spreadsheet and give some name for your xls file.
