How to extract a file from a file (not application) package?
Hi folks, I'm trying to access directly the document.xml file that sits inside a MindManager file, to parse the XML and read information that has been added to a mind map but which does not get exported by this application's standard export options.
Opening the file with Text Wrangler reveals an internal 'package' structure within the file - including a Document.xml file. However, OSX seems to treat these 'packages posing as files' differently to 'packages posing as applications', where in Finder it's possible to Show Package Content, and files can be accessed directly.
Maybe there is a way to either change the way OSX manages these files within files - or just access this file to copy it or its contents out into a separate plain text file?
Any ideas much appreciated.
Best,
Keith..
Thanks ds store - a good point regarding Pacifist.
Sorry, I should have mentioned that I already have Pacifist - I used it to prove to myself that these files were indeed packages when I saw the structure in Text Wrangler's Disk Browser. It does reveal the contents of MindManager files with its open package option and so, yes, I could use Pacifist to copy out the XML file.
However, I need to track changes in several target files, so I really need direct access to the xml files (or their text content) to automate the process - so I was hoping to simply enable the Finder's Show Package Contents option for this type of file.
Automation with Pacifist would require writing Apple Scripts and/or Automator and if I'm going to take that approach, I may as well control Text Wrangler to extract the XML text from inside each xml file, rather than work at the xml file level.
Best,
Keith..

How to extract binary data from a File?
Hello there!
Hope I'm right here.
I have a slight problem with a file containing text- and binary-data. At the beginning of the file is only some text followed by some html-code and at the end is some binary stuff like a pdf oder an image (jpg/gif).
My problem is now how to split these parts and save them in the suitable format. The text and the html are no problem, but I don't know how to extract the binary data. I tried it out with an Inputstream, but I don't know how to find the exact position where the binary data begins.
Anyone have an idea how I can solve this?
Thanks in advance and sorry for my bad english.I don't believe a bullet-proof solution exists.
If you know where the HTML ends, you may skip whitespace and then assume the rest is binary data. Or, if you know the first bytes of the binary data, you may locate those. With either of these solutions, though, you risk coming across a file where it doesn't work as expected, for example if the first byte of the binary data happens to match a whitespace character. -
How to extract the image from pdf file
Hai friends........
Is it possible to extract the images in a page from pdf file.
If so. please share with me.......
Thanks in advance,
abuIn later versions of Acrobat you can select an Image with the Select tool, then right-hand click for Save options.
------------->
It helps if you quote your exact version of Adobe Acrobat/Reader - choose [Help, About...] to find this.
Also useful: Version numbers of other software (e.g. Word) if relevant. Age of computer and amount of memory (RAM) available (r/h cllcking on 'My Computer' and choosing Properties gives you this, plus processor speed). -

Hi,
I consider that you can try to use xperf to collect the trace etl file and see if it can be extracted on this computer:
Refer to following articles:

Use LINQ to extract the data from a file...
Hi,
I have created a Subprocedure CreateEventList
which populates an EventsComboBox
with a current day's events (if any).
I need to store the events in a generic List communityEvents
which is a collection of
communityEvent
objects. This List needs to be created and assigned to the instance variable
communityEvents.
This method should call helper method ExtractData
which will use LINQ to extract the data from my file.
The specified day is the date selected on the calendar control. This method will be called from the CreateEventList.
This method should clear all data from List communityEvents.
A LINQ
query that creates CommunityEvent
objects should select the events scheduled for selected
day from the file. The selected events should be added to List
communityEvents.
See code below.

Look, you have to make the file a XML file type -- Somefilename.xml.
http://www.xmlfiles.com/xml/xml_intro.asp
You can use NotePad XML to make the XML and save the text file.
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/296560
Or you can just use Notepad (standard), if you know the basics of how to create XML, which is just text data that can created and saved in a text file, which, represents data.
http://www.codeproject.com/Tips/522456/Reading-XML-using-LINQ
You can do a (select new CommunityEvent) just like the example is doing a
select new FileToWatch and load the XML data into the CommunityEvent properties.
So you need to learn how to make a manual XML textfile with XML data in it, and you need to learn how to use LINQ to read the XML. Linq is not going to work against some flat text file you created. There are plenty of examples out on Bing and Google
on how to use Linq-2-XML.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Language_Integrated_Query
<copied>
LINQ extends the language by the addition of query
expressions, which are akin to
SQL statements, and can be used to conveniently extract and process data from
arrays, enumerable
classes, XML documents,
relational databases, and third-party data sources. Other uses, which utilize query expressions as a general framework for readably composing arbitrary computations, include the construction of event handlers[2]

from one instance to another instance.Hi,
We have exactly the same error in IBolt. This error happens sometime and we don't find the reason.
IBolt has been upgraded to Version 3.1 SP1 and a fix has been developed by the support. After installation, we've work hardly during 2 days for testing all the flows by the customer without having this error.
Ibolt works as a service and when this error occurs, the service stopped and must be restarted.
In our flows, we have put a delete of the observer.dll file just before the rest of the flow but it doesn't solve the problem.
Deleting the directory can be temporarly a solution but the error come back another day.
Each time the SBO client or DTW is started, the %temp%\SMS_OBJ_DLL directory is created...
When you just delete the observer.dll file and leave the rest of the directory like it is, the file is re-created when you start and log to SBO. I would say that this file is a copy of another file observer_800178.dll (800178 depending of the version of SBO yoi have). 800178 corresponds to SBO 2007 A PL 42.
Do you have more information since your post has been send ?
Thanks in advance for your help.

Extracting openvpn certificates from ovpn file
Hi,
I was curious about how to extract openvpn certificates from the ovpn configuration file,
basically on the ovpn config we have:
<ca>
begin/ end certificate
</ca>
<cert>
begin / end certificate
</cert>
<key>
begin / end rsa private key
</key>
normally when we use the file like openvpn --config file.ovpn it works, but on some network manager versions you cannot import correctly.
How can we extract the certificates from command line?
Any explanation to also the purpose of each certificate and how it's generated and used would be much appreciated.You can extract the certificates with cut and paste, with any graphical editor like gedit, kate, or even vi. Remember that you must introduce into the remaining file (i.e., what remains after you have removed the cryptographic keys) instructions as to where to find the keys:
ca /path/to/ca.crt
cert /path/to/name.crt
key /path/to/name.key
A simple introduction to how to generate the certificates can be found, for example, in the wiki: search for ": Create a Public Key Infrastructure Using the easy-rsa Scripts." Basically, there is a series of scripts that will take care of this for you.
As to the mathematical meaning of cryptographic keys, it is too complex to be easily accessible to anyone not doing a Ph.D. in number theory. But you can easily find amusing popular articles just about everywhere, beginning with Scientific American. -
How to store multiple files from SAp in to Application server?
Hi Guys,
Can anybody tell me how to store multiple files from SAP into Application server.in my application i have to get the data from SAP tables BSEG , BKPF , BSAK and BSIK that to daily i have to do.
Any Logic or Code for how to do is welcomed.
plz help me urgently.
Thanks,
GopiHi,
directories creates basis. If you have task to store data in application server you already should have information into which folder you have to do it. If you don't have this information because it is just for example training for next task then you can use your personal folder into which you have access. To get list of all available folders please look at attached code and form get_directories (you get the list of folders you see in transaction AL11). But don't forget: If you are using open dataset you have to have rights to access application folder!
Here you are code which I use to upload text files from local disc into application folder

SachinHello Sachin,
You can use the following metalink note:How to Read Data from an EXCEL Spreadsheet into a Form Using Webutil Client_OLE2 (Doc ID 813535.1) and modify it a little bit.
Instead of copy values into forms you can save them in your temporary table.
Kind regards,
