How to export old sent mail in my macbook and import it in my Mac?
I want to export my old sent mail in my macbook and import it in my new Mac?
There is a bug when doing “export mailbox” and import mailbox functionality.
Workaround:
> Open Finder and under the “Go” menu, hold down the option key. The “Library” sub-menu will show up.
> Copy the entire “Library > Mail” folder to a USB disk (it will not work if copying to a shared drive for some reason)
> Take the USB disk to the new computer and do an “Import Mailbox” and select the copied Data file. There will be LOTS of folders that come up for import, you can browse through and deselect what you don’t need (e.g. trash or junk mail), OR just import everything and then clean up from your mailbox.
> The imported folders will show up in mail under the “On My Mac” area.

i foolishly upgraded my imac to mavericks. then a few days later when i opened my aperture libraries it asked me if i wanted to update them and that i wouldnt be able to read them in an older version of aperture. i foolishly didnt think much of it because i presumed that i would be able to upgrade my aperture application on my macbook pro. so now my mac book pro is virtually obsolete because it can no longer work on my photo files.
I have since decided that i dont like mavericks because my imac continuously crashes, which it never did before i did the upgrade. so i have decided to
revert back using an old time machine back up. the problem is that the back up that i need to use is over 3 months old because ive been away for 3 months
taking photos and i did the upgrade when i got back home. i have now got 3 months of photos on the new 3.5.1 library that have all been processed, faces locations, edits and filed.
so i now need to export them out then re import them into an old library but i cant seem to export the faces info.
any help would be greatly appreciated.The Aperture "Preferences > Export" pane has an option "Include Faces Information in exported photos".
Have you enabled this option?
If enabling this option does not suffice, you could tag the photos in each "Faces" stack with a unique keyword. Keywords will be exported, and this would help to restore the Faces tags quicker, because you could create smart albums based on the keywords. -

In Mail in Preferences->Accounts->Mailbox Behaviors, in the
Sent preference, do you have "Store sent messages" checked?

The same way you did before, by going to the Sent Mail folder in the Mailboxes list. Other than the overall look, the Mail app hasn't changed substantially in iOS 7.

For that kind of connectivity you need to be using an email account configured either as IMAP or Exchange.
IMAP & Exchange accounts will maintain a sync across all your devices, so if you read / delete a message on your phone, it will disappear from the server as well. This cannot happen in POP email accounts.

Alternatively, if its anything other than Google, you will need to contact your email providor or IT department (if your email address resides with an enterprise environment) to get the correct settings.

How can I use apple mail (linked to gmail) and get it to only do autofill on the contacts that I have in apple address book? Everytime I write an email on the Apple mail app (as well as in Gmail) it recommends a bunch of emails that are not my contacts. Pretty much. I don't understand why you need to worry about MobileMe, though. I'd guess the vast majority of us with iDevices don't have MobileMe accounts at all. That's pretty much why it failed.

Apple has a built-in method for setting up Gmail accounts that makes sure that they are set up properly.
Go to System Preferences under the Apple menu and select Mail, Contacts & Calendars. In the left-hand sidebar select the Add Account… item. In the main window select Gmail. Enter the information in the drop down sheet.

I use aol mail on pcs, MacBooks and the original iPad. All good. No issues for many years. I recently got an iPad third generation with AT&T lte service. Now much of my wife's email displays as garbage when i use the att service. Genius bar guys could not help. They guessed that the garbage being displayed might be HTML code. We all suspect that there might be some problem with the relationship among aol, AT&T (lte) and Apple, but no one knows where or how. My mail servers are set up the same on the old iPad and the new iPad (IMAP and SMTP). Bottom line is: I got the new iPad, and it does not work for my most important app. Wireless works fine.
Any suggestions? The genius bar guys started a trouble ticket.
Many people must be having this problem.I must be part of the "No one" that still uses AOL mail. I still use it (two AOL accounts in fact) and have used it pretty much without issue for years and years.
I have never had an issue with AOL mail on my iPad. I wish that I could say the same for my business Microsoft Exchange account that users swear by. Of the five email accounts that I have, the Exchange account is by far the most unreliable and issue ridden email account that I have.
Even my two Comcast email accounts work far better than my buggy Exchange account. -

Can I just say however that as someone who has posted a first comment here and quite clearly never used a forum like this before, your comment unfortunately comes across as very excluding. It makes me feel there are a set of unwritten rules that I should know, and that I don't know them shows that the forum is not for me. In short, it's exactly the kind of response that stops people like me using forums like this.

The reason I posted here is as follows. I was directed here by the apple support website. The original comment seemed to be the only one I could find which referred to my issue. iCloud doesn't have anything to do with texts or phone calls. Those are both tied to your phone number and SIM, not to an iCloud account.

Welcome to the Apple Support Communities
When you purchase Mountain Lion, you can install it as many times as you want on all your computers for free. To install it on the desktop, open the App Store, go to Purchases tab and download OS X Mountain Lion.
Another option is to redownload it on the MacBook, put the installer onto a USB drive and connect it to the desktop in order to upgrade -

Yes, you can and should. The DVD belong with the MBP. You should use the original DVD to erase the disk and install Snow Leopard prior to sale.
You can't sell it with Lion because it is authorized under your user ID.

I have a hotmail account sync. With my Mail on the Macbook and iPad, everytime I open my mac all emails are transfered from the iPad to the Macbook. Is there a way to keep a copy of the emails on the iPad? Or access them after transfered?

- The iTunes backup that iTunes makes included photos in the camera roll. If yo go to iTunes>Preferences>Devices what is the date of the backup? Is it when the photos were on the iPod? You have to restore from that backup.
- What may have happened is that you backup the iPod after you restored the iPod but before restoring from backup. iTunes only keeps one backup and overwrites the previous backup with the changes.
