How to export to adhoc query to Excel
I am trying to export a list of bank account into excel through Adhoc query, when I go to List >> Export >> Spreadsheet, there is only Xml format for me to choose. However, my colleague has the option to choose excel. Is this Windows setting or SAP setting?
Found the solution.

Here we can select the default application for either global or user specific.

How to export the dashboard reports for Excel in OBIEE 11.1.1.6.0?
Hi Experts,
How to export the dashboard reports for Excel in OBIEE 11.1.1.6.0?
For example:
Dashboard contains more than one report, and add one export button for downloading these reports for Excel.
Is it possible to implement this requirement? Thanks. There is no direct option, you can try the following workaround.
Page Option -> Print -> Printable Html
Then File -> Save Page as
Choos Save as type as -> All files
File name as Report.xls
When you Open the xls file, if you get a pop up saying problem during load just omit it and proceed.
The report will open in excel.
Or save the page as html /mht and open it with Excel, this also will work.
Note: I have tested this in Mozilla
Thanks,

How to Export from table view to Excel (not BI query)?
There is a 'How to' document explaining how to export from an iView using a BI query:
https://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/servlet/prt/portal/prtroot/docs/library/uuid/47fe4fef-0d01-0010-6f87-ed8ecb479123
However:
This 'How-To' document is using an example of a BEx query. I am not using a BEx query, therefore I do not have an "Info port". How can I download to Excel from a table view that is not an iView of a BI query? (It is just a internal table coming from a BAPI).keenneth,
i am using the query from SQL server, i am having the same problem of not having info port. so did you find a work around for exporting to excel with filters for non sap queries ?
any body who had come across this situation , plz guide me.

How to export the data to a excel file from RSA3?
Hi experts,
1.I am trying to save the RSA (SRM extractor) to excel spread sheet to compare SRM data with BI data. When i run the the transaction RSA3 it just showed me 10 different data packets. How to export the data to excel spread sheet for reconciliation?
2. Does any body know if the stepup tables exist for SRM extractors?
Thank in advance
Sharat.Hello Sharat,
You have two options of saving data to excel sheet:
Step 1:
Goto RSA3, change the "Data Records / Calls" to 1000 and then execute. This way instead of 10 different packets you will get one packet.
Step2:
Click on the list button, open the packet by double clicking it. You will see all the data on your screen.
Step3:
Goto System -> List -> Save - > Local File -> Spreadsheet and give some name for your xls file.
Assign points if helpful.

How to Export Table Data to a excel sheet using OPENROWSET
Hi Team,
I would like to Export table data to a excel sheet by using "OPENROWSET" command in SQL Server but I am getting the
below error message
Column name or number of supplied values does not match table definition.
Please help me on how to export the table data to an excel sheet by using "OPENROWSET" in SQL ServerI know this is old so I assume you've fixed this. However, for anyone else looking at this forum, I'd recommend using a union or a table join.
Select a.1, a.2, a.3 from a <where clause>
union
Select b.1, b.2, b.3 from b <where clause>
or
use a type of join.
If both table selects return the same number of columns but different data just reference them as a variable like fred, and Ted
Select fred.1, fred.2, fred.3 from (Select a.1, a.2, a.3 from a) fred
union
Select Ted.1, Ted.2, Ted.3 from (Select b.1, b.2, b.3 from b) Ted
or again some type of join of these two sets
Select * from
(Select a.1, a.2, a.3 from a) a
INNER JOIN (Select b.1, b.2, b.3 from b) b ON b.1 = a.1
This would give you 6 columns of data a1-3, and b1-3
We don't know from your description what format your spreadsheet is in. These just give you the idea. Think of the sub-selects as a Table. It's just named "fred". Once your select holds all the data you need, then export the data to the spreadsheet. Use
the horsepower of the database before trying to do a multple update of the same spreadsheet.
Does this give you enough to fix what you were trying to do? -
How to export data from webdynpro to Excel and start a Excel macro
Hello All
I want to export data displayed in the Web dynpro ALV into Excel. I have tried the ALV export function but my problem with it is when it does export to excel the data loses formatting and I have long text in columns which display with wrapping in ALV but when exported to excel it loses formatting.
So I want to define a custom button and when user presses on this button the excel export is called with a macro. Can you kindly share ideas how I can do this from a webdynpro.
Thanks
KarenHi friends!
I have followed the following:
http://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/scn/weblogs;jsessionid=(J2EE3417300)ID1487994050DB10407586481486749551End?blog=/pub/wlg/5522
...in order to create standard ALV with Export to Excel.
However what is exported into excel is awful. It does not contain my data in nice columns... Instead it shows a lot of meta-data.
Please let me know what to do to kick the standard Export button in the correct direction.. that is...to have my nice table in same way in Excel, because that is my intention with "Export to excel"
Best reg

How to Export Quote from PDF to Excel OR Print Quote in Excel?
Hello,
I have a requirement where in I need to Print my quote in Excel output(Right now I am getting a PDF output)
Any information on the same would be a great help. I am workn on 11.5.10 instance.
Regards,
AjitThe standard way of implementing this requirement is via xml publisher reports. You can build a concurrent program which takes some parameters and generate a pdf/excel report. You can call this concurrent program from ur OAF page.If you are not sure how to submit concurrent request via OAF refer to dev guide, this has been explained with sample code.
On the other note if u just want csv file, which can opened in a excel, you can print the quote on OAF page using advanced table bean and use export feature. This is explained in Advanced table section in dev guide.

How to export the sql output to Excel?
I installed Raptor on my system. I ran few reports and trying to figure out how to save the reprots to excel srpeasheet format. I just see 'save' but not sure where the output is saved and with what filename. Saveas is grayed out all the time.
Unfortunately, there are some things that Excel gets confused going through CSV files (or copy and pate). For example, our task number structure within Oracle Projects is to name each task with the super-task number "-" sub task number (10, 10-1, 10-2, 10-3, etc). As soon as you are not directly creating the Excel file, Excel will interpret the "10-1", "10-2", etc as dates - 10-Jan, 10-Feb for our date format and presumably 1-Oct, 2-Oct for US date format.
I have just tested exporting the data to CSV and then opening in Excel and also selecting all data, copying and pasting into Excel and both convert "10-1" to 10-Jan (assumes current year).
You get similar issues with text columns that contain only numeric values (for example our employee numbers are stored in a text field, but are numeric and left passed with zeros to ensure consistent length), or a mixture of numeric values and alpha-numeric values. -

Hi,

Hi,
Our application using in English, German, Franch and chinese. You have several different idioms in your application and have not accurately identified where the actual problem is. You have all of the following
-database
-http
-excel
-excel in http
-display on the target computer
The first step with these sorts of problem is to identify where the problem actually occurs.
String chineseCharacter=""; // chineseCharacter like 長长牀床東东彿佛. This chinese data coming from oracle database..A good theory. Now explain how you proved that that is what is coming from the database.
After export the data to excel show the result for é·é¿çåºæ±ä¸å½¿ä½.As another example. Presumably you are referring to what the browser on the target computer displays. Your theory is that that computer and that browser (together) will display the correct information if they had the correct data. How did you prove that? -

How to export an archive query?
Hi,
I created an archive and I did a bunch of account mapping in my DEV, I was wondering if there's a way to run this same archive (import/export) query in my other system so i don't have to do all that mapping again there?, is this possible? (the content is different so im not exporting content, i just want the whole archive mapping I did and the options i checked to be run the same way in other system).
Thanks!Hi
I think that under the <CS home>/archives/collections there is a file collections.hda / archives.hda and if you open that it should be having the export query that you have set from the applet. Check that out and if that is the one then you can just copy it to the target location and get it working.
I will check from my instances as well and give you the exact we can get this done.
Thanks

How to export an array to an excel-sheet
Hallo,
does somebody knows how i can write an String[][]-Array in an simple Excel-Table, or knows someone a source where i can find information about the xls-fileformat?POI has, however, a programming interface. Relying on the file format alone, you are reinventing the wheel.
In a production environment I use the comma-separated-value file format to "mock" Excel files and this works.
Good luck anyway! -

Please guide meYou can actually run an Excel Macro to grab the data from the SQL Server DB. Below are some samples.

' In VBE you need to go Tools References and check Microsoft Active X Data Objects 2.x library

strConn = strConn & "Initial Catalog=Northwind;"
strConn = strConn & "Integrated Security=SSPI;"
con.Open strConn
'Put a country name in Cell E1
Set rst = con.Execute("Exec dbo.TestNewProc '" & ActiveSheet.Range("E1").Text & "'")
'The total count of records is returned to Cell A5
ActiveSheet.Range("A5").CopyFromRecordset rst
rst.Close
con.Close
End Sub
Sub Working()
'USE [Northwind]
'GO
'DECLARE @return_value int
'EXEC @return_value = [dbo].[Ten Most Expensive Products]
'SELECT 'Return Value' = @return_value
'GO
Dim con As Connection
Dim rst As Recordset
Set con = New Connection
con.Open "Provider=SQLOLEDB;Data Source=LAPTOP\SQL_EXPRESS;Initial Catalog=Northwind;Integrated Security=SSPI;"
Set rst = con.Execute("Exec dbo.[Ten Most Expensive Products]")

ActiveSheet.Range("A1").CopyFromRecordset rst
rst.Close
con.Close
End Sub
