How to external link to many keynotes presentation on ipad.

Hi, I have 100 keynotes presentation on iPad.
When I meet my customers and teach them, I would like to show them an overview (like a mindmap) then I would click on a link that open keynote and selected a presentation. After showing them the content I would like go back to the overview an so on.
Is there a method or an app that can do this?

This cant be done in Keynote, linking to other Keynote presentations and to other aplications are deliberatly disabled. Read up on Apples iBook Athor to see if it can do this, its free.

Yes use Quicktime. Try to create a presentation that uses a widescreen aspect 1280 x 720 would be good, then export it at full quality which should give you a movie of 720p at 24 fps and should be just fine for the tv, if you have any problems with exporting it this way, you could try manual settings or simply run the export you made at full quality through itunes using advanced/create an Apple tv version.

Hi Pierrot10,
Insert your backup disc (or plug your external hd), then open Mail.
In the File menu, click *Import Mailboxes* and follow the steps for a *Mail for Mac OS X* transfer.
Navigate to your CD/DVD's or external HD's backup and hit "OK".
This should create a new "Imported" folder in Mail with all your old messages in it, that you can then rearrange as you wish, creating new mailboxes etc.

How can I launch an external app from a keynote presentation?

I'm trying to launch a Prezi presentation ("Prezi.app") from a keynote presentation, but don't know how to do it.
Links in keynote can only refer to websites or slides within the presentation, but not to start another App, like in - I hate to say it - Powerpoint.
Any ideas?

Keynote is specifically prevented from opening applications.
In Keynote 09 (the previous version), hyperlinks can:
Jump to a slide in the same presentation
Open a webpage in the computer’s default web browser
Open another Keynote document
Open an email message
Exit the slideshow
in Keynote 6 (the latest version) hyperlinks can:
Jump to a Slide in the same presentation
Web page
Mail opens a pre-addressed email message
Exit the presentation

Hi, how can I embed music in a keynote presentation ? Also, is there a way that a keynote presentation gets in full screen mode automatically when being opened ?

You can have music play in the background by dragging an audio file into the soundtrack well of the Document > Audio Inspector. Note: this audio file will play across many slides and only one file can be used.
If you want music to play on a particular slide, drag the audio file directly to the slide and set it to start in the Build Inspector > Build In > Start Movie. Audio files placed on a slide will play in the order you specify in the Build Inspector, but will not play once the slide transitions to the next slide.
If you have music that you want to play on only a few slides and then different music on another group of slides, you will have to break the presentation into smaller parts and hyperlink from the end of one slide file to the beginning of the next. In each smaller presentation, add the audio to the Soundtrack well.
See your Keynote '09 User Guide for details on hyperlinks.
As to going to full screen on opening, go to the Document Inspector > Document and check "Automatically play upon open"

Hyperlink to external slide in a Keynote presentation

Am I right in thinking Apple has removed the ability to make hyperlinks to slides in other Keynote presentaions in Keynote 6.0?
Many of my presentations are linked together using this method, and I cannot use the hyperlinks I made, after upgrading to Keynote 6.0.
Also, is there a way of using the the 'Link to Web Page' hyperlink setup to link to a file, i.e. file://name_of_file.key:slide_number... or something similar?

Sadly, you are correct. Apple, for some strange reason, has taken out hyperlinks between Keynote presentations in 6.0. Until they change that (which they are idiots if they don't) I won't be using 6.0 because I must hyperlink many of my presentations (mainly because the way Keynote handles music is trash).

Linking automatically between Keynote presentations

I understand how to create and click a hyperlink to launch another Keynote presentation, but how do I get the link to trigger automatically at the end of one presentation so that it goes seamlessly into the next presentation. I have several presentations I want to daisy-chain because putting them all into one document would be too large. Thanks.

Seems there is no easy solution. The resolution of the video output isn't high enough, which means I'll need to start with a larger output resolution. That would bring the video up to probably half a GB in size... way too large to share via the Internet. And though Automator will daisy chain .mov files (though there is a rough transition between them) to play in sequence, it won't daisy chain Keynote files. And the rough transition between .mov files makes me believe that even it this did work for Keynote through a script activating hyperlinks, it would not be a seamless transition.
So we'll just mark this one as a good feature to include in Keynote 10 and I'll just have to deal with editing all the slides in one big file. Thanks for your suggestions, gbdoc

How do I give a large Keynote presentation from my new iPad?

Currently using a MacBook Pro. Trying very hard to pursue a seamless transition to using a Gen 2 iPad.
I can use iWork for the documents and can access photos and video off of the cloud. This one issue does seem to be stopping me. I frequently give a Keynote presentation that uses a series of video clips. These clips range from 14 seconds to 5 minutes in length.
I doubt I can even fit this amount of media onto my iPad. It does not seem possible to acess an external HD to use to feed the Keynote presentation to a projector or large monitor. Will this one issue stop me from transitioning to an iPad as my work device of choice?

I have made a club directory of members pictures and addresses. Each page of the keynotes presentation is about each club member. I sent this to all with
i Works through the share prompt. All pc and mac users are able to view and make comments. When I make changes and share the update, i work asks if I want to delete original presentation and use the new one. I say yes. My viewers are not able to open the update as i work says it does not exist. I then share the same presentation and change the name to something different like Feb. 4 directory update. Viewers are able to download it. I am not sure what I am doing. Can you help?

Adding video to a Keynote presentation on iPad

Since the IOS 8 update I have not been able to find my videos to add to a presentation. Before the update all videos were in the 'media' section of Keynote app but now it just shows 'Photos'. The 'Video' file is synced in the same file as all the photos but all videos now go directly into the separate Video app under the 'Movies' category that can not be found by the Keynote app.
I am able to copy and paste any videos I have used on previous presentations but not all videos I want to use are available on past presentations but this is a workaround if a video has been used before.
Anyone that is kind enough to offer advise please bare in mind that this was not an issue before the update (just trying to save anyone taking the time to explain how it used to work before the update )

I've been following this discussion and have 2 questions and a suggestion.
Question 1: I have not found any way to select a music or sound file of any kind when putting together a Keynote presention on my iPad. Inserting a media object seens ti only allow videos and still images. I don't have a Mac so going that route won't work for me.
Suggestion: I have, however, found a way to insert audio clips. On my Windows machine I create a movie with the soundtrack of the audio clip that I want, and then load a still image into the video track, to play the same amount of time as the audio track. Save it as an MP4 movie file and transfer that (via a WiFi app) to the iPad. I can then select that "video" to play on a Keynote slide. This leads me to....
Question 2: Is there any way to have multipe videos on a single slide that you can play one at a time, in any order. it wseems when I try this, that when touch a playing video to stop it, another of the other videos stop, etc. Any way to pause a video an stay on the same slide?

How do I access a Keynote presentation on my iPad that I created on my MAC and saved into iCloud?

Go to Settings>iCloud>Documents & Data and make sure it's turned on, and that Keynote is turned on there as well. Then go to Settings>Keynote and make sure Use iCloud is turned on. Then you should be able to see your iCloud Keynote documents when you launch the app.
