How to extend the power cord of MacBook?

I know its a very silly question...!
but i don't know where to connect the the power cord extension on the power adapter...

Disconnect the adaptor from the wall and the MacBook. Hold the adaptor in your left hand so that the cord going to the MacBook is on the left, and the power prongs are on the TOP right. Grasp the white plastic holding the prongs with the thumb and fingers of the right hand. Hold the whole adaptor flat and horizontal. Using the right hand, slide the prongs section horizontally AWAY from you. The prong section should just slide off. The power cord can then be fitted to replace the prongs by reversing the process.

I have tried installing a disc to try and reinstall the operating system.
Disconnect all peripherals from your computer. Boot from your install disc & run Repair Disk from the utility menu. To use the Install Mac OS X disc, insert the disc, and restart your computer while holding down the C key as it starts up.
Select your language.
Once on the desktop, select Utility in the menu bar.
Select Disk Utility.
Select the disk or volume in the list of disks and volumes, and then click First Aid.
Click Repair Disk.
Restart your computer when done.

my battery was dying after a few minutes so I was trying to kill the battery and recharge it to see if I couldn't get it back to a full charge.

Hi,
I bought a Macbook Pro last February, and this is the first time this issue has occurred. My computer has been working fine, but this morning the battery icon is showing a big "X" through it, and when I unplug my power cord, the computer shuts off. Also, the power cord light is green, which I take to mean that it can't be charged anymore. How can I fix this?
Thanks!!I had similar issue with one of the macbooks in the office. Make sure you've got latest firmware installed (run Software Update). This resolved the issue for us instantly (you may need to reboot mac AFTER firmware upgrade for this to work).

Macbook pro turns off when taken off the power-cord, is the battery bad?
For a while my MCP when I take it off the charger it doesnt hold the whole time as it should and the battery doesnt last long, and now the past couple days when i take my laptop off the power-cord it will stay on for five minutes then shut down. I dont know what is going on, maybe a bad battery? I got my computer august 2006 . These are my numbers.

thanks!If your MacBook Pro is a core duo model you may have a bad battery and be elgible for a battery replacement. The batteries on the original core duo MacBook and MacBook Pro had the warranty extended and extra year. The details are in this link.

Running an old MacBook Pro 2.5ghz core 2 Duo. Battery went chemical meltdown and expanded out of its housing. Removed it and was running off the power cord. This worked for a while. Now it won't start up. Have a Replacement on order. Is there a bigger issue or does a battery need to be in the compartment to boot up? Appreciate any help. Thanks.

My macbook pro has been shutting off on its own. The power cord "shuts off" (does not work) simultaneously. Does anyone know what is wrong? or what could be the problem?

Can you charge a macbook by any other means than the power cord? For example the usb drive? My cord works fine but the outlet on the laptop is not.

MacBook Pro just shut down without notice. It had about 40% of the battery life. It will not turn back on and I noticed when plugged in the little light on the power cord is blinking orange, not a solid green like normal. Anyone have this issue before? I've only had this for about 3mos. I called apple support. They tried one thing then said I have to take to the apple store. Unfortunately I don't have one nearby. So before I travel an hour+ away I thought is give it a shot on here. Thank.

If you are not sure, click the Apple icon in the upper left corner of the screen, then click About This Mac, and post back with the OS X Version number that you see there.

I am fortunate enough to have a macbook air, a macbook pro, and a macbook at my house. Sometimes the power cords get mixed up. What are the consequences of using the lower wattage macbook air power cord with the macbook pro and vise versa?
PaulIt will work but it isn't recommended. The PSU of the MBA will be charged for the maximum amount of power it can deliver so it might break sooner than normal, but I doubt you'll ever notice it if you're not doing this on a daily basis. It might also be possible that your MBP will not charge (as fast) from the MBA PSU.
The other way around is no problem since the device will only ask as much power from the PSU as is needed. -

The power cord keeps falling of my MacBook Pro?
I love my new MacBook Pro but the power cord keeps falling off and it's driving me a little crazy. It's already been replaced once so that's not the problem. If anyone has any suggestions, besides duct tape, please let me know?
Denise, the new magsafe 2 has a weaker neodymium magnet, its designed that way.
formerly too many people in coffee shops etc etc were getting their macbooks yanked to the floor on accident.
Its new design is weaker for good reason.
if it keeps coming loose youre using if your lap or in bed,...sitting on a flat surface that woudlnt happen. -
Macbook air works only when connected to the power cord. Battery condition: replace now.

I used Cmd +Q to close a programme and the screen went blank and even tho the power cord is attached the macbook is not powering up any ideas
