How to export / share Metadata Schemas?

The title says it all:
When I create a great custom metadata schema in Premiere Pro that contains all the relevant categories for my project it is all useless to me unless I can share those schemas with my collegues on their computers! Is there any way how I can make my metadata schemas available to them? If yes, will the values I enter into the schema be attached to the media I apply my schema on, so they are available for my collegues as well? Otherwise, there is no point in sharing. It strikes me that there are so many collaboration impeding obstacles with Adobe products like that! Not every project has a commonly used server to work with after all.
Anyway, if there is a work around, I would be happy to learn it.
Thx

Thx for your quick answer! Im using CS6 btw.
Do you suggest that I should copy the folders in:
on Windows: C:\Users\<USERNAME>\AppData\Roaming\Adobe\XMP\Custom File Info Panels\4.0\custom
on Mac: Users/<USERNAME>/Library/Application Support/Adobe/XMP/Custom File Info Panels/4.0/custom
and paste them onto my collegues system?

  • How to export custom metadata fields

How do I export custom metadata fields (or even the DATE) to a text or spreadsheet? Why does Aperture have dozens of metadata choices, but only allows a few to be exported?

You can try Automator which must be installed already in your computer. Create a new workflow, on the left pane select Aperture to see a list of actions, select "get selected items" and "extract metadata", and drag both to the right most pane. there you'll choose the Tag names to extract from the images already selected inside aperture and choose an output method, tabbed text should work fine for a spreadsheet. Hope it works.

  • How to export app +underlying schema(and data)

    Hi
I am trying to export my application and its underlying tables to a new system .
I want to know if it can be done together and not seperately..(export app and then export each table)
Is there away to package the app and its underlying repository?
    Thanks

    No....
You will have to do them seperately as there is no logical connection between the application and the tables.
Your application just has the access to use those tables and does not "own" any of them.
    a) Oracle database tables/ application tables
You can export the entire schema and all the objects and data in that schema using the export and import utilities.
All these objects are owned by the schema (eg. emp under scott) and hence are related logically.
    b) Oracle apex metadata tables.
All the information about apex objects is stored as metadata in database tables (FLOWS_0300 is a schema).
So, if you install Oracle apex on a new machine, all these repository tables will be created.
When you create applications / objects, these tables will have metadata for those applications.
    Hope this helps,
    Rajesh.

  • How to export/import metadata from bw 7.0 to 7.4

    Hi guys!
We want to move from BW 7.0 to BW 7.4 but the scenario we are considering is:
Installation of BW 7.4 in a new server without copying all the models of BW 7.0. At the beginning, we want to copy only a couple of models from 7.0 and keep BW 7.0 as productive server running in paralell.
I saw in a SAP Webinar this scenario is possible if the metadata of the objects are transported from 7.0 to 7.4 but they don´t explain how to do that.
Could you tell me how to copy the model metadata from 7.0 to 7.4?
Any other suggestion? or What is the best way to do that?
    Thanx in advance.
    Jesus Valero

Dinesh, Thank you very much for the answer.
If I'm understanding, what you are suggesting is to connect the transport system between bw 7.0 and bw 7.4 and then copy the objects betwwen bw version?
I'm trying of clarify because my basis team told me that connecting transport system between 7.0 and 7.4 is not possible but I can undestand the basis team answer due to lack of experience.
Or, What you mean is a kind of work around using transport system?
    I really appreciate your help

  • How to export/share what is on the timeline.

I am using: Final cut pro version:10.1.2 (trial version but seems to be the same) and Mac os x 10.9.4.
I got the free final cut pro trial a few days ago. Since I got it, i've been struggling to get my head around the difference between events, projects etc. It's different to the simple 'create movie' on imovie.
I have made many unorganised events and projects so i've hidden them as it didn't allow me to delete some of them. The only video i want to share is on this timeline and when i share it as a master file, the video is fine, but i get the audio on the timeline layered with possibly the audio from another event (which would be the the unedited version of the song I imported).
I'm probably doing something fundamentally wrong, but I haven't been playing around much as i don't want to lose anything.
    Any help would be appreciated.

Events are folders which contain databases and media files  – some of which you import – and other which is generated by FCP (Like render files).
Projects are sets of instructions about how clips and effects are to be assembled and displayed.
Projects live in events. Events live in libraries.
Your audio problem is hard to figure out because you've hidden your clips. (How did you do that?) Furthermore, it's complicated by the fact that you've created a compound clip.
It appears as though you want a simple project with some graphics (stills?) and  music. You don't need a compound for that.
Create a new project. Select all your video clips and copy and paste from the old project to the new one. Do the same for you audio clips.
To get the most out of your trial, I suggest finding a good tutorial to get some training in the fundamentals.

  • How to export PDF metadata

    Hi,
Is there a simple way to extract the PDF metadata ("Title", "Subject", "Author", "Keywords", etc.) from several PDF (no more than 3000 in my case) into a file that could be opened in Excel or Calc ?
I'm using Acrobat XI Pro but I can also use another 3rd party program provided it is free ;-).
My goal is to check the homogeneity of the metadata of a collection of electronic thesis.
Next step could involve batch correction of metadata. I'd be interested to know if Acrobat Pro can handle that too.
Thank you for your help !
    JHM

Accessing the doc.info object is simple enough in a batch script (an Action in Acrobat X and later). The tricky part is in storing the results, as Acrobat doesn't like you writing to generic files on disc.
I've attached a JS file that you run inside an Action. It creates a new blank document, which has an attachment containing the data as a tab-delimited list. Note that if you run the Action repeatedly without closing the blank document, it'll keep adding to the list.
To use it, create a new Action, set the source files to "Ask when Action is Started" and "Don't Save Changes", add a JavaScript step from the More Tools panel, and paste in the contents of the JS file.
You don't say what version of Acrobat you're using, so I can't post a pre-made SEQU file.

  • How do I share all angles of a multicam project versus a single stream

I have a project in which I am trying to demonstrate the impact of diferent filters/settings across 4 cameras.  I have captured and syncronized all four cameras using an audio track.  So far no problem.  I however cannot determine how to export/share the the final project so that all four cameras are seen in a 2x2 setting, very similar to what is seen during the multicam editing process.  I only see how to produce a single stream which allows me to switch/cut between the various angles (if I were so inclined to do so..)
Thank you in advance for the help.

    Hello Tom;
Thank you very much, and yes, I am using Multicam to sync the stream.  Your reply definitly moved the ball down the field.  However, while in the red zone, I have one final problem.
With 4 streams overlayed in a multicam clip, when I attempt to crop or otherwise resize one of the 4 streams, I am not seeing the next stream below.  I suspect this is because I produced the stream as a multicam versus Compound Clip.  Here is a picture of what I am seeing:
Assuming my hunch is correct, I am left with a dilema:  I need to have all four clips syncornized.  Multicam addressed this.  However, I now need to be able to transform/crop the individual clips into 4 concurrent views which I believe can only be accomplished via compound clip.
Any thoughts on how I can achieve my goals?
Also always, think you in advance for the support.

  • How do I migrate metadata from Final Cut Server for use in Premiere?

We're one of many companies looking to move to Premiere Pro from Final Cut.
We have thousands of tagged clips in Final Cut Server and I'm trying to find a way to export all that metadata so it can be used, and searched for, within Premiere Pro.
Does anyone know if/how this could be achieved?
The only thing I've found online that seems to be relevant is this:
    http://www.andre-aulich.de/en/perm/export-asset-metadata-from-final-cut-server-using-built in-tools-only
This seems to explain how to export the metadata (although I don't fully understand it) but not how to make it useful for Premiere.
Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Well... I'm a librarian by training so I use Cat-DV a little differently.
I use it to make a searchable archive of proxy files for entire hard drives.  I hook up a hard drive (say an old external) and point Cat-DV at it.  It makes a catalog (locally) that has all the metadata (most importantly "date created") and a small proxy or thumbnail if it's a still.  Then I unplug the drive, label it and put it on a shelf.  When I need to find something all I have to do is consult the local catalog.  I can search it (if I included any metadata) or, most likely, I'll just scrub around for date created.  Cat-DV will display the exact path to where the asset is.  I can search across multiple catalogs of drives without ever having to plug one in,  Once I find the file I want, I just plug in that drive to retreive the file.
I use it mostly for stills and some b-roll that gets used over and over.  For a variety of reasons, we never opted to make it a full replacement for FC Server.
And another thing... you can do a heck of a lot with the $99 or $300 version.  You don't need to go the full enterprise server route (though you do have to do that to use the server functions).
You might also want to try Adobe Bridge for searching and editing metadata.  In my experience, it's always been slow with video but that may well have changed.  I haven't played with it in a while

  • Exporting/Sharing Custom XMP metadata schema not possible?

I've written a Python script which automatically encodes Quicktime files which I've mastered out of Premiere Pro CC with embedded custom XMP metadata (created using "New Schema" in the Metadata Display panel). I'm using the embedded custom metadata to drive the Python script (e.g. "Spot Title", "Client Name", fields etc etc), which encodes the source QT file to several different formats, based on the delivery specifications of various local TV broadcasters which the encoded files will go to.
Everything about the XMP metadata entry/writing/parsing is fantastic. My only hitch is in the exporting/sharing of the custom metadata schema which I created for this purpose. I would like to roll the schema out to the other editors in our facility, so that they can also enter the XMP metadata on their own systems when they export out master timelines from Premiere.
But unless I'm missing something, I can't figure out a way to "share" or export my custom schema for use on another system. Is this not possible in Premiere Pro CC?

There's no feature for exporting and importing custom schemas, but it's entirely doable. Here are the path to the custom schemas
    MAC: Macintosh HD ▸ Users ▸ <username> ▸ Library ▸ Application Support ▸ Adobe ▸ XMP ▸ Custom File Info Panels ▸ 4.0 ▸ custom
WIN: C:\Users\AppData\Roaming\Adobe\XMP\custom file info panels\4.0\panels [I can't vouch for this path as I'm on Mac at the moment and it's been ages since I poked around for custom schemas, but this should at least be the right neighborhood.]
You might also be interested in sharing your custom metadata display profiles. They in Documents ▸ Adobe ▸ Premiere Pro ▸ 8.0 ▸ Profile-mapes ▸ Metadata Preferences.

It's because the Export Settings to XMP command isn't in Camera Raw Preferences. Export Settings to XMP is in Camera Raw in the unlabeled menu that the Adobe help file calls the "Camera Raw settings menu." You can export the data for multiple images at once if you select multiple images before opening Camera Raw, click the Select All button in Camera Raw, and then choose Export Settings to XMP.

  • How to export a schema and import the schema to a different schema name

I am using Oracle9i Oracle Enterprise Manager Console.
I can export the HR to a dmp file.
I have created another user call MYHR and I would like to import hr.dmp to the new user.
    1. How can I add a schema using OEM?
I can do it by creating a table in MYHR and refresh OEM.
    2. How can I import HR.dmp to MYHR using OEM.
I can import it using command line:
    imp user/password@connectstring file='c:\hr.dmp' full='Y'
    Any hints are appreciated

    Hi,
    1.
You don't have to create a schema explictly.
Say you create a user u1. Now this user u1 create some object s, then the schema u1 is automatically created.
Schema is actually a logical collection of objects.
    2.
Why using OEM for importing. Using the command is much more easier.
Your command is bit incorrect. Don't use full=y to import a schema.
    Use ; imp userid=user/password@connect_string file=filename fromuser=HR touser=MYHR
Better add "log=some text file". Then use can see the log also.
    Regards.
