How to Extend Render Preview?

Hi all,
I have AECS3 Pro. When I press the 0 for render preview of my work (only still images and audio), AE only previews for 12 seconds, yet my project lasts for 30 seconds. When I press the space bar to play through the timeline, I let in run for say for 25 seconds, I then go into render preview and the render green line at the top of the time line shrinks either side until it can only play 12 seconds of my project.
What am I doing wrong?

You're running out of RAM.
Read up on RAM Previews in the help files to find out more info.
Some solutions would be:
Install more RAM
Lower the comp resolution
Shorten your work area to preview smaller chunks at a time
Quit other open applications
Preview only a region of your comp
Adjust your memory preferences for longer previews

Extending Render preview in After Effects CC

I have a brand new iMac 27". I've googled to the best of my ability how to extend the render preview. Enabling cache has done nothing. changing the resolution as done nothng. Reducing the quality of the preview has done nothing, in fact it doesn't matter if it's full quality. It stops rendering the preview 100 frames into a 60 second comp. Any help is greatly apreciated.

FAQ: Why do I have a red or yellow bar over my sequence, and how do I render previews?

The first thing to know is that a yellow bar isn't a sign of a problem (nor is a red bar, necessarily).

Here's the summary:
green: This segment of the sequence has a rendered preview file associated with it. Playback will play using the rendered preview file. Playback at full quality is certain to be in real time.
yellow: This segment of the sequence does not have a rendered preview file associated with it. Playback will play by rendering each frame just before the CTI reaches it. Playback at full quality will probably be in real time (but it might not be).
red: This segment of the sequence does not have a rendered preview file associated with it. Playback will play by rendering each frame just before the CTI reaches it. Playback at full quality will probably not be in real time (but it might be).
none: This segment of the sequence does not have a rendered preview file associated with it, but the codec of the source media is simple enough that it can essentially be treated as its own preview file. Playback will play directly from the original source media file. Playback at full quality is certain to be in real time. This only occurs for a few codecs (including DV and DVCPRO).
Note the uses of the word probably above. The colors aren’t a promise. They’re a guess based on some rather simple criteria. If you have a fast computer, then a lot of things marked with red may play back in real time; if you have a slow computer, then some things marked with yellow may need to be rendered to preview files before the segment can be played in real time.

This is not the work of a virus, or any other kind of malware. What it sounds like is a very badly corrupt hard drive causing all manner of corruption in your various system components and applications. You probably need to erase your hard drive and reinstall the system from scratch, as ds store has said.
If you actually had malware, Sophos would find it. If Sophos found nothing, there was almost certainly nothing to find. If something like Sophos ever should find malware, unless the malware has "OSX" or "MacOS" in the name, it probably isn't Mac malware and thus isn't something you need to worry about (other than not passing it on to other people).

How do I render DSLR video in preview in premier elements 12?

I have tried many things to get avc1 h.264 video to render in preview and play smooth, but nothing works.
the video was shot with a canon dslr eos 70d at 1920 X 1080 at 29.97 frames per second.
aspect ratio 16:9.
I have changed settings in file, new to dslr 1080 accordingly,but nothing changes.
How can I work with this video?
All other video formats render previews just fine.

I check the specifications for the Canon 70D. I am 99.999% sure that you are shooting 1080p30.
So your project preset should be
NTSC
DSLR
1080p
DSLR 1080p30 or DSLR 1080p30 @29.97 (use the latter if you are sure about the 29.97 progressive frames per second).
Set the project preset manually before you import your video. To do that, File Menu/New/Project, set the project preset, exit the new project dialog after you put a check mark next to "Force Selected Project Setting on This Project". Then import your video and determine if there is no colored line, green line, or orange line over the Timeline content for that video. If the project preset is a match, we would expect to see "no colored line".
Specifically what is the video doing in the preview that is problematic.
I have something for you to try...right click the video on the Timeline (no color line)...select Time Stretch and set the Speed % to 99. You will then get an orange line over the video on the Timeline. Now render the Timeline content to turn the orange line to green. Is the playback of the video in the Edit mode monitor now better, the same, or worse?
Now, I want you to export that Timeline content to Publish+Share/Computer/AVCHD with preset = MP4 H.264 1920 x 1080 p30. What does the playback of that export look like in your computer player?

Safari 4 Bookmark Organisation? Render Previews of Bookmarks How?

I have hundreds of bookmark that have been imported from firefox. I would like to organise them and the coverflow feature would save me continuously opening the webpage just to see what it is. Could someone please tell me how can I render previous of all bookmarks?
PS Does anyone also know the best workflow to organise the bookmarks?

Thanks for your help! In reviewing the Bookmarks further, it appears that my Bookmark Folders were scrambled, instead of being deleted. Over the past several years, I have created a 100+ Bookmark Folders with multiple Bookmarks within each Folder, so scrambling the folders is a setback, and annoying, but at least most seem to be someplace in the scramble. If we had a means of re-ordering the bookmark folders, alphabatically or historically, that would be helpful. We have a "Search" ability, but no other control over the Bookmark Folders at this point.

Using smart previews on iMac to control two sets of identical original files on two external drives --- render previews setting when using smart previews

I’m just getting started with Lightroom and if someone can help me I’ll be very appreciative.
I’m using an iMac with a 1TB drive and two external 2.5 TB drives for backup. My active files are on all three drives and I’m running out of room on the iMac drive.
With the smart previews capability of Lightroom 5, I’m hoping to remove all the active files from the iMac drive. I hope to import existing images into the LR catalog from two identical drives with identical folders and have both sets of images reflect the changes I make using smart previews on my iMac.
I just created two identical test folders of junk images on the external drives and was following a beginners tutorial on importing. However, I see nothing about using smart previews on my iMac that, when connected, will update more than one external drive at the same time.
I’m also wondering if, when using smart previews, it matters how I set the render previews during the import process.

I don't see any way to use smart previews to update both external drives at the same time. The smart previews are linked to a specific set of images. But it seems to me that if both drives are in fact identical, once the catalog is updated when one of those drives is connected those changes should also apply to the files on the other drive. It's actually the catalog that gets updated, not the images. Smart previews and regular import previews are completely unrelated. How you have your import previews configured will have no effect on your smart previews.
Incidentally, in order for my suggestion to work it would be necessary to only have one of those external drives connected. And when the other EHD is connected it would have to have the same drive letter or name. In other words it would have to appear to the iMac that it is precisely the same drive.

After upgrading to Premiere Pro CC 2014, I can't change the render preview location

Ever since I downloaded Premiere Pro CC 2014, I cannot re-route my render preview files. I have two internal hard drives and I need the files to go to my secondary one. With CC, it did this just fine, but since I've upgraded to 2014, it will not do it. I've set it the same way I did before in Preferences/Media, then set the Media Cache Files and Media Cache Database to the new hard drive. It's eating all my hard drive space and I cannot render or export a large sequence. Is there a trick to this I'm missing that has changed?

Thanks Neil! I'm actually wondering how to change where the preview files go. I've attached two screen grabs. Right now my media cache is going to my SATA drive (my smaller of my two internal hard drives and the drive where Premiere Pro is located.) I want to re-route my render files to go to my Macintosh HD drive which is much larger and gives me more breathing room. I could do that before but since I've upgraded to 2014, even though I have it set in preferences, it STILL goes to my SATA drive. So annoying! I'm wondering if I'm doing something wrong or if it's a bug. I'm still running Mountain Lion (getting ready to finally upgrade, I've just been needing to backup my computer), could this be the reason? Any ideas? Thanks so much for the help!

Lightroom constantly re-render previews

I know it sounds strange, but the problem is:
Anytime Lightroom opens the catalog, it renders previews. No matter they're already rendered in a previous run. Close Lightroom, open it again and it will forget any previous renders.
It related to standard-sized and 1:1 previews.
LR 2.3 and 2.4, OS Windows XP x64 and Vista x64.
I have been trying everything. Changing the disk for catalog and sources, changing permissions for folders, reinstalling LR and Windows, running Windows in Safe Mode — nothing works.
So the question is: how to fix LR and force it to build preview only once?
p.s. After initial import the catalog file size don't changed even during preview rendering. And the same for Previews.lrdata folder.

Catalog sizes are from 300-400 images (typical) to 15000 images (recent case). But I'm trying to split photos into manageable pieces with not more than 300 photos in directory.
File types are mostly DNG (v5.4 and less), CR2 (Canon 20D, 40D and 50D), JPG, few TIFFs and PSDs. The problem persists for any type of file.

Yes, all of mentioned above and of course the big writtings «Rendering preview…» and «Rendereng larger preview…» over the image in Loupe mode with color change afterwards.

Premiere Pro "3 frame" render preview glitch

When I create a render preview in Premiere Pro, sometimes the render preview renders the same frame for three consecutive frames. In other words, after the render preview is complete, the render preview creates three consecutive frames that are the same, and then moves on to the fourth frame. It looks like a jump cut where there is none. this costs me a lot of time, since to fix it I have to unrender and then rerender my render preview.
How can I avoid this problem?

Have any solutions been found for the intermittent lost render/preview files when opening a large file? I have Premiere CS6. A large project file that I have been working on lately opened without a hitch with previews intact ...until I bought new faster hard drives and rebuilt the computer (built with the same drive letters). I just installed the latest updates. When I now open this file, a segment of the sequence always opens without previews, unrendered, no matter how many times I rendered the file previously. I don't use 3rd party plugins. I am using the warp stabilizer. I tried all the suggestions that I have found on the forums (using a blank sequence to close and open, unchecking “write XMD…” etc.) but none work. I checked the render/preview drive, and these files are on that drive but they will no longer link to the project. It now takes a good 15 minutes to re-render every time I open.

I may have found a solution. I took out the warp stabilizer, and then added it back in on the clips in question, and then re-analysed and re-rendered. So far, so good. It seems that bringing in the warp stabilizer effect in the file into the re-built computer needed re-analysing (as I do after this 2 day exercise.)

raw - it's only the "text" attribute that's raw. (It seems strange because

How To Extend Adobe Audition CS5.5

Adding Audio Unit Plug-Ins (Mac OSX)
Same as Above.   Note that OSX ships with some built-in AU plug-ins that Audition can utilize for free if you just scan at least once. Adding more import formats via libsndfile
libsndfile is an open-source C library for reading and writing audio files (http://www.mega-nerd.com/libsndfile/)   Ambitious people could download the source, write support for another format, and create their own custom-rolled library of libsndfile. You would then replace the version of libsndfile with which Audition CS5.5 ships, with the one you rolled.   Due to the way we use libsndfile, any format you add would show up in Audition.   This is also true if there's an official update to libsndfile that comes out in the future, you could just plop it in and it should work.
If you're interested in exporting or writing formats that libnsdfile supports, please tell us which formats are the most important to you and in what way you use them in your workflow.
Adding more import formats via QuickTime components
QuickTime has the ability to be extended via QuickTime Components.   There's several examples out there, but here are some websites to check out:

In most cases, just adding the various QuickTime components will automatically add the import functionality to Audition.

At this time, we haven't released an SDK for Audition.   If you're interested in one, however, please tell us what you would want from an SDK for Audition and we'll take it into consideration.

could you please also advise what PC users can do to make common avi files useable in AA CS5.5? The obvious problem is, no matter how many exotic video formats a PC can play by way of video-for-windows codecs, these are useless for Quicktime, because Quicktime on the PC needs codecs specifically written for "Quicktime for Windows", which are, as I've come to find, EXTREMELY rare. So far I've only found ONE, sold by 3ivx, but this costs as much as the AA CS5.5 update itself. Without them, Quicktime on the PC will only handle mov files, which are not too popular on the PC. Is there any other way out of this?

Preivew keeps saving different copies of a pdf I am working on (highlighting/annotating), and I now only have 1GB left on my harddrive (had 180GB left).

If you are using Safari, look at Safari > Preferences > General and make sure 'Open "safe" files after downloading' is not checked. Other browsers should have a similar setting in their preferences.

How to extend an address of a BP with more fields ???? EEWB??

Hi Gurus,
I need to extend the address of a BP with some customer fields. I have tried to do it using EEWB but when you have to choose a Business Object for the new extension, the reasonable only possibility is to choose BUPA Object. Thus, the DB table BUT000 is extended with a custom include that contains the customer fields, but what I want to do is extending ADRC DB table. There is some way that I do not know of achieve this in which the system creates automatically all the FM for the BDT events????
If it is not possible, which would be the procedure to do that with my own development???
